OG Broly was really cool - huge unstoppable truck with maniac mood. He was very popular(and still is) that's why you can find him in almost every DBZ fighting games. That's why Toei try to reimagine him and they did it for sure

It is also worth mentioning that if you examine Broly from his first movie, he is funtionally a different character than the 2nd and 3rd Broly Z movies. The First time we see Broly he actually has depth and an interesting perspective as well as unique and brutal dialogue. He was reduced to the Kakarot death machine with no depth after this. So truly, if you enjoy the series and the Character, you will see he isnt the same after that first movie. And that super broly is only any better as a character in the light of those dumpster fires lol.

@@Cam_lostpotion the hell are you talking about? The music is aided with a bunch of screams and sound effects, not only that, the initial song doesn’t start until after the transformation. Technically all of this can be considered copyright, be thankful CZcams didn’t go fully down that route.

Most of the 90's DBZ movies go hard with the licensed music in the dub; the 'Lord Slug' one in particular is famous for featuring 'Stupify' by the band Disturbed.
The soundtrack is American yes and the tracks are a bit scattered in comparison to the original music from Bruce you're used to hearing, Brolys main theme was a song called "Tens" by the rock band Pantera. The note able lyrics you can hear from it mainly to symbolize his power was "can I explode" (when Brolys transformed and blew his own face off) so to me it was fitting for that reason mostly but that's just my opinion. History of trunks also had tracks with rock in it similar to this not the same exact kind but for better or worse it had its own fit but it is an accquired taste to each their own lol I understand how you feel lol

Just my opinion, but it will also name a lot of the songs in the movie for those that are curious;
This was one of the ones where I liked the American soundtrack better (minus two songs... ewh). It has a few Really BAD songs in it, but it has even more really GOOD ones. The use of "SIlverback" by "Slow Roosevelt" when they got ambushed at night and wound up fighting over the lake is great along with "Tens" from Pantera when Broly transforms in front of everyone and goes destroys Vegeta's will. But my favorite is probably the one that plays when Broly is just dragging everyone through the city; "Reach" by Gravity Pool which is a really hard song to find too in high quality (The band apparently just stopped? it's not many music platforms). The Music at the end is from the band "Haji's Kitchen" album "Twenty-twelve" which they used two songs from ("Day after day" when they start fighting in the city and "Lost" at the end when Goku is about to beat Broly) and the Entire album those are from is amazing. I personally felt the heavy metal just fit Broly's persona better than the OST.
Either way though I can understand where you are coming from; It's very different from the usual DBZ music.

Since you are relatively new to the series, it is basically the nature of the universe 7 saiyan to be ruthless, opportunistic, and untrustworthy. As warriors they are like spartans in that they will do anything to survive and win a battle and if they have any pride itd be by his/her own means.
I like bruce falconer in the show especially during Vegeta's Final Flash and alternate versions of some movies of the DBZ franchise but this music dub fit the movie so much better imo, because of Broly being a absolute unit that and I grew up listening to this kind've music throughout my life.
This movie, Lord Slug and Revenge of Cooler have great licensed music dubs of the movies.

Never heard this soundtrack before, it kinda fits Broly's theme of chaotic rage. When the fight starts the jp soundtrack is more everyone else's L than Broly's W. Melancholic and desperate. Well except for the end, which makes it even more epic to me.
Easily one of the biggest beat downs the Z fighter's ever got and plot saved them.
in case you didn't know, this fight against broly happens before the cell games, that week that cell gives him trunks and the other z warriors, because during that week it happens. (context)
The music goes with how demonic broly is I’m pretty sure they use the same music in movie 2 and 3
A little look-see into the psychology of broly, he has a type of PTSD, as seen in his backstory, he last remembers Goku crying before nearly dying twice, so he associates Goku with every bad memory he had of the day he was born, and tries to kill him
This is still my #1 favorite DBZ movie to this day DBZ Broly is a Badass
In my opinion I think when goku and broly meet for the first time in this movie it’s gotta be one of the best scenes in dragon ball especially with the music, the music for that scene was spot on to me
Also, for reference, galaxies in Dragon Ball are extra beefed up. There are only four galaxies in Universe 7, so that means that each galaxy has to be 1/4th the size of a universe.
So take that into account when they show Broly destroying an entire galaxy.

