Read any comment section on CZcams in videos about China and you will see that a massive percentage of Chinese commenters either misunderstand the video's purpose, or have a knee jerk reaction to any type of criticism.

Chinese logic, Buy a VPN...what for? Wikipedia? Nope. To access google? Nope. To see what the rest of the world is thinking?? Nope. To drop a negative comment on any person offering their view about China? YES!
Well, most Chinese people just living their lives not wasting time making stupid comments on Facebook or CZcams. The guys making weird comments criticizing serpentza etc., are 50-cent trolls (wumao). Their job is to make random pro-China comments on the internet and wash away any criticism in a torrent of Chinese nationalism.
So they get pay ? :))
The irony of Chinese people NEEDING a VPN !!! LOL
I made a comment about the Corvette not being the best car for winter driving on Serpentza's channel and a Chinese person replied to that comment by going on a bizarre tirade about how negative and hateful Winston was towards China. It's really odd.
yeah haha, the corvette isn't the best but she's holding up well!
Glad to hear it!
To be honest traditionally Chinese people hate to be criticized or get their negative side exposed publicly... it is all part of the 'face saving' culture. Even honest constructive criticism is seen as rude behavior, they believe that an cultured, educated man should know when to 'give face'. I guess Winston choice of words sound a bit rude to Chinese ears, but I understand it is his freedom to say whatever he want, and he is not making things up. Of course the West works differently, and actually this is the part of Chinese culture I hated most. I believe respect have to be earned. To westerners, Chinese are so thin-skin and sensitive, and seems weak and insecure, to a certain degree they are.
To be fair its the youtube comment section, not the finest slice of anyones culture.
I can't believe Winston is LYING about our country! China is much stronger than the US, we have all your industry, guys! We can steal it from you and start producing our own iphones and sell them!! You guys on the West just do not understand our superior culture. Retards.
Winston. I am Chinese. And i am welcome you to China. The way you comment about what happened in China are really very constructive. You are the man.
Wow totalitarian!!! I can not describe it better!! Agreeeeeeed
If Mao Zhe Dong didn't destroy 5,000 years of Chinese tradition, culture, and history in the cultural revolution, there would probably be a lot more kinder, well mannered people in main land China. It's no coincidence that Taiwanese and Hong Kongese are a lot more friendly and liberal than the main land Chinese.
The cultural revolution had this thing where children could (and did) turn in their parents as bourgeoisie tools, as a tantrum because they were made to eat their vegetables. The massive upshot was that many parents were terrified of their own children and treated them like a servant would treat a despotic ruler. These incredibly dysfunctional children grew up with no ethics nor manners and are "the wise elders" right now.
They should have built a toilet on top of the crystal case they made for Mao Zedong's body so that people of the world could queue to take a dump on the head of the worst human being who ever lived.
Taiwan is fake China and Hong Kong are rebels. I prefer proper Chinese.
@@boyar1978 I would rebel against mainland china too with all the crap they're doing.
Mao destroyed a china that was stuck in medieval times. It was something that had to be done.China needed something drastic to propel it into the present era and Mao did that.
That "Fuck you! Beach!" comment was priceless xD
"Tanner, you son of a beach!" :D
That guy forgot his tanning lotion and now he hates beach so much.
In Chinese eyes, foreigners all grew up from the sands. Hail Beaches!
sex on the beach?
Must have thought that CZcams censors curse words. It does not. Yahoo does.
We have plumbers in Sweden. I find this offensive. *Triggered*
Indeed, very offensive! ;-)
Hey I feel for you bro'. I'm a Handyman - shitty at EVERYTHING!
As a Swedish, I wonder how you got it, Swedish and plumbers !?
Of course we can handle such expressions, I'm just laughing ...
Oh god, you too? Same here in Finland. Are finnish taking your jobs in field? I've been wondering, because many welders and workmen go to work to Sweden in here, because of better wage. Is it same in plumbers business? : )
This comment was clearly hate speach
The glass heart syndrome is common among nationalists, no matter what the country. It's a very childlike mentality; very "me-centric".
