Guys ❤ I know rhubarb leaves are toxic, that’s why I didn’t give them to the chickens if you look closely they just had the stalks, leaves go in the compost heap 👨🌾
I didn't know they're toxic. Good to know. 🙏
Im in😀😍😍😍
It feels like you are in Love
To be fair, my free range chickens entirely demolished a rhubarb plant (leaves and all) that was already on the new property we moved too lol. Maybe I have super-chickens, but not a one of them got sick. 😁
@@troxycatSuper-🐣- natural😍
Gaz is looking extra good these days! And it’s not just in physical appearance - his entire energy seems to be flourishing. I enjoy watching this type of progress.

I must say everything you made looked delicious. I really liked how you sliced the green beans for the Greek dish that you made. The way you layered the top with the squash, potatoes and tomatoes was similar to a Confit Byaldi (ratatouille) and it looked delightful.
The inside of your beets looked stunning when sliced and the borscht looked very tasty.
Your kimchi breakfast latkes seem like and interesting combination that I would like to try. I really enjoyed you using your own produce to make a full days meals, even down to tea and calm scenery.
Your chickens look very healthy and happy and they love you, you can tell by how they interact with you. They look forward to your presence around them, that means you try to keep good energy. Your land is also very fertile and you can tell from all the butterflies 🦋 and bees 🐝 that were flying around (flying things lol).
Thank you for your wonderful uplifting videos, the content and quality of the filmography is amazing. Oh and, Happy Leo Season! Hopefully you’re having a great born month.
Oops. Plan that very well. I follow a gardener in California who did that. He said he lost muscle mass and was feeling fairly low through that month. He also said it affected him negatively for a long time afterwards. Now he's not a chef and I know you would do it better, but since it seems to mean a lot to you that you feel strong and fit, just plan it really well. (Also a couple in Alaska. They did better as they have fish and eggs of their own and a lot of onions, potatoes and preserves, but it still was hard. That was obvious.)
(Your pumpkin plants are wonderful. What kind of pumpkin is it?)
I have a copy of your cookbook, Plants Only Kitchen, it is so good! Thank you for sharing all these wonderful recipes with your viewers, we are so fortunate to have a wealth of fresh fruits of vegetables available here in the Okanagan Valley where I live in Canada. Cheers 🇨🇦
Yeah, 1 day is too easy, I sometimes rely on the garden for a day's food and I've only got a couple of raised beds and a few pots.
I hope you've got plenty of legumes and sprouts available for your 1-month experiment, otherwise, lack of protein might be an issue.
Unless you're including eggs from your chickens I guess.
Yay, as a Ukrainian - i'm so happy to see you cook borsch. it's definitely one of the most heartwarming meals, especially on colder days: beetroots, potatoes, carrots, cabbage and beans - it doesn't get any more beautiful than this. you really should try it cooking in a traditional Ukrainian way, serving with some (vegan) sour cream and a slice of bread with garlic. it's a match made in heaven 😌
innocent, beautiful, authentic, calming and completely unpretentious videos. thanks
So nice of you
BTW Gaz, if you lightly boil for around 20 mins the beetroot leaves and dress them w olive oil, garlic, and lemon, they're amazing! We eat them like that in Greece.
We Armenians do the same in a slightly different way: we dress them with oil and plain yogurt with some garlic:) It's really delicious and very healthy!
It's always an instant click when you post Gaz, and you never disappoint!
Thanks so much
@@gazoakleychefhere here ❤😊
I’ve gotta say even your jokes are coming from a more authentic joyfulness lately. What can’t a garden do to a person?
I'm from Ukraine, borscht is a national dish in my country and I used to eat it often in my childhood. Your borscht is a bit different from what we cook, but it also looks very tasty
I can’t get over your comment section man. So many people going out of their way to tell you about how your videos make them feel. So much positive energy. Honestly not surprising though, it just bleeds through your videos that energy. Keep it up 🫶🏼🐝
It’s borsch 😊 if u add beans to add for extra protein it makes a perfect vegan version. Also make sure to add cabbage, cut the potato in cubes and serve with sour cream and garlic bread and it’s pure heeeeeeaaaaaaven
The beautiful rural setting agrees with you Gaz. It's so relaxing watching you cook outside and using your homegrown vegetables and herbs. It must be so rewarding.
