I hope heâs figured out a different hairstyle by nowâŠ
Everything about this interface is a dream, itâs 100%. Carbon is the absolute best. With that being said, Carbon shouldâve gone through a test on iZotope plugins before release.
Soma always making something interesting. To extend on the "magnetic handles" Idea, use a gyro/accel built-in each to add even further control using the angle/movement/speed as modifiers to control whatever elements of the sound you'd like.
Why the he'll are the sound fx the loudest thing in a film these days? When you look back to John Ford films the music sets the scenes in more sedusive way. Nowadays it's bang crash wallop, turn the volume down on remote and can't hear the quite dialogue and the softer dynamics of the scores. I need a Waves rider fader for the TV remote.
Great
Get a new guy to rep your products, TE! Sounds like he thinks the product is pretty meh.
Notepad 8FX has a very cheap delay effect. When we select reverb and delay together, the reverb gets delayed along with the delay, effectively overriding the reverb. This is a very annoying effect to hear. They will need to do something about it.
A good attempt at a documentary video and I tried to like it a lot. Only thing is, most of Alex's music examples we could have done without. The video ended up looking and sounding like a commercial for Alex Bell music rather than a historical document. Cheers
Imagine a documentary about synths without actually hearing the synthsâŠ
@@jelte_music I can imagine a synth video without hearing from you!. Cheers
first time i came to this video i have no idea what he was talking about. the more i learn and occasionally return to what he was talking about the more i understand
I love this video, and being of a "certain age" the equipment is quite recognizable, Tubes aged, calibration drifted, but it sure made some wonderful music! Although I got into the studio a little later (Neve consoles and Studer A800 era) The thing to remember is that stereo was so very new, in the 50's and 60's and even George Harrison said "why do you need two speakers? They felt the Beatles should be heard in mono, George, Paul, John and Ringo in one big room at Abbey Road-EMI. Also the time the child/teen bought that 45 RPM record, the record players (not exactly a turntable) - was generally brutal. And studio mic placement was pretty much, here's your mic, hit record and go. It was really the Beatles that revolutio(ized) recording. Which drove George Martin crazy at first - John was the most experimental.. In any case, thank you for the wayback machine! BTW, my signal chain is as analog as possible, I use outboard Dangerous Music, Universal Audio, SSl, Neve - Just call me an old fashioned analog gal. đ
I want this thing so freaking bad.. arghhh..
That was hilarious (and thoughtful)! Sam reminded me of the character 'Holly' in Red Dwarf. In my opinion, just the act of going to a Studio with a good live room and a good desk room really elevates a band to do something special. There's nothing like doing an overdub in the live room and getting the thumbs up from the rest of the band behind the glass in the desk room. Part of it is having all the good gear the studio has being available to you to. Just make sure that you have rehearsed the living daylights out of everything as a band before you spend the money and go to as Studio. It can be all over in a couple of sessions... and it'll sound awesome!
I find the constantly shifting camera angles confusing because it's sometimes hard to spot which room is being used at the time. During the actual demonstration the rooms should be also shown and switched in the same order as they are introduced in the first half of the video.
To my ears the XLS sounded the most natural and true at capturing the various instruments that were recorded. They might not give the sparkle & glitz of the EB & XL II, but I feel theyâre more accurate and a neutral starting point to work from. The TL II wouldâve been great to include in this shootout.
I have an opeth album that was mastered from Abby road at half speed just check the matrix and yup it says âMiles Abby roadâ
Cool and is there any way to upgrade the memory?
Just about done and ready to release this update. It gives you 35 seconds at 48 KHz. Lower the sample rate and you get more. You can also lower the bit depth to 12 bit or 8 bit. There are up to 8 multi-samples across the keyboard for a single part, and you have four parts total to work with. Up to 32 different samples if you want. You can loop or play samples as one-shot. The looping includes equal power or equal volume crossfading with crossfade lengths up to the full length of the loop. Each sample is individually tunable. The 3rd Wave shows up as a hard-drive on your computer, so store or swap out the sample memory whenever you want. Any or all of the three oscillators can play an independent set of samples, or PPG waves, or modern user waves, or virtual analog into the SSI2140 filters and backend.
