- The 2004 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S Cabriolet has in my view always been the awkward middle child in the 911 family, but it has a few tricks up its sleeve. Watch my review to see what all the fuss is about!

The year I turned 50, coincided with the year I was promoted to U.S. Navy O-6 (Captain). With my “Domestic Commanding Officer’s permission (that’s my wife!), i “gifted myself a very low mileage 1990 944s2 Cabriolet….almost 20 years later, I still own and love the car! And….It still has less than 70k miles “on the clock”….and it’s never seen winter, as I “mothball her” (stored) 7-8 months a year. But I’d be lying, if I didn’t admit to some “911 envy”. So I am looking…..and while I’ve been concentrating on the 997 version, you, my friend, have me reconsidering a 996.2. Bravo-Zulu….very well done, amigo. Great video! Thank you.

Simple, air cooled headlights are based on the VW Beetle. 996 headlights are based on the racing Porsche.

There are “eyelids” available that change the look of the 996 headlights back to the traditional Porsche shape and are readily available online such as eBay.
The 996 C4S unfortunately has no oil temperature gauge, just oil pressure and water temperature. A big bummer for all C4S owners, like me...
If it has oil pressure then it doesn’t really need oil temp because it has coolant temp. Oil temp isn’t as important on engines that use a coolant to cool the engine and oil as long as it has a coolant temp gauge.
It's a water cooled car. Oil temp was important with the air cooled cars as the oil was used for cooling also. Not necessary here.

@@Stavro335 usually when the clutch is replaced also the IMS is replaced if it hasn't yet, just curious.

Those are the turbo lights the runny egg ones are different
almost 1800kg is extremely light for a sportscar ? What about my mx5 NA, which weighs 950 KG and is the better drivers car as well ?!

As for the 996, the car after the 2001 facelift looks much better... But personally I would choose the Turbo.. Basalt Black metallic.
I was really hoping that he showed the convertible top working I wanted to know if this manual or electric💢
Hi, I currently own a 2004 Carrera 4S cabriolet that I drive daily. I love this car more so than any of my many previous cars. My C4S does have a Power Convertible Top that will go up or down as long as you are going less than 31mph. And correct me if I'm wrong but I believe all 996 C4S's have the Power Top as standard equipment.
