yo.. that slowed down 28 gun bad boy..
true legend pushing and progressing to this very day
I have seen him play live 3 times,
most advanced live electronic music I have ever heard
his stamina is incredible, played for 3 hours each time, every time unique in its own way
truly takes you on a journey and understood what everyone needed at each turn on the dance floor
    technomage
    thank you Gerald

I recently bought his Jungle album on vinyl, and that's one of my "never, ever get rid of no matter what" records. I want my kids to have it.

I love Guy called Geralds album "Black secret technology" i think it's one of the best jungle albums ever,so no disrespect but here he doesn't really seem to be doing much really, relative to whats possible in terms of "live" electronica, but whatever, nice to see the guy behind the music and undoubtedly a legend, just feel like it might have been more interesting to look into his composition process.

The static audience could have interacted more, asked a few questions etc.

funny that every instagram musican complains about those roland boutique boxes ("roland dont listen to its customers", "too small buttons", "dont sound like the original", "wäääh") while the legends like a guy called gerald, omar-s and couple more just use them …

Probably produced the first accomplished, truly listenable techno/acid LP with 'Hot Lemonade'. Wasn't an easy thing to do back in 1989. To be fair it still isn't that easy now.

at 7:07 what did he do,or what was he doing on the laptop, and why the sound dropped out? He said he didn't want to spoil the groove, and it sounded like the kick drum dropped out, yet the rest of the percussion was still being compressed or ducked by the sidechain. What did he mean by getting rid of the automation?

    • @uv77mc85

      He had filters automated.

nothing against GCG but the UK electronic music is just passe ... it had it's stupendous run 1991 - 2010 ... but now, Pffft its just institutionalised business and selling synths.
