There is a pun in the german title of twilight because Bis with one s means Until making the title until twilight or something and biss with two s (bc there’s one a little faded s) means bite so bite at twilight because ya know vamps

The black and white for night circus is important bc everything IN said circus is black and white- and attenders occasionally wear red if they're like super fans. Hence the colors on the covers being mostly those colors.

I love seeing the different editions from around the world! Finland used the Swedish cover for TFIOS and I was very confused when I saw it the first time, after already having read the book in English 😅

Rather than vintage books, it reminds me of vintage cartoons that I used to watch like the animated Pink Panther show.

I love the unhinged-ness of these videos XD I've yet to read Night Circus (definitely on the TBR), but a lot of these covers make me want to read more, and just collect the pretty covers.

I live in the UK this is the first time I've seen some of the UK editions in the video. A few of the us covers are the same in the Uk like the twilight covers, fault in our stars and night circus.

I definitely understand the urge to want that last TFIOS cover. There's something about a truly WTF cover that makes it strangely compelling.
I'm currently resisting the urge to buy one I saw the other day while browsing Amazon. And it's not anywhere near as bad. (The Master and Margarita, with an incredibly cute cartoony cat on it.)

Holy cow, those Twilight covers. I sometimes wonder if reading a book with covers like these have an effect on how the story hits for the reader. Like do they feel like they're reading a sexy or adventurous or thorny book, just based on the cover? 🤔

Lol. The texture on the Neck edition of Twilight (don't remember which country it was) looks like maybe they took a photo of a painting. That's definitely the texture of a canvas there.
No kidding, when the Stephenie-made Twilight cover came on screen I had just taken a sip of my tea and nearly spat it out. HOW DID I NOT KNOW ABOUT THIS?!
My favourite thing in a long time is the confidently referenced *Cirque du Lait* (rather than Soleil). I would visit the Milk Circus 😄 Also LOVE this video and concept!

I'm working a lot on my laptop for my assignments so the issue of the perfect font comes up often .😅 I definitely have a few pet peeves in relation to fonts so thank you Jesse for making me feel normal about it❤.
About the twilight covers ... Honestly Stephanie Meyer 's original cover before the US edition came out represents the state of my preparation for exams 😂😢 and wtf was the last one 😮 i nearly closed my phone because of that .

Definitely agree , the Arabic edition of TFIOS is a bit spoilery but maybe it's because it's obvious to us who knows the story by heart . The original cover will always be my number one because of the sheer nostalgia. It's such an iconic cover ❤. The Chinese edition and the Japanese edition are my favourite ones too❤.

The first 2 UK editions, I've never seen in my life and I'm from the UK. I once owned the US edition of Twilight but I own the Vintage Classic The Night Circus with the black white and red theme, with the red spine. It's simple, but I think it's one of the prettiest covers I own. It's gorgeous, as Jesse expressed, and I also think the Vintage Magic cover makes me very uncomfortable. Some of the international covers are very beautiful but some are very strange. The Chinese The Fault in Our Stars cover is gorgeous! However, I was disappointed with the book because I thought I'd cry with how much everyone said it destroyed them, but I just didn't really care all that much which is a shame because I really hoped I'd like it. The Indonesian cover for The Cruel Prince is also beautiful, as is the Russian cover. They're stunning!

The Swedish cover of TFIOS was actually what made me buy the book and binge read it in like five hours straight. I’d seen the US cover beforehand and that cover hadn’t made me want to pick up the book at all.
Yes, Indonesian covers are stunning! You should check Indonesian cover of The Poppy War, Once Upon a Broken Heart, Strange the Dreamers, We Hunt the Flame, Renegades, To Kill a Kingdom, These Violent Delights, The Song of Achilles/Circe, Blade Breaker, and newest edition of Rick Riordan's books... they are masterpieces! 😍
i had and rea that portuguese edition xD i think it had a dustjacket too. either that was the dust jacket and under was the normal usa cover or the contrary cant remember. its so weird tho bc pt books are always paperback but for some reason sometimes theres was dust jackets for it too xD like hex hall book. a lot of our pt editions are soo badd like the lunar chronicles. brazil does really pretty collector editions of some books tho. i got the br editions of acotar books and some shadowhunters books soo pretty.

Maybe take a look at the german covers for the Iron Fey series. I love the story and that we have it completely translated but the covers are… interesting. (Also the titles? „Summer Night“, „Fall Night“, „Winter Night“ and „Spring Night“ why??)

You forgot the Japanese Twilight editions! Along with their MSpaint looking anime covers, they got creative new titles such as "Whom I Loved was a Vampire" and "Give me a Cold Kiss"
To comment about the Thai cover for Twilight I think it actually fits. The series is somewhat suggestive because of the passionate romance between Bella and Edward but of course not overly sexual because of Stephanie Meyer's Mormon beliefs. To quote Kennie J.D. in one of her videos on one of the later movies "Be a hoe, but make it holy" honestly sums it up pretty well
You should read the Spanish love Deception as I’m interested to hear your thoughts on it. The book has MANY mixed opinions, and personally, it wasn’t terrible, but it is famous for a certain line that is laughably bad.😂

My copy of "the fault in our stars" is in spanish and is exactly like the american version: the blue background with the black and white clouds (i'm from mexico, btw) 😅

Okay, so I do have some info on the Swedish edition, if you're interested. The title in Swedish is "Förr eller Senare Exploderar Jag", which translates to "Sooner or later, I'll explode." I mean... it explains some of the elements, but I can't tell you the rest.
