I always find it funny when a mechanics car breaks on the road My dad was one and I remember him changing an engine belt on one of his cars when I was a little kid on the side of the road.
Are you old enough to remember valve seals would harden, break off ,get sucked up into the oil pump seizing the pump, breaking the roll pin holding the distributor gear thus car stalling ? It always turned out removing oil pan, timing cover etc ….. Good job for a day or two. New seals, timing gear and chain ( get rid of the nylon gears) , oil pump ,waterpump. Ford not the only one that had issues but this job was a real cash cow for us. We used to joke that we bought timing chains by the roll! GM was just as bad then with camshafts!
@buffystclair9042 when I started in 1991 midas and Meineke had enough brakes exhaust work we didn't do anything else Later in life I became a real mechanic
Found On Roadside Dead, why I have dodges and slip past like a failing transmission, lol. Just kidding around, all vehicles have issues big or small. :)
WHY did you keep going with low oil pressure? Could have made the difference between getting an oil pump and needing an engine. Gotta get towed either way.
When buying any vehicle with a 5.4 you have to upgrade the oil pump to a melling. Lockout the cam phasers/tune. Then seafoam the heck out of it and boom. Your 5.4 is reliable as tbe 4.6 in the crown vics. $1000 (canadian) in parts will save the engine. Maintenance maintenance maintenance!
@@anthonynastasi4098Autocorrect? "Sent if"? What about the question about if the vehicle was running Valvoline Restore and Protect? Yes or No, I'd like to think R&P (or any other properly rated/topped off Oil) wouldn't cause a failure like that ... But would be interesting to see what is discovered hopefully upon repair... Will the Engine survive to see the road again?
@@John-ev8vj it's possible the time chain tensioner and phasers were worn slightly nosies in start warm ever so slight I believe mechanical parts failures will happen but can be prevented if it already was not worn out.so if the previous pwer did better maintenance it may have mad 300 over 200 k abused I try to save it w better maintenance
Nahh don’t need a shirt it’s hotter than a mf out there ! Didn’t you know Barry wants us all to buy electric cars ! Too bad those are overpriced junk. Hopefully your engine isn’t scrap ,maybe you can rebuild it .

A true FORD= Found On Road Dead 😂
Found on bridge dead
The PLUMBER never has good plumbing.
Take it to Pep Boys
2004-2010 trucks are probably the worst run of F150's......the 3V 5.4 have weak oil pumps. The 3V is one of fords worst engines.
I have one a few with over 200k and still running really strong. But overall, not a good engine. And underpowered to boot.
Hope you get off that bridge and home safe.