Yes. That mentality is widespread. In fact i am surprised that reaction is not stronger. People, families and peoples are hightly narcisistic. They hate when somebody does portray a bad image of themselves.
Hey I'm in love with my glass heart! I represent this remark!
Troll Breitbart sometime for fun. It's the exact same thing there.
Dear Winston and C-milk:
We’ve been following you for at least 1.5 years and we’ve pretty much watched all of your videos, together or separate. I feel like that I have to leave a message now after half through this video. We’re an interracial couple who are academics in UK and I am Chinese, born, raised and educated in China before my PhD in UK. I can vouch for the fairness, rationality and open-mindedness of your videos, and both of you, with my character and my life-long experience with Chinese people inside and outside China. It is utterly sad and disappointed to see those irrational, narrow-minded, nationalistic, clueless detractors (both Chinese and non-Chinese) and I cannot imagine how many negative impacts they may have forced upon you two, who have both contributed tremendously towards our culture by identifying the real problems intentionally hidden by others, and introducing the rare freedom of speech and thinking when we are at thirst. As a country, a culture and an individual, we are desperately in need of those unbiased opinions and the courage to reveal the real China.
Your videos are crucial evidence that support my opinions and my experiences about my country as well. I have been trying so hard to reveal the uncensored China and to analyse the cultural/ historical/ humanistic background for those claims, beauty and problems. I frequently encounter disbeliever (mostly non-Chinese) and even deniers (mostly Chinese). I cannot justify why critical thinking can be interpreted as attacks, treason, etc. I feel the bizarre isolation of simply being a truthful critical thinker.
A society cannot thrive upon lies, cover-ups and controls. I thank you for your contributions towards unveiling the real China, the beauty, mystery, sophistication and obstacles. I think you’ve grown seeds of hopes.
Merry Christmas. Welcome to visit us. We are awesome.
+Simiao Sun thank you for such a wonderful and eloquent comment, we are both extremely humbled by and appreciate your understanding. Thank you and we hope to continue to try and find a balance somewhere in between all the hate and misinformation from both sides of the fence. A very Merry Christmas and/or happy holidays to you and yours
+Simiao Sun
Who's "we"? Are you part of the collective like the "Zerg"?
Great comment. It takes an open mind to take constructive criticism.
What do you mean? They clearly state they are a couple, so the we is the couple...unless I'm completely stupid and missed something entirely?
@@paoDaoGe she said who "we" are, "we" are awesome.
I'm Chinese. I've watched almost every video you made. This is the first time I leave a comment other than just a thumb's up. I want to know what foreigners think of China and the differences between China and other countries. I think you're right. You're doing a good job.
Cyberbullying has become a serious problem since socal networks appeared in China. Those nationalists are more active than other Chinese people who are also offended by them on the internet. All we can do is just ignore them.
Stay awesome !
I'm a Chinese and I think you are fairly unbiased in vast majority of your vedios at least from a foreigner point of view. I appreciate. And I think your videos are accurate enough for a foreigner to know about China .Chinese should not expect them to talk about China 100% accurate. In fact, most of Chinese are also not able to do so.
And some glass hearted Chinese people please just stop! YOU ARE A SHAME
IF YOU LOOK ALL THE COMMENTS HE POST IN THE VIDEO. THEY ARE ALL IN ENGLISH. I AM 90% SURE THOSE COMMENT ARE FROM CHINESE THAT LIVE IN THE AMERICAN LOL
That would not be uncommon. American diaspora of different groups tends to be more hard line with a less nuanced understanding of things. You can see this in American Jews to Israel, American Irish to IRA and almost any group dealing with a political situation.
