- Futurama had an incredible run of 14 years and 140 episodes, but did you know that over the course of its life and a bit beyond, THREE additional Futurama stories were produced? All written and produced by the original cast, crew and writers, there are 3 Futurama stories that some don't seem to know about. I can't believe I was 13 in 1999, and sooooo excited when I saw the first commercials on FOX. This is what brought me interested in SciFi.
7 years down, 3 to go, if it follows the formula of coming back after 10 years off the air like the original run...
I've still not really watched most of the revived series. Similar to the Simpsons - I kind of put it to bed after the movie.

Bender's robot powers had always change in the series- sometimes he give a robot showers, sometimes he can make coffee, so complaining about his compartment is moot. Its for the humor, like he can wait thousands of year stealing treasure with no problem, but gets bored waiting ten minutes waiting to kill fry in Benders big score
Futurama at the end of every season: Let's treat this as it was the series finale, just in case
Literally EVERY other shows that knows that it wont get another season: LETS MAKE A CLIFF HANGER
On the other hand there's shows like Robot Chicken that act like every season is their last, when all they have to do for a new one is show up at the studio with box of toys...
A lot of shows that know they are probably not gonna get renewed will try to pull a cliff hanger, hoping their show will be renewed in order bring the story to a conclusion.
Thats usually on purpose. The shows creators are hoping fans will start a riot over not knowing the end, drumming up demand for another season. Then hopefully the studio will see that there's money to be made and renew the show for another season. It's basically like the show blackmailing the studio for a new season lol

One of my favourite shows growing up. Don't know why I ever liked Family Guy more than Futurama.
I fully believe johnny 2 cellos is the reason were getting a new season of futurama to be exited and fearful of.

I started watching it early this year.
Actually... it ended multiple times. Fox ended the original run on their network. It was later revived as a few straight to DVD movies and Specials on a different network. With the huge success of those the series was fully brought back before being cancelled AGAIN.
I knew about the specials but didn't know the series was brought back till like the last season started airing so I was around to watch it get cancelled twice, on two different Networks... I think there was also a third network it was on for a while when I didn't know it had been brought back cause I'm pretty sure it was on both Cartoon Network and Comedy Central after it left Fox.

Simpsorama is a good crossover, but I prefer the one they did in the comics, where they play with the idea that the Simpsons are fiction in the Futurama universe, and they bring back the flying Brains.

I have that comic. I loved that splash page where it has all the Futurama characters mingling their Simpsons counterpart.
Man the whole BONGO! Comics Futurama run is really good to be honest. I would highly recommend stopping by your local Comic Book.shop and picking up as many back issues as you can. You will not be disappointed.
Bender's body can be seen in their basement in basically every episode that shows the Basement after Simpsorama so I think it is canon otherwise why keep showing Bender still in the Basement in later episodes?
They actually did show Bender's panel at the back of his head in 'Free Will Hunting'. The back of every robot's head supposedly has a free will slot basically shaped like a gear.
So this crossover ignores the idea of the free will slot and apparently now Bender's memory is a hard drive instead of being a cloud backup.
the free will slot was on the front of the head not the back, and even in that episode you didnt know it was there unless it was being accsessed

I'm kinda glad futurama ended when it did It's a lot better then something like the simpsons or family guy where they go one for too long and you just hope they'll end

That's mismanagement. Futurama didn't have that. The Simpsons puts out 20+ episodes per year. Futurama had 20+ episode seasons too, but they were split over 2 years so they were doing around a dozen episodes per year.
I agree. It was still a great show but the quality of the jokes began to dip
@@freedustin I agree with that. Futurama was more thought out and they would do some scientific research before and between writing the episodes, at least the early ones. I think there were more stories to tell in the show. Season 6 was clearly weaker overall, but they still had great episodes and in fact my all time favorite episode is from this season (The Late Phillip J. Fry).
I mean even Simpsons was great for at least 10 seasons and Futurama's universe is way more rich to explore than Simpson's because you know, it's mostly fictitious and allow to more craziness. Maybe one day we get one last run, who knows.
I still enjoy the new simpsons and family guy episodes as do hundreds of millions of other fans...so your entitled to your opinion but its just that, an opinion....as considering the prime-time spots they occupy as well as the heavy views on hulu do not support your claims that they have gone on too long because the ratings tell a different story

Futurama had an actual ending story and a story arc....It didn't just go off the air without rhyme or reason. Wow.
What you talked about with Simpsorama and how it can't be consider canon in either continuity, that's how I feel about people saying that Persona and Catherine are in the same universe and using things like Vincent's cameo in P3P and the DLC with Joker for Catherine Full Body as their point. Sure, it's nice to see Vincent Brooks appearing in Persona 3 Portable and how you answer the questions he asks you, a nice teaser for the game he's from that would come out shortly afterwards, and it's cool to see Joker go through the big towers Catherine is known for and the other Phantom Thieves reacting to what was happening in the little side story the DLC came with. But I can't see either of them being canon for either continuities for pretty much the same exact reasons as to why the Simpsorama episode can't be considered canon.
The show had a pretty good run so I wouldn't want it to come back, but an actual movie would be nice. Those direct to DVD movies feel like extended episodes and vary too much in quality.
I appreciate the attempt at the audio format and doing a production that can only be an audio, but that story sounds... Ehhhhh
And now, we'll get yet ANOTHER TWO SEASONS of Futurama! 😆

One thing I loved was the Simpsons/Futurama crossover comic. It was hilarious in the double page spread where Moe found a suicide booth and couldn't get in.