Glad we're getting synths with more than 6 voices nowadays
Great concept, I love the approach đ
This will pair nicely with my Meng Qi Wingie!
You know they take analog seriously when they decide to show animations with a flip book.
I already love this keyboard. I really donât think it needs sampling, especially given the low amount of memory for 2024. Importing and creating wavetables seemed like enough already
Just got into mixing but after watching Karen I wish I could go back to those days, amazing.
another cable standard đźâđš
File under beautiful looking perpetual prototype
Legendry. Composing by trial and error method along with generous collaboration. There are composers who write notes on paper and magic happens when musicians just play it. No trial. No error. Just pure magic.
Sam: -Hello Michael! Michael: -Hello Michael! đ
Marketing agencies man⊠âdonât take away from the visualâ. The ad without sound: đđ€đ€
If I wanted to use sounds like this in a song, I would just use my synth, as most would, so I'm struggling to see the point of it other than a novelty. I think you'd quickly get bored with it and the only thing that would make it sound good is the marketing!
Yeah, somebody has gone way too far down the rabbit hole. Itâs kind of disturbing.
â@@asynchronicityHow tf is it disturbing? đ
@@Brendan-Black Ha, yeah too strong a word, granted. As a long time fan of both Korg and Tats to see them kind of stuck on this electric kalimba thing for so long stresses me out a little.
Just a little higher and we can see the oscilloscope:)
SORT OUT THE ARRANGE PAGE. A better way to move around sections of the song. Like presonus studio one for example,
Sounds great
when is ARA2 upgrade?
back when Sos was more than a hundred vids from NAMM
Yeah but can i have one?
It looks cool, but the sound it creates. Just make an electribe like the emx1
Iâve lost track by now ⊠did they release their version of the 5 step sequencer and the big sequencer that could randomly jump locations but they could also be adressed via CV?
Yes, 245t
Legends makes themselves better everyday!
As always, thank you Sam.
just clip a lapel mic on your kalimba plug it into a guitar pedal or two call it done
Right but the sequencing decouples the musical information and the dynamic/timbral control which makes the interface different and interesting
Sounds great
Gorgeous!!
Damn that thing sounds awesome
Nice job TipTopâ€
The annoying background noise owns the day.
Meh, I was able to tune it out. I'm used to having to do that after years of making music, recording and mixing in a full house where noise really does "own the day." đ
Many CD's shoved 65 minutes, or more, of music at the listener. The ear does get tired of the same 'sound'. With vinyl and 20 minutes per side, we could remember another cool record we had and put that one on. I'll listen to the other side later. Don't Bogart that pinner, my friend, pass it over to me. And so it goes.
Oh I will buy that System 100%. So nice
not many know this.. Aditya Modi acted as a child artist in Nayagan movie as Kamalhasan's grandson.. my dream of becoming a sound engineer just flew out of the window due to financial constraints because in Chennai there was only SAE institute back in 2001 which was charging Rs.1.5 lakhs for a sound engineering course.. I didnt want to burden my Dad, so I met the legendry Mr. H Sridhar in 2001 and unfortunately he said he doesnt have an open spot in his team.. so as an Indian middle class guy i had to bury my dreams and went on to complete MBA, work for different corporates and settled in the US. After family and kids i consoled myself that there is a reason for everything.. so i always envy these guys Adithya Modi, Suresh Permal and Karthik đ†cheers to you guys, you are at least doing what you love in life.. ARR Sir you are a great inspiration to all of us.. Especially i admire you so much for The Sunshine Orchestra.. â€
THe phase8 stole the show for me last year... even more excited now. Glad to see this is developing along nicely.
It's beautiful. Why isn't this on your site. I was expecting to be able to preorder.