It's currently global scale with the national level political conditions and the international geopolitical relations though most don't know it's global where most country citizens think it only is happening in their own country say America or Germany or China. It's horribly concerning and why I stopped traveling and living in 2014 where I then discovered about a year ago I was ahead of the curve compared to fellow Americans due to being in Asia and Europe all of the prior 10 years.
i like how you say they are not accurate, you are still denying that the bad things they say are true, Typical glassheart chinese

It is not the usual 3 % sociopaths they are talking about. Who cares about them? Not the 3 % unemployed people sitting on their wobbly office chair from Ikea all day. When they have enough trolled around CZcams they'll go to their favourite Red-light pages and type one-handed. Because not even an ugly chick with pimples on the butt will take them serious.
You ought to read what so many commenters from China say. It is not discussing or vocalizing a different opinion. That would be ok. No. The tone and choice of words is literally the rudest, most degrading and racist that you can experience from anywhere in the world.
Shut up bro, not all haters hate
Gaddes Scott, you just contradicted yourself. Hate is what haters do! They know nothing other than such. Haters hate aplenty! That's what gets them ignored.
its unbelievable how you connect eachother and film this. very professional, i did not know it could be possible
It's not that hard you know. Just nobody has done this before.
ahh the power of internet and youtube...
Does anybody know how they do it? Through whatsapp/skype? What app is allowed in both countries as a communication medium?
They take 2 seperate videos while talking to their phones, probably through skype or viber or facetime, then laowhy takes the video from serpentza from his dropbox and edit it with his version and that is probably it!
Spicy110 and jakethegardensnake did this a few years ago. But its always nice to see youtubers connecting from around the world.
Never stop making these videos:) I always look forward to them. (as they say...screw the haters!)
As a Chinese person who was born and raised abroad, with parents who settled abroad in their teens, and has never been back to Asia yet - I find your videos about China extremely informative! I can't ask my parents what it was like in China really as they only lived their for 2 years each in refugee camps. I've always wondered what Chinese culture in China is like as the Chinese kids I have met from China (Visa students etc) consider themselves completely different to CBC's like me (Canadian born Chinese). Keep it up guys! Thank you!
Chinese people should thank you both for making videos. Before I started watching ADVChina I genuinly thought that China was one of the shittiest countries to ever exist. And that comes from what I've read and what I've seen. Impressions that Chinese people have no empathy (no semaritans, the roadkill videos etc.) and all the other terrible things we've all read about China. Most people probably think that China is a retarded horrific place from the news they're getting.
So I watched your videos about your worst experiences in China and I thought to myself "Why would you ever live in a shithole like that?". I was about to post that comment but didn't. I kept watching other videos, and after awhile I was intrigued by your life in China and also China itself. Now I have a much more positive outlook on China and chinese people.
Seriously, you guys are the best PR China could ever dream of
American spy report: Jason Bourne here. Day 62 posing as an English teacher. Today I taught my students the word "door" and now we have control over the doors of their minds. The plan is progressing smoothly. They don't suspect a thing. -except for that 30 something year old bothersome lady.
chinese people are almost the same as filipino in that regard. if we are pressed about something we're guilty of, instead of answering, most of us would result in asking you on the bad things that your country did. best example is our president. which is troubling.
Lalin Dissanayaka Sounds about right. Most of us don't handle criticism very well. But your teacher sounds like a real bitch even in Philippine standards.
Haha! Yeah, most of us are easily offended and don't get sarcasm most of the time. The thing i find most annoying is that if you don't like something they like, they would totally change the way they look at you. Good thing you overcame those and enjoyed your last visit!
Yes. It's called the "tu quoque fallacy".
Because summarily executing people, like the Nazis did, is a good thing in your opinion.
Schicken Phartso That might sound like a good idea at first but this is easily abused by a lot of people. You see, you can kill random people in a fashion similar to these executions and put a note on the dead body saying that these are drug addicts. A flood gate has been opened and it is extremely hard to control it.
I'm Chinese and I like your vids. Keep up the good work!
+Lingfeng Zhen thank you!
I live and work in China. You guys are spot on with your videos and explanations. Awesome work!
If youtube is blocked in China, how can Chinese people post comments ( positive or negative) to these videos ?