Just remember: the Z movies aren't canon until you get to Battle of The Gods (and every movie after that one is canon as well)
even though they aren't canon, some of them are still good, and they usually have better animation than the show (one of the western intros to DBZ used ENTIRELY clips from movies because they looked so good, which confused me as a kid because I kept waiting to see the clips in the show but it never happened lol), but sometimes you have to suffer through what America in the late 90's to early 2000's thought was cool, so a couple of the movies have nu-metal soundtracks in the english dub
I think my favourite movie is the first DBZ one: Dead Zone, it has great fight choreography, and it's one of the rare times you get to see Kami fight an enemy

Goku and Gohan use SSJ Grade IV aka "Full-Power", Vegeta uses Grade II, and we don't see very much of that period in the manga so it's very feasible Goku and Gohan powered down on a day of rest or 2 either by their own volition or being forced to by Chi-Chi

A lot of the OG DBZ movies had Licensing from of different Rock bands. I believe they started to change the sound around the Coolers Revenge and Broly movie times and used some tracks from Dragonball GT. That show was airing in the US around the time the Broly movie came out. When DBZ Kai came out, Funimation ( English Dub) decided to go with the original Japanese OST and cut ties with Bruce and the guys who worked under him (actual composers) Mike Smith and Scott Morgan who did all the work especially Android/Buu saga their best work in my opinion.
This is the best answer to his question about the soundtrack. Only thing I would add is the American versions of the movies started using licensed music for the movies on movie 4 (Lord Slug).

In dragon ball Z a “galaxy” is a term for a quadrant for 1/4th of the universe, with millions if not billions of galaxies and solar systems. The daizenshuu (official dbz encyclopedia) says so, so Broly blowing up the south “galaxy” actually means he destroyed millions of them

This movie's ost was hype for its time and straight up nostalgia for some but definitely an aquired taste especially with the dark themes/backstory portrayed in this movie( 10:40 ). My favorite highlight was 9:30 onward 🤣 Broly is the only person to make Vegeta a literal b**** 🥲 our boy piccolo had to give the man a pep talk 😅 The comeback for Vegeta in the new Broly movie redeemed his pride tho. My friend had the vhs copies of all dbz movies. I would always put this movie on at his house. Definitely my favorite movie as a kid. But since then I think I rank it second I honestly enjoy coolers revenge more as a whole. Frieza older brother cooler is a cool character I hope dbz super makes him cannon at some point. Like they did with broly. Would love to see him get a re worked film

This was the originao music for the movie. Bruce Faulconer did all of DBZ but not the 13 movies. This is movie 8 i believe. Movie 12 is one of the best. Fusion Reborn and the villain is called Janemba.

This movie isn't canon to the series but it's one of those few movies that actually fit within the timeline of the main series. This could easily have taken place within the ten days before the Cell Games. As for the other Broly movies, they make it impossible to comprehend the timeline placement.
A lot of the English dub movies had early 2000's nu-metal tracks instead of the original music.
Was never a huge fan of OG Broly but I love the new Broly.

Newborn Broly was more powerful than Goku and Piccolo vs Radditz! After being stabbed and heavily wounded , he manages to survive the planet explosion, this is huge !!! Even Buu couldn't!! ( I won't say more because... Spoilers lol )
Broly was a traumatized baby ( stabbed, planet explosion, wandering in space till he reaches another planet, livin a lonely life with his crazy ass dad ... ) with Legendary power , PLUS he has that pure saiyajin savagery, no wonder why he's unstable lol .
And Goku's energy was one of his first memories , and it wasn't a good one lol. A memory coming from his most traumatizing moments in life.
he got beaten because of that clean last hit in his weak point were he was stabbed as a baby. Broly was never serious in the fight, just having fun with insects, never broke a sweat! That's his saiyajin nature !

This was fire, please check out some other movies aswell such as Super Android 13 that one is really good, or Fusion reborn but with this I recommend you first complete the buu saga.
