That is sweeet ! That nerf bar really sets off the back end of this hot rod. And the step detail you designed into those gussets is a master stroke, as you said “art deco “ . It’s these little things that really make a difference, plus from what I can see on the screen you won’t see those gussets unless you get on your knees and look under and then it’s “right on, nice touch “. Well done Lee 👍🏻
Thanks!
The black coating on steel is called mill scale. Good job looks good sir.
Well now i learned how to shape rod steel, well done, maybe I'll build a front nerf bumper for my 62 Ford Van. Thanks Lee.
That’s a great idea!
Well done a true hot rod project. Thanks for taking us along and providing great info.
You made me LOL, because I was thinking how you must really love your plasma machine and then you said it! You do such great work!
It’s the best
Very nice. It was cool watching you go from imagining it to fabricating it. It came out great.😊
Thank you! Cheers!
Great bar! Simple and elegant all at the same time.
Agreed!
Looks great! Nice clean and simple. I actualy prefer the black smooth diff, for that very reason.
Well done! Design and fabrication, and function! It's amazing how something that seems simple, requires such thought and time! A-and, the Winters! Yes please, can't wait to see the build! Go LGKustoms, keep moving forward!
Thank you very much!
Awesome job you are a master Lee 🛠️🇨🇦🛠️🇨🇦
Thank you badge.
Great job, thanks for sharing
Thank you! Cheers!
Another informative and enjoyable video. As we come to expect. Thank-you.
Glad you enjoyed it
Like the design, protection yet unobtrusive 👍
Nicely done Lee 😎
Nice Job Lee.... Always look forward to each Saturday to see what you been working on. Would love to have a plasma table to step up my fabrication work, but as a retired guy just doing it for a hobby it is hard to justify the cost
That is the same reason I have for not buying a milling machine. Sure would like one.
@@chrisallen2005 I am blessed in that I have a medium size milling machine and an old Logan Lathe
Have a photo of a red Model A coupe with a similar chrome nerf bar to hide the rolled pan seam. The bullets were a good match to other car features, his ended with a 2 inch vertical radius and the sharp corner broken with an 1/8 radius from a trip to a machine shop. A horizontal arc matching the body line you pointed could work with the sharp corner broken.
@@hbrown2687 There are milling attachments for some lathes. The cutter is in the head stock, the attachment replaces the tool post, cutting depth is provided by the saddle travel, horizontal cuts are cross feed while vertical cuts are attachment feed. These expensive and rare items are limited in travel, heavy milling and fixturing of your workpiece.
@@waynespyker5731 Yeah, I was lucky enough when I got my lathe that it came with the milling attachment, taper attachment, steady rest, center, tool grinder attachment and a full set of collets and tons of tooling
Nice job! Came out sweet looking 👍🏻
Thanks
Thanks for sharing, always interesting!
good show alway good 2 watch someone who knows what there doin thanks😎👍
Thanks
Man o Man...great content, and more coming...like it!
Looks sooo good!
I learned how to bend steel on a tablesaw.😎
The table saw was key in making this 😆
Looks good but I think it would look better if the gussets where welded to the outside of the brackets. Just my opinion.
I considered the outside too, but thought the inside was more subtle.
You are more fun to watch than anyone else on CZcams! And the work is excellent too! Is there anything you can't do?
Haha thanks.
Damn looks so good!
Awesome and cool 👍
Thanks
Wondered why solid bar stock instead of a tube, since you said it was just to "add some pizzazz" to the back. That's a big chunk of heavy pizzzazz back there.
The owner requested solid bar. Traditionally most nerf bars are solid bar
Hello Lee I like that nurf bar. Tube would be lighter if just for decoration. But more work and harder to achieve the same result. I think that bar would save the rear body work if ever it was needed. But then you throw winters into the equations. Now it don’t need no tank out there. Would an old socket make that centre tweek? Can I e mail you about merch. Many thanks Tim.
Originally I was thinking of making it from tubing, but the owner requested solid bar, and traditionally most nerf bars are made from solid bar anyway.

Look's Great!!!
Thanks!
Hi, I'm not sure what grade of steel you used before. better grades of steel have more spring back. A solid round bar is going to be a low grade steel which is dead and will not want to spring back.
Good to know