BillyNoMates1974 Chinese people watch CZcams by either living abroad or by using a VPN
yes but that would be a small percentage and not really representative of Chinese people in China (i.e. they live abroad and could have for a while so not up on current affairs)
Tons of the more internet-fancying Chinese use VPN's. It's rather common.
I wonder how many native Chinese people are savvy enough to know about VPN's (not that I am saying Chinese are thick - it's a bit techie to know and use such things)
asking the real questions
Don't give up guys. I can feel you are not happy and you are making complaints. I totally understand what you feel. I used to feel the same. If I say something bad about china, they call me traitor. I just do not like drinking and smoking because our teachers tell us they are bad habits. However, when I refuse drinking and cigarettes from others, they become angry. Why I do not even have to freedom to drink or not, smoke or not?! In China, the thing is if you do not do/say what people expect you to do/say, they become angry. There is no freedom of speech. Anyway, forget the hostile comments and move on.
Another massacre???
You give a lot of valuable and neutral information about China. Don't let the fanatics get to you.
I enjoy your videos. You guys are frank and have taught me more about Chinese culture than I ever learned in school.
I'm Chinese American and I agree with te things you say about china and it's society
Asians were racist the whole time, just china censoring the news
Chinese americans or ABCs are worst human being on earth.
Kevin meng lmao why?
Kevin meng you clearly know nithing about us
Do you know your ABCs
Nationalism is an ugly thing in every country, but in China it is especially bad because of the childhood indoctrination. Americans criticize American more than foreigners do. My Chinese wife now lives in the U.S. so she is starting to see the difference in the countries after 5 years here. She spends three months a year back in China because she love it and her family, but she recognizes the Nationalism is getting worse and she is even intimidated by family because she lives in the U.S. now. Even though she still holds Chinese citizenship.
I have a friend married to a Chinese, and after living here for 12 years she finally decided to go for US citizenship. Her comment was something like "China just seems so bitter now".
Love your vids, so insightful, raw, and real.
Just discovered this channel and subscribed
The simulcast was very cool.
This is both a cultural and education thing among Chinese people. We were brought up being told that we should love our country and nation (and to a greater extend the CCP)as our mother. So anyone basically mentions anything slightly negative about China would be taken on a very personal level. Hurting China's image (even though is not necessarily the case) for them is making them loksing their own faces. I know this mentality is quite juvenile but unfortunately that's just the way it is.
But here's the rub. I love my country above all else. But I don't get bent out of shape regarding ANYBODY else's opinion on how my country works. Let them opine. It simply does not bother me one iota. That's the difference..
I consider the CCP and China as two different things, but not all agree with me - especially the CCP.
I'd call it nationalism. It's childish, racist, narcissist and seeks to demonize the "outsider". It defies logic and reason. Some would call it patriotism. I would call it hatred and ugliness, and sadly... it seems to be increasing.
I am Chinese born outside China. You guys doing a great work. Don't worry about negative comments.
Even if you have a cute kitty video some people will find some reason to leave a negative comments. This is the good thing about internet that we can say any B.S. online without any repercussion.
And it would be boring to read comment's if it is all positive comments... lol.. I bet someone is going to leave a negative comments about this 1..
I like your videos guys, learned a lot from them!
Cheers from Toronto & Belgrade :)
Hello C-Milk and Sarpentza, I never write comments, but decided to show my appreciation and gratitude to you both. The work that you are doing is amazing! There are people who love what you are doing! You are very genuine and keeping it very neutral, giving the viewers a chance to decide for themselves. Can’t say it enough how amazing are your videos! Thank you so much!!!!! God bless!
Thank you! That means a lot to us
Well I'm from a country that used to be in the Soviet block (Bulgaria), with all the communism and everything and I see the same 'glass heart', 'but-hurt' reactions from a lot of Bulgarians (especially old people). It's not that bad like in China, but you definitely can find parallels. It's due to low self esteem as a part of a group that chose the wrong political system and fell behind economically. And yes things are way, way, WAY better now being part of the EU but still you can see the scars so to speak (in the minds and in the old infrastructure). So don't wonder, it's just a product of the communist political system.
