Shame on the 2008 Government who didn't attended the funeral of the greatest Army officer India has seen. Sam Bahadur sir deserves the Bharat Ratna.
It’s not their mistake bro FM Sam sir is a Parsi and at the time funeral non Parsi are not allowed to enter in the ritual place .

When I was in depression, I always study about the biographies of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Field Marshall Sam Manekshaw and Gentleman Spymaster RN Kao. These three people are the real heroes of our nation, but unfortunately these inspirational personel never honoured by the Bharat Ratna which they deserved.

If Sachin Tendulkar was honoured by Bharat Ratna award then why not Major Dhyanchand i.e the double standard mentality of our politicians. I am from Kolkata, here another Hockey player's of Major Dhyanchand team member's i.e Lesley Claudius belonged from Kolkata. It extremely pathetic that no one known him, he also a important squad members of Gold winning team in Olympic.

I am so honoured that my father Lt col N.N.RAo Vr.C had shook and met the great Sam bhadur in person. God bless both of them.He was such a great general , after the 1971 indo-pak war he has each and every soldier of Indian army such was his greatness. I do even have a photo meeting of my father and his fellow
officers.

What do you mean he is not given the credit? He's the one of the three "Field Marshals" (Which is an honorory title) provided to military personnel. Which also means, he can command the army at any point of time and there is no retirement. There's a leadership school under his name in the Army institutes. Do your research. Besides, FM Sam, was never fond of credits. Hence the credit to Pak Surrender was given to Grl. Jacob and he was in the background. The credits due to him can never be satisfied by mere govt. awards.
That’s why it is fact and truly said that,the value of any things is not known until and unless that things is gone or forgotten.

Both Professional knowledge and competence are fundamentally essential for leadership. Professional knowledge helps a leader to stay composed in a difficult situation due to their in depth understanding of their respective field and helps in efficient decision making. Whereas professional competence is mostly about effective execution of the knowledge, implementing the theoretical ideas on self and ensuring the followers/subordinates too abide by it. Both the terms are somewhat interdependent as just the knowledge is of no use if not executed and without the knowledge it's difficult to become a competent leader.

Just hearing some of his life story made me emotional. People say that time to time god take their smaller avatars to achieve some greate nobel cause, and maybe he could be that case, anyways the combine coincidences that shaped his and our country's story is just seems a miracle to me.

I didn't know that Sir Sam Manekshaw didn't get the facilities and honors from the administration and government of India at that time which deserved and earned while protecting us.
There is no doubt that Indira Gandhi's ego and dictatorship is the reason behind this.
If this is what the government of India does to one of the few honest officers then I will never try for a government job again nor even my children.

अपने देश का दुर्भाग्य था कि देश के महान सपूतों का जिन्होंने जीजान से देश के लिये अपने पूरे कर्तव्य निभाये ,,,न तो अपेक्षित उनका सम्मान हुआ ,न देखरेख ही ,,न ही उनकी ज़िंदगी के उन परिदृश्यों को सबके सामने एक मिसाल के रूप में लाया गया ,,,अब ये सब सुनकर पढ़कर बहुत अफसोस होता है ,,,जीतेजी उन्हें कितना दुख रहा होगा मगर ज़ुबान पर एक आह नहीं ,,कितना धीरज था कितने सहनशील होते थे वो लोग ,,,अब ऐसे लोग जन्म नहीं लेते शायद ,,,या गुमनामी में ही खो जाते हैं जो गिनेचुने होते भी हैं तो ,,,सादर प्रणाम है ,,क्या राजपूतों का शौर्य सुनो ,अंग्रेजियत से मुक़ाबले की भारतीयों की दास्तान हो या 1962 के चाइना युद्ध में जांबाज़ों द्वारा बिना ज़रूरी सामान के बर्फीले इलाक़ों अपने आपको चीनी सेना के सामने लड़ते लड़ते ख़ुद को समर्पित करते सुना ,,या भारत पाकिस्तान के बंटवारे की कुटिल नीति सुनी ,,या पटैल जी ,बोस जी , शास्त्री जी ,मुखर्जी जी की मृत्यु के रहस्यों से उठते पर्दों का सच पढ़ा, सुना तो ,,,बहुत दुख होता है ,,तब मीडिया इतना स्वतंत्र नहीं था न एडवांस ,,मगर आज की युवा पीढ़ी को जरूर अवेयर रहना चाहिये ,,,ये अधिकार से कहीं ज्यादा देश के प्रति कर्तव्य है उसका ,,,🙏

Sachin Tendulkar ne zyada contribute Kiya hai Desh ke liye aur sacrifices kiye hai sam bahadur se, isliye sam sahab ko bharat ratna nai Mila aur Sachin ko mila. Ye Desh ke neta kabhi bhi is desh ki sewa krne walo ko Inka haq nai deta. Aaj Tak ratan tata sir ko bhi bharat ratna nai Mila. It's very painful.

I learned something new today,Jai Hind.
I believe he will remain a legendary Military Commander for all time who will be remembered for his feats of heroism and his humility. He was a man of honour & integrity and a brilliant Field Marshal who was dishonored by the Politicians after his retirement in 1973. A sad indictment on the incompetent leadership in the political arena of INDIA. I was honoured to serve under his command & leadership, as Chief of Army Staff of the Indian Army (1969 to 1973). Serving in the J & K Sector during the 1971 war "Operation Cactus Lilly" was my greatest honour as an Artillery Officer. Sam's life story is an inspiration for all & posterity will gain the knowledge of his courageous service as India's first Field Marshall. He was one of a kind Military Officer who was a visionary, competent and supersaturated with confidence & knowledge of his profession as an Army Officer. May his soul forever RIP.
