Farms in the base game for Cities Skylines are very important for your city's success, they help provide goods for your commercial zones and shops to sell and also for those goods to be bought by your people.
this is not part of the industries DLC and this is the RCI farming

Is the zone designated a farm area using the OLD district not the industries one
@@BluecoconutFamily you have to be kidding me. i made a planned big farming, oil, ore area (different areas) and i need to use old district? or have i missed something? i deleted the plans and made center of a city because it never built it
@@RealADnE It depends on what type of farms you want, if you want the old style RCI farms then use this method of the old district and just zone it, but if you want the industries one you have to use the farming industry districts

Thanks for the video, I just set out a farming district and nothing happened, I thought I did something wrong, but it was exactly the same as you did. Maybe my demand for their products is too far away? The logic of CS baffles me at times! Just gonna check out your farming update video (17:12 one) re the new industries DLC stuff.
The demand is there. Have you grown enough workers first? I've learned to put in most or all the transport routes before letting buildings/farms grow, and if they're distant a fast multi-lane road (I've taken to elevating them as per a tip on the game-loading screen, with high speed limits) from which cars and buses are banned. This moves goods superfast and avoids congestion. I now often keep cars/buses separate from lorries. Emergency vehicles and city services i.e. hearses, garbage trucks, park maintenance, have access to all roads, and often the outside lane reserved for them. The hearses must get through :-)
@@prva9347 Thanks. After watching your Industries DLC videos I gave up on the basic stuff and went for the DLC versions which are going great, apart from the traffic congestion around silos, thank gawd for the move option. Lane choices traffic makes seems to need an overhaul from the makers, I'm sick of laying out 6 lane roads and only getting one lane used because of turns down the road. At least those hearses (and cops) are prepared to switch lanes :) Thanks again for the great videos.

Man you couldve just said "Make farming district, zone industrial" in 30 seconds and then spent the next 7.5 minutes talking about the rest of the farming specialization. This is the most basic and obvious information possible regarding farming.

Not really, your stores are like restaurant's and supermarkets. It's mainly for industry imports and exports.
I did all that but no farms came
It was probably because there was no demand for Industrial areas.

For it to work i had to build a town near by that was decently sized then the farm came up after a while.