Exactly, I know a piano teacher from Bulgaria, she is not bad on piano, but unlike other white piano teachers, she is very very very sensitive to any negative message/comments, and try to use any opportunity to fight back, ...., so I said to my friends, she looks somewhat like Chinese, that's the story some 5 years ago.
Martin Tonev Well said!
Hua Zhou please dont ever leave a comment again, you make no sense you disgusting racist.
I trained in Russia with a few Russian team mates in the summer for a few years before I stopped playing hockey always treated well by people under 35 you got it every where always loved my time training in Russia before returning home to the states
You guys are doing a great job telling the world what china is really like, and I think all Chinese people should be grateful for what you have done to eliminate all these misunderstandings on china that many westerners have.
the production with the international phone call with both people driving at the same time was really cool :)
I teach Chinese exchange students in America, and I find your videos fascinating because they give me a glimpse of where my students come from.
I've been all over the world, but I haven't had the opportunity to visit China yet, so it's refreshing to be able to get an unexpurgated view of Chinese culture, family life, food, society, and see parts of daily life from an insider's perspective. The topics you cover are interesting and educational, and I always feel a little smarter and better informed after I watch an ADVChina, Laowhy86, or Serpentza video.
Keep up the good work fellas, and stay awesome!
Honestly Im part of that group of people who have been convinced to visit China thanks to your videos. I've always been interested in Asia, but never China. The American in me has always wanted to see the industrious and orderly societies in Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan. While the Mexican in me has always been interested in the adventurous and culturally diverse places like Vietnam, Thailand, and the Philippines. But China always seemed to be middle of the road, a luke warm dystopia with an over bearing government and a forgotten history. Needless to say your channel has destroyed my misconceptions, hopefully I can go to China some time in 2018.
I love your content mate. if you left China, and started to make videos about other countries ,I would still watch you.
Your videos are very insightful. Thank you.
Love you guys. I'm astounded at all the jerks out there that talk trash to you guys. Don't let them effect you, you guys are successful for a reason.
This is one of my new favorite channels!
As a Chinese I must say that the majority of Chinese people are only able to take criticism from their superiors. That's one of the reasons when they see your videos they become angry and say disrespectful things. Also, people are very sensitive and defensive whenever there's an opinion from a foreigner about China. Even people living in different cities within China have stupid stereotypes and jokes about other cities and could start attacking each other for this. Well mostly on the internet anyway.
I completely understand why you guys have been railing on about this whole, addressing the troll-thing lately but I'm ready for you guys to get back to your regular stuff. Screw them. Let's move on. Those of us who like you get it. Stop letting the 50 Centers win and dominate these channels by addressing them day after day.
+NorthernChev agreed
ADVChina : I thought this video might represent some form of catharsis. I don't disagree with any of the points you have made. Trying to appease or appeal to the better nature of people who lack the capacity to understand the role and purpose of constructive criticism is, however, a thankless task. It doesn't mean that it is a waste of time or effort; just don't expect those with closed minds to suddenly have an epiphany!
I honestly didn't think much about China until discovering your channels. Suer interesting and now the country is definitely on the bucket list!
Love the videos on this channel, SerpentZA and Laowhy86 too. really fascinating. Keep it up guys!
Just a tip. A lot of CZcams "stars" who get caught up in the endless task of making rebuttal videos to "haters" in their comments section. . . well it kind of drags down the quality of the videos. I mean it's interesting for awhile but hopefully you won't make making video after video of arguing with the "haters" . . like that guy Sunny from Thailand does. . . He is similar to you guys in a lot of ways but let the comments section get to his head.
Daniel Tynan I came in the comments section to say the exact same thing. While rant videos can be interesting. This is not why I come here.
That's just a part of the video, watch the whole thing. C-Milk talks about how he gets the same shit that he gets from youtube comments, from his own family.
Haha. A tip from the? Are you a successful video producer? I would argue that these topics are what people love to hear. My team vs your team.