Making this (i.e. being able to eat home grown food only) my reality is my dream. 😄 Thanks for being an inspiration! I loved the collabs with Huw and Ben as well. 😊
It was my dream too! The best feeling ❤️
@@gazoakleychef I'm so happy you're living your dream! You're so obviously beaming with joy ever since you moved back to Wales and it's absolutely heartwarming to see. 😄🌈
Gaz: here I am...following your channel for years, secretly in love with you, your dedication for plant based food, your amazing cooking skills, and lately your choise of leaving the huzzle & buzzle and settleing down at that beautiful countryside:
You are awesome 😊
I wish you a wonderful journey!
oh my well .... camilla aghem.... control your self young lady. lol
I always crave nature and having my own garden when I watch your videos. So calming! 🥺♥️
Thank you!
Bears, beets battlestar galactica!
Man, gaz... the aesthetic of your videos have evolved in such a beautiful way. The garden, the sounds of nature... it's all like a dream. ❤
Identity theft is not a joke, Jim!
You seriously live in a fairy tale. The welsh country side is so beautiful. I aim to be 80% self sufficient off my land.
Thank you 🙏 you can do it!
As the wife of an Eastern European, I've learned a lot about their cooking. And a major lesson I've learned is you can't just "put some dill" in your borscht, you gotta PUT SOME DILL IN THERE.
That applies to any application of dill in any Eastern European dish 😅
thats so true. I'm Polish and honestly I hate that 😂😂😂
That celery salt got me VERY excited! I'm growing celery for the first time next year, I can't wait to make some!
loving the subtle phallic jokes here haha! as always, cooking and joking with style Gaz, truly love your content x
Your video is a true testament to your dedication and passion. Seeing you grow and cook your own produce is not only impressive but also incredibly inspiring. Your commitment to self-sustainability and creating delicious dishes from your garden is something that many of us can learn from. Keep up the fantastic work! Also loved the add 😍
Wonderful video as always Gaz! I am Ukrainian, the beet soup is called ‘Borscht’. I love to add fresh peas and homemade fresh tomato sauce, it is a wonderful soup, either hot or cold. Along with a fresh piece of warm homemade sourdough, a comfort meal in a bowl. Enjoy with different variations, you have a great garden!
I'm Polish and I was happy to see borscht in your video ('barszcz' in polish 😀), it must be delicious! We traditionally eat it at Christmas Eve' s dinner.
I also love the quality of your videos, your garden is beautiful and I'm sure there are many women who would love to be Angelas to your Dwitght Schrute 😂
Greetings from Poland! ❤
I've got my own version of this on my channel The Last Homely Garden tomorrow night at 7pm BST. You inspired me to have a try and I built a brick cooker (with help!) for some very smoky home grown veg cooking! tastes great though! ~Take care xx Kate
I do this. Usually starting in April/May until October.
It’s fun!!
Another fantastic video Gaz!
You and your crew are doing such a fantastic job in every single video!
I’m always super happy seeing that a new video is out. It means I take some me-time as it really fills me with joy watching your content. The vibe is so calming, while being blessed with learning lessions for cooking, well-being, nutrition, gardening. Its always such a nice and well-rounded package. For me these videos are actually always like a new episode of my favorite short movie series Definitely my fav youtube channel!
You really inspire me! Thanks ❤
Such a nice comment Phil. Thank you so much for the support & taking the time 🙏
That snippet, where you hold the slices of beets in front of your eyes, should be the new photo of your channel, it's the perfect Gaz-vibe. This is such a cool video, I really enjoy it! Thank you for constantly putting out such high-quality videos for us! Lots of love
Good idea!
