Thank you! I've had snaggit for at least a couple years now and never knew I could do this - lol. This will help me immensely with screenshots of some longer spreadsheets.
The spreadsheet comment is useful. Getting data from a webpage? Scrolling capture then Grab text, done. You may have to tweak columns a bit but it beats typing!
The scrolling feature works great, on web pages that are not too long. If the web page is very long, the resultant output is very hard to read, or not truly readable. Would like to see scrolling web pages be outputted to specific paper sizes in either portrait or landscape mode. Thank you for a truly great product.
Sorry about this! We're working on a way to avoid this from happening. In the mean time, if you use the automatic scrolling capture arrows, there is no toolbar in that workflow so you'll get a clean screenshot.
Great tool !!! Just an additional question, is it possible to keep the original quality of the document, in contrast to the drop in picture quality after capturing a screenshot?
The quality is limited by the quality of the screen you're capturing. To get higher resolution of a document, you can zoom in before taking the capture.
@@_snagit Thank you for the response. I did zoom it and the quality improved, however it could only capture the entire page in patches and not as original.
I don't get the scrolling capture button appearing - I only have 'capture an image' , 'record a video' or ' launch a panoramic capture' .... no scrolling capture button
Adam is correct, Panoramic and Scrolling are the same thing. Newer versions of Snagit will say scrolling and older versions will still refer to panoramic.
Scrolling capture delivers a still image. If you want a gif of a scrolling page, you'd select your area, record a video, then when you're done scrolling down and back up (assuming you want it to loop) hit the "Gif" button on the video player controls in the canvas window.
Automatic scrolling capture doesn't work everywhere, some websites are not set up well for it, but it should work in most apps, and in a good number of websites. We do have a manual scrolling option as well that works everywhere, but you control the scrolling.
Hi, We are working on shrinking the install footprint, we used to be close to 1 GB, but we've made some great improvements while still adding great new features!
Literally just doesnt work, only screenshots the selected area despite scrolling. Also takes suspiciously long to download and operate. Do not download this.
Hi, Sorry that it gave you trouble! If you reach out to our support team we can help figure out why it didn't work for your case. bit.ly/techsmith-help There are some cases where automatic scrolling capture doesn't work, and for those you can use manual scrolling capture which should work pretty much everywhere.
Why the hell should I have to pay for something that Samsung Galaxy does for free!!? The second you said free trial, I skipped to the next video after.👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼
Did you zoom in? Depending on how long you scrolled they can get pretty narrow (appearing), but you should still be able to zoom in at regular resolution when complete. In fact, if you upload to our free Screencast service (when you hit "Share Link), you'll be able to view it so that it fits into a window easily too.

In Chrome: control shift i, control shift p, enter "screenshot" in the command line and select full screen.
Just logged in to say you are a GENIOUS!!! Thank you very for this tip!
Damm Bro!
holy man, thanks bro
Loved the presentation.
i love it! SO UNDERRATED!!
I haven't used the software yet but I'll just say Erin's energy is awesome in this video.
FANTASTIC! I hated needing to capture a page and a half without the scrolling feature. Works like a charm. Thanks Tech Smith.
Excellent tool and your style for explaining. Thanks :)
What a time saver!!!
Thanks! I don't know if anyones told you this before, but your voice reminds me of Kristen Schaal!

I don't know but when i do a rolling screenshot, the Snaggit tool bar is included in the screenshot

I followed the directions precisely and ended up with just a regular old-school screen shot. The part that I scrolled through is gone.
Oh no! Do you mind reaching out to us via a support ticket so we can figure out why it's not working for you? bit.ly/techsmith-help

can I create a Gif from the scrolling capture?

Need a registration to even try a trial version. Not cool. Nice bait though
Registration doesn't require anything other than your name and email. We're not even asking for you're credit card info. What's not cool?
doesnt work (i tried to capture on fb comment)

oh my god? 507 MB for Snagit?

too pricey
What would be your ideal price range for software that does still image, scrolling image, and video capture (not to mention editing)?
@@_snagit Free with advertising, naturally.

Snagit can take a scrolling capture of more than just web browsers, and we do so much more than just that one feature!
What a waste of time. I ended up with a long thin image that was useless

not for free dislike
@mahadunne1120 Panoramic is the same as scrolling capture