Yeah everyone gets trolls. The only time I saw a good response is a song written with only negative comments
From my own experience as an ethnic Chinese living in the West, Winston is spot on with respect to how one can say bad things about their own parents but not when others do it. As a people, the Chinese do not have the ability to digest criticsms or understand nuances. I totally get it Winston and C-Milk. I got a verbal bashing from my mainland Chinese friends a few years ago for saying similar things which you referred to in this video.
Your videos are very informative and interesting. I am hooked on them!
Love the international video conversation. Day and night at the same time. Awesome!

***** Every time they say the world we drink a shot of tequila. The last one standing is the winner :-)
Artur H lol funny.
Every group of people has its idiots, they're not worth worrying about.
And social media concentrates them and makes them seem much more important than they really are. You should see some of the crazy posts on Korean fan sites.
not true. those idiots can get you fired, deported, or kill you!
guys I am really a big fan of yours. I have watched almost all your videos. you guys are doing really great. your presentation is awesome
These are super informative videos and pretty much in line with perceptions about Chinese that not only you have but many other non Chinese Asians have as I have travelled around Asia. Being of Asian descent and having super asian parents who don't care for constructive criticism but simply obedient people respecting them to make them feel good about themselves, your videos will always be hated unless you don't give any opinion about China aside from just talking about the good stuff.
Right now China thinks they are the shit and go around traveling even in other asian countries and acting like they own the place. It's been very enlightening to meet other Asians in Asia who have told me how much they hate them. Particularly in Vietnam, a communist country, I was surprised to see that a majority of the Vietnamese were talking crap about the Chinese with me for no apparent reason and telling me how much they are interested in America. Right now the whole Korean sensation thing is big here and it's apparent the the Vietnamese siding with China has gotten them nowhere but the Chinese just bullying them while the Koreans who were able to keep the communists up north are enjoying wealth and success having sided with the Americans.
Anyways, keep up the good work and hope you and your family stay safe... I really fear for your guy's lives. And if the Chinese can take criticism and realize how they are being perceived by the rest of the world, maybe they could be a superpower but as of right now they are just losing respect around the world by disrespecting people, not being able to take criticism, and acting like barbarians with stupid comments thinking that's somehow going to make people respect China... You really should consider moving to another country.
I honestly think it's the government brainwashing them because in California I'll say that my best friends are Chinese Americans. They are the most open minded, intelligent, loyal friends I have. It's sad to see mainlanders making them look bad. But eh... who am I to talk, America has its own problems with idiotic people making us look bad too. I just truly hope the horrible comments you got are from the most ignorant .0001% of the country's people.
I think this is a great synopsis. Well thought out.
Your videos are indeed doing a great job of promoting China overseas. The Chinese Tourist Board should give you a grant.
It's kinda funny that people would misunderstand your videos so much and assume that you're just painting China in a bad light. I used to not like China very much (as someone who has never been there), but after watching you guys' videos I really wanna visit China. I think most people feel the same way.
It's much better to just tell it like it is instead of just pretending like there are no problems or issues. People like authenticity. But if you were just being unashamedly positive then people would see right through that. Propaganda doesn't work on foreigners, sorry to say. So keep it up :)
Your channel very informative ! Thank You for that !
I totally hear what you guys are saying here. I moved to Fuzhou in October to teach ESL and all of our TA's are Chinese and I make a point to avoid talking about this sort of thing because of the reaction I get is exactly they way you say it is. If you guys are ever in the Jin'an District of Fuzhou, I would happily give a place to stay. Keep making the videos, they have been severely enlightening.
Another great video. Don't let the haters discourage you. You boys are entitled to your opinions. Let the haters hate.
"Canada's got some kind of discount version"
I'm dead. xD
I know, right? I'm from Vancouver and there's so much terror here about being racist if we happen to notice characteristics we don't like. I'm hoping we don't continue to hand them the keys to our city as we pack our bags for somewhere more affordable.
BIG DIRO the keys are gone. It's over.
XD my first visit to canada to meet my gaming friends i said america is to cokacola as canada is to rc cola
I love your videos guys. I take notes and tips.