Eselente me canta .saludos 🇨🇱🇨🇱🇨🇱🇨🇱💋💋💋
Love how the chickens run after you 😂❤
Another lovely video and cool challenge, Gaz!
“My babies will be pink.” 🤣Hahaha 🤣Yummm, what a lovely experience to harvest and cook with you!💜 Great idea to squeeze rhubarb in lieu of lemon👍 My garden offers abundant green beans in these days as well so appreciate a new recipe! 💚from the NW corner of Washington State USA 🌱🕊
I love the direction your channel has went the past few years! Thank you for inspiring me to garden more and eat fresh produce! ❤
You know it’s an amazing video when you watch through the whole thing without skipping even the add ….love what you create in your garden and also what you create for your viewers 😊
Wow, thank you!
Delicious!
We are waiting for the chicken episode though 😊💚🌱🐔
2 weeks today
@@gazoakleychef looking forward! 😇
So, so happy to see you cooking 'fasolάkia' φασολακια, meaning little beans. Mint goes surprisingly well with them. Love your recipies and videos x
Hi GAz! I love to see your beautiful garden! It’s amazing how it grows! You inspired me a lot!! Thank you for sharing your day with us with delicious food ❤Btw…. I look forward to hear the story about the chickens! Love from USA❤️
Greek girl here! I add in zucchini to the fasolakia as welll :) adds a nice softness! My Yiayia adds in potatoes. 😊I love this dish cuz any veggie goes great in it! If you shred the green beans it elevates the whole dish!!
Dear Gaz, Thank you for your wonderful plant-based organic cooking from such a beautiful garden🥦🥬🥕💐
They say that gardeners are the happiest people on earth I can see the difference from living in London to being out in nature!! You look great ❤
Not only is your choice of music here absolutely excellent, you also linked the music in the description
Thank you so much for sharing your day and your garden, Gaz! 🌱💚🍀
Beautiful content! You live your life in an incredibly inspirational way and I’m grateful to be able to share it with you
Your videos are so so nice! A real pleasure to watch!..
The music choice is also top notch...these tracks really embrace your videos like they should!
🤩
Loving the gardening cooking combo!
I've been cooking since I was 7 my mom alowed me to use the stove and I've been gardening since 4 I'm 13 now and I some times make dinner and I'm the youngest thay always love when I cook. You are really inspiring
I'm so jealous of your garden. I am also extremely happy for you and the success you are having with it and the joy it is bringing you.
You really have all you need for a beautiful and delicious meal, right there in your garden! Wonderful video, Gaz and Tom. Love the colour galore in your fantastic garden and surrounding countryside.
Love this video. Thanks for creating it. ❤
Your garden is GORGEOUS. Thanks for sharing with us. ✌🏼
Beautiful videos... your transformation is so lovely to watch. Having chickens is so rewarding as well. It's a game changer in the garden and when you get them, you realize what's been missing. They are truly my friends and helpers.
What a creative, colorful and inspiring video. Congratulations, you did it, Gaz! BTW: My Eastern European Jewish immigrant grandmother made borscht for us from her own childhood. There was a meat version for winter, and a summer version served cold. I've simplified and adjusted the recipe and my family loves it! Your version looks great too. . .
Yeassss go Gaz!!! Thanks for encouraging gardening!!! And composting!! If you have the space or the capability of growing a garden or compost please start one today!!! #govegan
I've made the green bean pie twice this week - it's a delicious solution to the current surplus of runner beans from my allotment. Great recipe, thank you Gaz!
I'm in my third year of gardening (in a new-to-me climate) and I absolutely feel the joy and pride that you do in eating straight from the garden. I love these videos!
I've always loved your videos, but I especially love these gardening videos!!! It's a joy watching you in your amazing gardens!! I'm a gardener, too, but it's been a bit of a challenge to garden where I am in the US (Texas)! Recently, we've had many days over 37 C/100 F and no rain since early July. I really enjoy watching you in your beautiful gardens! Much love to you and keep living your dream!
