if you get “Cannot Modify Built-In Engine Asset” Modeling Tool Error, you need to create the cube or whatever from the "Modelling Mode" and not the built-in UE assets.
This is excellent, thanks. I saw your previous version, and I was doing the same thing, though I used C4D rather than blender (I'd been using C4D for decades and so was more familiar with it). but this is probably the next step towards me not needing to use 2 apps - I will just be able to use UE5. now I just have to learn how to *create* materials as quickly and simply as I can in C4D
If anyone's trying to do this in UE4, if you enable the plugin "Modeling Tools Editor Mode", then I believe this should work in UE4 aswell. Edit: Be careful though, upon enabling the beta plugin and restarting, it had to recompile shaders and was taking A LONG time, I gave up and disabled the plugin thru opening the ue project file in a text editor though. YMMV.
my only problem is it assigns the same texture to every other identical mesh. Like I have a lot of walls and when i do this to one one it does it to every wall and it matters which way they are facing.
Well, that's one more thing people on the forums said was impossible to do in Unreal that i end up finding the way to do in youtube... Never trust people on the forums, apparently they know as much as us beginners!
again, great job bringing everyone along as you're continuing to learn. i'm using ue5, but can't find "model" mode... searched menus and context searches, but can't find it. i have select, landscape, foliage, mesh paint, fracture, brush editing and animation. i looked thru fracture and mesh paint, but couldn't find model mode features you showed. do i need to enable that mode somehow?
Been looking for a tutorial like this for so long! although I ran into a problem where the icons in the attributes panal are not able to be selected. I have the objected active and everything it's just I can't use the mat. ed. icon
@@BAYqg I converted the skeletal meshes to static meshes, then I was able to use these other tools. I don’t know if there is any other solution but at least this worked for me
I have been using blender for like 8 or 9 months for arch-viz mainly , now after i discovered the power of the unreal engine "lumen" mainly for Realtime render, I was thinking to mainly model in blender and do all textures and renders in unreal, what do you think of that, plus any tips on how the workflow should be, better still if you can make a detailed video explaining briefly that would be awesome man if have discord I would like to converse with you abt it if u want ps: much love for this small tutorials
Hi nice tutorial, but I wanted to ask you if it is possible to do the opposite, that is, I have a lidar scan of a mesh with two materials and I wanted to transform them into a single material. Is this possible in unreal engine or in blender? Thanks.
Nice one King. Needed this. Subbed
Thank you! Unreal 5 is pretty amazing, most things are simple to create, and complexity can be built from multiple simple objects.

Subbed! the way you research and explained the theory so clear and way better than others! Thank you so much for sharing
Awesome, thank you!
Thanks so much man, you just helped with my college coursework after i missed a bunch of lessons!!
It's kinda sad that it took me half a hour to find this.... This one really needs to get the first you find for this problem!
Thank you :)

Awesome video this is going to help out loads thank you
Thats handy. I never ventured up there. That helped me. Thanks!

Great tutorial!! but MatEd cannot be selected (for skeletal mesh). What could be the reason for this?
wow been looking so long for video like this
Was that what i needed. Thanks!
Glad it helped!
wow! thank you so much this is gold. Really appreciate you taking the time to make these!

What a Tutorial ! Thank you brother

hi.. i have rig on my vehicle and attributes are greyed out.. how can I do it on rigged objects? thx
does anyone have a link to the blender tutorial because im using ue4 and it doesnt have this functionality

You will need to enable it in plugins and then restart the editor.
Thank you for the video, but we ask you to speak a little slower so that Yandex translates the text we are from Russia.
Hello, I will speak slower in future tutorials to help with the translations!
Cannot modify built in engine asset cube
Now it makes you use poly box because it says this simple cube asset cannot be edited
I made a whole palace before realizing this

Did you find a solution to this? I can't use these tools either, MatEd cannot be selected:/
@@Fslntwelve any updates?

Thanks brother!
Is there a way to select faces normally in this mode? Brush is unwieldy for detailed meshes...
Thank you! The UI is not intuitive at all!

you got the right idea! I'm starting in blender with rigging animation and then unreal. It's way better for rendering movies