I was recently recommended one of your videos and started watching you guys non-stop ,enjoying this content. I understand how being a foreigner effects you like when I go on trips to Mexico I get all these sterotype and sometimes hate thrown at me. your videos are very informative and a great way to learn about a culture I had no idea about
Absolutely agree! It's amazing how the comments go South the moment the video goes public. The irony is that if anyone is damaging their country's reputation, it is them.
nice intercontinental video again guys!!. winston as you head north keep a close eye on the cars outside thermometer. when it gets around 32 and it looks wet slow the heck down man!!...this is coming from someone near Boston.....
+steve s thank you mate, I will
and if you ever come to nyc . the speed limted is 25 ..... smh .
I appreciate your honesty with the very experience in China of your own. This provides a complete different perspective of my culture.
Your content is on point and unique. Keep it up.
They know how depressing their country is. Thats why they are being so defensive..
As an average american I can see why they see some things you say as negative. I enjoy your videos, and am never going to say mean or hateful things. I do see how saying that China has no jacks of all trades, is insulting to people.
i looooove your video best Quality ever seen i just cant Stop watching your vlog ik how it feel feed back keep it up ;)
I have learned so much from both of you. It is so interesting. They are the go to videos because I am visiting China, and learning from you both.
SerpentZA - Laowhy86 I think you guys should do a follow up video to this aimed at Chinese people rather than aimed at the western audience. Call it something like "Why it's good to critisize your own country - politics - culture" And give examples of how people around the world do protests against their government's laws they don't agree with, or critisize eachother for things they don't agree with (like gun ownership in the US), or critisize eachother for cultural problems (like obesity and junk food in America). The idea of the video is to let your chinese subs know that hey... "Western people openly critisize themselves about things they don't like because they see the value in spreading that information - and YES they will critisize you too". You get what I mean by this video suggestion? A friend of mine has a saying, "Protest is patriotism".
"Protest is patriotism" can't agree more!!
Y2Jay Does Asia ...not really a good thing to judge another culture by transposing your own culture's mores on them. Doesn't work like that in the real world... Not if you want it to work anyway...
Yeap! Chinese should be more open minded!
Yeah I think the boys still want to have a chance of getting their Chinese visas renewed. Encouraging Chinese to protest and criticize their government is a sure way to make sure you never get your Chinese visa renewed.
not the government but society and how they function.
is sepertza doing a transporter cosplay?
Great video; good on ya mates! Keep up the informed positivity!!
your channel is really amazing so far. im on a tear and im prolly gunna sub.
This channel is the reason I have a new found respect and interest in China. I've learned so much about the country and the culture and I'm now interested in visiting the country rather than thinking it's some crazy unlivable communist state. Seems most Chinese people are overwhelmingly decent, contrary to popular opinion here in the US. Thanks for shedding light on this widely misunderstood topic.
To be honest Chinese people don't like unbiased opinions despite claiming to, they only like positive opinions about China. But don't worry about the 50 cent army and easily triggered Chinese trolls, there will always be rational Chinese like myself who will support your channel.
I am new to your channel (2 weeks) but it is my FAVORITE channel by far!!!. I teach English in Germany,`. Im English, and really enyjoy your filming!!! I am inspired to get my long forgotten Phantom drone out !!!!
You guys are awesome!
keep it up Winston and Matt! just keep being honest and the majority will support you. even Chinese 😊 safe travels to NYC!
Lol! Canada has the discount version of Thanksgiving!
Mundy Lunes I laughed at this also. 🤣
Very enjoyable videos, I have never been to China but I have the feeling to learn something about this country. Besides, these two guys are really cool 😎
I've been watching you guys for years and i've only seen mostly positive comments... Until today, i sorted by "newest first". I really like you guys and enjoy your videos. Keep it up.
I think that what Cmilk said about the prying questions is also a cultural difference; Chinese people might be more inclined to ask difficult questions that an American would avoid? Personally, I noticed this difference alot when dealing with Americans as a Dutchman.
