    The way how it manages its barrel steady right after firing is so impressive. It might be a key part of its high firing rate. A peace of art.

      @markusfischhaber8178 Před 2 lety +8

      @@user-lh1uu7cs9u Well you can transport it quite easy by train or truck, but you can not make it fit into a plane. It uses NATO standard ammo so it should be no problem to supply enough ordonance. BUT: it need a Command and Control Center to get its Fire Commands or you need to know how to enter da Fire Command localy. The Software is German and most Names and Commands are German. So i see no problem in mooving and supporting, but a problem in using this thing

    • @vencdee
      @vencdee Před 2 lety +3

      @@markusfischhaber8178 Well I'm startled that the software is not using standard localization to the well known languages (NATO languages) or that it can't be switched somewhere in setup. Such things (gettext strings config files) are well known even for C/C++ which I would expect the software is written in. Netheerland soldiers are using German UI ? 😀
      Relying on Command center is IMO illusive in real war conflicts where the connection may fail from various reasons (heavy bombardment of infrastructure or intensive jamming). The crew should be able to work independently... As I know, In Ukraine the army units are decentralized to a certain level which is an advantage to the Russian army which works on direct orders (therefore you can paralyze it by killing the top commanders etc.).

With a maximum of 10 rounds per minute you can imagine what is going on at the end of a proketil's trajectory. • @XoravaX
      @XoravaX Před 2 lety +3

      Nope, the MSTA-S has a semi-automatic loader. You still have to place each individual shell and case to the loader and activate the rammer each time to load, a fully automatic loader would take the shells and cases from the storage automatically. The Koalitsiya-SV does that, however, and ,as you said, it also has the whole loading mechanism and ammo storage separate from the crew.

    I just watched several PZH2000 videos and it is very strange, how easy handle the crew the almost 50kg projectiles. Like a 20kg one only. 46-49kg, half meter long, 155mm diameter cylinder is not an easy handling thing what you could drop into the conveyor with straight back. But there is no suffering or struggling at all... strange.

      I used to serve on an M109, also a 155 mm gun, back when NL still called up conscripts. I don't know if the situation with the PZH2000 is comparable, but this is what I remember. 1) Usually the 'weaker' men were called up to be arty, i.e. fat guys, thin guys, short guys and so on. 2) After a few weeks, a lot of the guys in the crews in my battery had doctors' notes saying they weren't allowed to lift anything heave (i.e. shells). We made do with whomever did not have or did not fake a bad back. 3) Although the shells were heavy (45kg approximately), they were compact and relatively grippy, which made them easy to handle. Also, 4) rumour had it that the Germans used strong men as loaders. The reason was that they hydraulic loading system was fairly slow, whereas with manual loading you could get firing rates of, I think, 6 shots a minute.

      I'm sure it depends on the breach of the gun, or something, like how Flak 88 was used, it kept going, then afterwards cleaned, like every other gun, but flak is all I know with a short reload, and same with artillery, some needed to be cleaned, and others don't like the pzh2k
