    Hello and welcome.
It's Tuesday July 16th here in Korea and you're watching Issues and Insiders.
Today we address the lives of North Korean refugees here in South Korea and their observations with regard to oppression in North Korea.
For more I have Kim Il-hyeok a North Korean refugee who is now an active advocate for human rights.
    Il-hyeok it's a pleasure.
I also have Kwon Soa with us.
    Soa welcome.
    1) Il-hyeok, let's begin with the story of your journey from North Korea to South Korea.
    2) Soa, what is the latest with regard to the North Koreans who choose to cross the border into South Korea?
    3) Il-hyeok, how do you explain the growing presence of young as well as elite North Koreans choosing to leave their country for life elsewhere?
    4) Soa, July 14th has been designated as a special day just for North Koreans who have chosen to permanently leave their country for another.
Do tell us more about this designation by the Unification Ministry here.
    5) And Soa, do share with us the results of a survey on North Koreans regarding their lives here in South Korea.
6-1) And Il-hyeok, what was most challenging about life in South Korea for you?
6-2) Il-hyeok, what do you believe are some of the crucial factors that the government here needs to consider to allow for the assimilation of North Koreans into life in South Korea?
    7) Meanwhile Soa, North Korea's rampant human rights violations have been making headlines in recent times.
This being said, what efforts have been made thus far to address the atrocities?
8-1) Il-hyeok, last August, you shared at the UN Security Council the shocking state of human rights in North Korea.
Do share some of those details with us as well.
    9) Soa, the work of a UN panel that monitors North Korea came to an end earlier this year upon Russia's veto.
Do remind us about that event and the current efforts to address it?
    10) Il-hyeok, let's end with your words regarding ways to better tackle North Korea's human rights abuses.
    All right.

Why is the figure so low?
Perhaps its not the dictatorship you describe.
I see videos of Pyongyang, its literally a worker's paradise, heaven on earth, where people enjoy the greatest standard of living. They are united under the leadership of the dear leader. I could not say it better even with 10 heads.😊😊