I like your videos. I do think the titles, ESPECIALLY the CAPITAL LETTERS highlighting buzzwords, sometimes give the wrong impression as to the focus/direction of the video, at first glance... not all the time, but sometimes
PS your indicator is probably on
Yeah mate the titles are due to the way CZcams works
I love the transcontinental connection and winston, your tacit homage to Jason Statham in The Transporter!
Hey guys thanks for the videos. I was in Japan from 16 as a homestay student and became an orphan. Long story short the host family adopted me and spent 15 years there. It was a crazy ride and came back to the U.S. last year. I love your views of China.
china sounds like 1984 citizens
I am Chinese American and I can't agree with you both gentlemen more on what you guys are saying here!
@@ThomasWong54 And here you, Thomas, are being such an utterly poor example of China with making such insulting, deragotory responses!
Since you dislike Americans so much, what are you doing with an English first name??
Thanks for explanation. Now I understood you guys more.
it looks so fun to motorcycle through that city, definitely adding to the bucket list
I have to tell you both that the content and positions that you all have presented are remarkable, and with a certain amount of intellect and open-mindedness a person gets your message. I know how to size people up pretty well, I am a reasonably good judge of character, and I get the distinct idea behind why you both went to China for the specific purpose of describing what you experienced with honesty and not simply reaching for the lowest possible meaning intent on offending the country and the nation of China. I have never seen that as your motivation in making these Vlogs. People know the truth and those that get butt hurt so quickly and easily are welcome to come to America and make your observations and most will simply shrug and say well you may have a point there. Instead of simply cursing out two foreigners who happen to be grounded and centered and have devoted significant time in this country and know from whence they speak.
@ADVChina @C-Milk Come to Romania! Our food is plenty salty!
Good job on the video. I think you guys really experienced Chinese life and give some thought to every topic. I stayed in china for 2 years now. I love it and hate it. You guys really gave me some perspectives on some Chinese phenomenon, which makes my life easier. Please continue to make more video.
Thanks a lot for your films BTW :D
1. There are many trolls on the internet.
2. Don't be effected by negative comments, do yourself, or you will be glass-hearted.
Don't try to persuade people who hate you, especially on the internet.
i love watching your videos as i will visit china soon and it gives me an insight to the culture
Winston you do a great job of having to walk on eggshells in your videos trying to inform us about Chinese life. I couldn't do it as well as you do. Great job
one suggestion: turn off the subtitle of all the videos. then only the educated Chinese ppl can understand.
How do you turn on subtitles?
My wife is Chinese and would love to watch these videos.
Guys,
maybe it is time to change your overall direction a little bit. In this day and age we are too much about comparison and competition, which always leads to conflict. Never compare apples and pears, no?
The reason why I joined all your channels was to see beautifully exotic, raw, unfiltered pictures from another (your) wonderful country.
You chuckled about Chinese wishing you Happy Thanksgiving! :) I had Americans wishing me the same, completely unaware it was a US - only holiday. When it comes to naivete and unawareness of rest of the world, each country is the same. As a Swede you will not know about the German states, ... or as a South African about the states of the USA. In your last video, Winston you did not even know if Maryland was a state. :)
Everyone is naive about something and ignorant about something else. It does no good to focus on pointing these issues out constantly. What people like about your channel most is the chance to travel to your home country, through your eyes, sit on your bikes with you , drive to villages alongside your channel, experience China.
We don't really want to know what Chinese are bad at, show more of what they do good? Visit factories, farms and schools, local youth projects, clubs, go for a drink again! Do another documentary like your 'Conquering Southern China' , that was bloody brilliant and everyone loves it - because you are fair and lovely.
Just my 'two yuan' - as a loooong time subscriber!
Love you guys! Don't think I will ever get the opportunity to visit China. So it is great to see the cultural differences and what comes with living there. Thank u guys, prozzi, too.
Had your videos on while I worked and this one came up again. Didn't realize you were in Byhalia Mississippi! Just 45 minutes away from me. Very small town. Lol love the videos