I remember some of the Futurama DVDs had a trailer for the game, which said it was “coming soon for PS2, GameCube and Xbox”. Well the GC was all I had, so I was rather miffed when it turned out the GC release was all a big lie.
(Of course, it was just business, but 8 year old me didn’t know that).
Ah well, at least I had The Simpsons: Hit & Run - now that was a classic.

Bender floating up out of the basement when it floods is just such a comedically great moment of continuity. Him floating past almost in the background just spitting out water is hilarious. Good job, Simpsons, ya did a good gag in a recent season

Bender’s body and its contents haven’t always been consistent, usually to facilitate whatever plot point or joke requires of it. There are times his chest cavity is hollow, and times it has mechanic components in it. In one late episode Fry was able to wear Bender’s body like a suit with no major harm done to Bender.

There's actually a graphic novel completely dedicated to an entire Simpsons Futurama crossover, where the crew goes to a planet of old comics and nerd stuff, and the brain spawn puts them into a Simpsons comic. It's an amazing book, and extremely funny.

For the adventure time fans, one particular episode called "Everything's Jake," reunites Dimaggio with fellow cast members of fry, the professor, tinny tim, and even Zapp. Not so much a crossover as more a reunion; yet the Adventure Time characters did show up once in the beanstalk episode of futurama.

It was great seeing something fresh about my old friends. Yes, that is my dogs name and I get to educate todays youth when they ask me, what kind of name is that. I remember the anticipation of the 2nd episode after the premiere 20 yrs ago and it is the only show that motivated me to correspond with a network when they got cancelled. Thanks.
The year we watched Simpsorama my boyfriend had taken acid and it like completely blew his mind that Bender was running loose in Springfield, it was like reality broke for him. I sat him down and made him some dinner, and was like yes Bender is scary isn't he? And tried to be soothing.
I really need this show to come back. There's so much good stuff to tap into since it was cancelled.... Just hope that zoidberg and Marianne can keep being a thing. I really like things to keep the continuity going..... And they are cute together

I remember stopping off at a gas station about a little under a decade ago and picking up a Futurama comic in the Magazine section. I only read the thing once, and then lost it, so I don't recall the plot. But it may be worth it to search around for copies any potential Futurama Comics as well!

This Futurama game reminds me of Muppet Monster Adventures which was a PS 1 game. In certain levels it is so hard to grab the point stars and extra life. Also the mini challenges are sometimes pretty hard. It being so tough made it seem like a serious gamer's game . I'm glad I found cheats of Muppet Monster still on CZcams. I got to check Futurama game out

As much as I love Simpsorama, I always considered it non-cannon to both The Simpsons and Futurama. We know for a fact that The Simpsons existed as TV show in the Futurama's timeline as there are numerous references to it in Futurama, especially in its original Fox run. Fry acknowledges Bart as a character from the 20th century multiple times.
Bring this show back with at LEAST 150 Episodes, we've been stiffed way too long!
There’s also the comic-book series which I read a lot when I was a kid. I remember the first couple of issues being pretty funny but severely downgrading throughout its run.

I started watching Futurama in March 2007 and I had all 4 seasons and currently watch them on Hulu today.
Hynotoad really makes it all come together. You should check it out. Glory to the hynotoad.

I liked them all but - and forgive me if someone said it already- dude, the comics! There are like over 40 chapters of fun futurama side stories!

So I spent so long playing the game on my ps2 but for the life of me, could never get past the Leela level. Years later, I find a video on this site of someone finishing it in an hour and my mind was just blown! Obviously that took some practice but good lord!
Also, a detail I've only just noticed, was that the calendar that the team make when everyone's genders are reversed in the background of the Simpsorama scene? Probably already been noticed, but I'm a little late to this party.

Bender also shows up in another Simpson's episode, remember? This was briefly (only visaually in a car without talking) before the crossover came out. I think there is like 3 appearances.

Truly, one of the greatest shows to ever have been created. It still depresses me a bit if I think about the fact that we will never get a new season, a single new episode, nor a new full-length film.

Ah, they've retconned the damn dog in the first movie. Fry spent plenty of time with him when he returned to live in the past and morphed into Lars.
It’s gotta be parallel timelines or else literally nothing in the original episode makes sense haha
@@Johnny2Cellos They never really explained it. But the main issue with time travel was it created paradox with the duplicate resulting in the duplicate blowing up. The events didn't change when the double blew up, just the character. When the first movie ends all of Benders duplicates start self destructing causing a rend in the universe which opens the door for movie 2.