Thanks Debbie! Wow that must be tough, but I bet you can grow some impressive exotics! Thanks for the support ❤️
Such a lovely area and garden, a beautiful country! Everything looks so delicious!
You can always pickle or ferment your beans, pickled beans are yum!
I feel so happy, inspired, motivated and full of hope during and after watching your amazing videos, thank you so much!!!!
Love the gardening aspect added to your channel. You show how easily it can be done and you inspire me to add more things to my garden.
Absolutely LOVE these garden videos - regardless if it’s good challenges, tours, or tips! Growing most (if not all) my own food is a goal that I would like to achieve. Currently have a tiny garden out back and can see some progress on some of the veg I’ve grown! 🌱
So wonderful to see your garden skills. The recipes are outstanding and make me hungry. I will be trying these soon as I too have most of those same ingredients in my garden, tysm!
Well done on doing a day's meals from the garden. It really inspiring for us all to what we could achieve.
love your gardening vids Gaz.... so relaxing..and love that you use every inch of what you have grown... right down to food for the nutbar chickens
your parents must be sooooo very proud of u............ what a beautiful inspiring life you have created..... well done you - I am truely envious of what u have done with your life..... good job !
Thanks so much Jen! I couldn’t do what I do with out the support of my parents, since the day I quit school at 16 & walked into the kitchens, they have supported me! ❤️
the world needs more parents like urs.... jxx@@gazoakleychef
All the rain you've gotten makes the garden look great! Here in the PNW of the US, we're in a drought. My garden is doing OK but it's struggling. Thanks for the green bean recipe! I'll make it this week!
love your videos Gaz - I am an amateur gardener also - I was so excited to grow eggplant this year.
I really enjoy watching your videos❤Your passion for cooking, the care and love you put in your recipes, the stories, and you top it off with a wonderful sense of humor 😅You never disappoint. Love, love, LOVE!💕 😊
Thank you so much
Love your videos! So fun and entertaining! Thanks so much for sharing your recipes from the garden.
i just love your content from the garden. really enjoy the calmness
Glad you enjoy it!
Gaz! Thanks for the rhubarb juice tip 🙏 I have been trying to manage without foreign veg& fruit lately and replacing lemons with rhubarb is 👌superb. I also thought of quince fruit but it's much harder to just press the juice out of them by hand 😅
this is so refreshing!! keep up the great work!
Nice recipes. I love beets and beans of various kinds.
Most of all, I love cooking and eating at home.💖💖
I am inspired.👍🏽
This was wonderful to watch; so inspiring! Thank you for sharing!
Gaz I've been following you for years and the progress of this channel is spectacular. As a Greek, I love beans, stuffed vegies (stuffed tomatoes, zucchini, eggplants, etc.), chickpea soup or cheackpeas in the oven, lentil soup or salads, fava beans, but also the tasty versions of pasticcio, but instead of meat you make it with carrot, the vegan moussaka, with mushrooms. I also think you would love yalanji dolmades.
Keep up the good work. Greetings from Greece.
Absolutely love your content 🫶🏽 Your garden and dishes are outstanding! 🙌🏾😋
well done Gaz! As s Ukrainian I'd say you've created amazing BORSH inspired beetroot soup. Borsh usually has cabbage and beans in it. Your version looks more like HOLODNYK - cold beetroot soup, with combucha as a base!
what an exciting challenge, love to see it! And I have to say you are a fantastic gardener, what an abundance growing there
constantly leveling up! what a great way to showcase all of your labor!
Man, I live what you're doing :) keep it up!
Loved this cozy video with all the beautiful produce from your magical garden. Thank you for sharing your green heaven with all of us :)
Amazing as always..you don't disappoint....another good option to replace a lemoney flavor you can also use sorel ( not sure if i spelled that correctly) it's a wild plant that the leaves have a lomon flavor not sure how it would work for your application though
Gaz, Korean viewer here. I really love what you stand for in your content. Your homemade kimchi gave me an idea- what if you visited south korea to learn all about the way we preserve and ferment our food?
Just the way you are master at cooking vegetables, we are too. I think it would be one heck of a content to see you explore the South Korean country side and learn about their food.
Cheers!
You're so adorably goofy Gaz "I caught a big one boys" 😂
The intense chicken footage is an absolute masterpiece. Your sense of humour just gets me.
Looks yummy! Agree with the other comments that you seem so much happier than you were in 'the city.' Country life agrees with you! Don't complain about your weather, it could always be WORSE! Now you need to expand your garden to make more produce! Also like the direction you are taking with using local wild plants and herbs, like the Yarrow you were talking to Charles about using as a 'steptic.' I use plantain for bleeding and cuts, didn't know about Yarrow. Cheers!
Gaz I’m a new subscriber and this was absolutely lovely! I would love to see more videos like this 😊 And please send some rain over here to America, it’s been a dry summer 😢
Your joy and gratitude is infectious
I saw your post on Instagram about the chickens and you being vegan. People must not realize that they are just mini composters. You waste nothing because they eat everything and you can fertilize with the poop. Plus they can be quite entertaining. It's a win all the way around :)
Just come across your channel, love it! I’m turning my garden into a vegetable plot so hopefully next year I’ll have a garden full of food 😊 recon I’ll get quite a bit of advice from your videos, Ta 😊
I love this whole episode. We need more. Love the chickens too! They look so happy.
Pure joy 🤩🌱💚
I adore everything you are doing. What a life 🫶🏼
Hi, Gaz! Great video). I loved your Borsh version (it's pronounced Borsh). Traditionally it's cooked with the meat, but for the vegetarian version we use red beans instead. There is also a cold version of Borsh (great for those hot summer days) and green Borsh - with spinach and sorrel. Check out Okroshka - its a cold "soup" - basically just a bunch of veggies with kvass (its a fermented drink made from rye bread), or you can use kombucha to sub it)
Gaz, your videos are an inspiration. Thank you for taking us all along for the ride. I also really appreciate your style and must know what is your source for all the great ceramics you use?
This video really showed your funny side! You're hilarious! Always a joy to watch & very grounding too. Your energy is just beautiful.
I truly needed to share the morning with you. Thankyou for your zeal of cooking.
❤ GAZ! I love to see your gorgeous gardens and your amazing cooking abilities to make delicious meals! Love it!! ❤❤
Thanks so much
You are basically living my dream life.(Which hopefully will be my life) Can't wait for the 1 month video!
I love it! Live in Portugal, do the same things and have almost the same home grown ingredients and also like to cook almost the same. A bit uncanny but I DO think that we are on the right track. Well done mate!
I love the garden videos, there’s so much calmness in them. It’s my dream to have a house and a garden as well to live my peaceful vegan life. Thanks for inspiring us. Enjoy the rest of summer dear Gaz
Hi Gaz. I moved in UK 6 years ago from Greece. Me and my family we love Wales and actually we was thinking to move permanent there. Of course is a lot of things that we must consider first, cos my youngest son he's still in a secondary school. Any advice regarding life in Wales, location, jobs etc. I will appreciate it 🤗.
I love your videos and especially the way you express your self. Your love and the excitement for the land and the goods it produces is unique. A lot of your dishes are common in my greek cuisine. Your today's dishes it was full of Greek aroma and flavour.
Finally you got it right. Fasolakia 😋😋
Definitely I will visit you the next time I am in your lovely country.
Kalli, Eastbourne East Sussex 😊😊
That used to be one of my jobs as a child, prepping the green beans for freezing through the winter months, such lovely memories 🤗
Sounds like Little House on The Prairie vibes
I love making a curry from the runner beans, they are the main ingredient and it’s delicious 😋
Dude you are amazing. Very inspiring. Much love from South Australia!
