  • It’s graduation season for our #NewAstronauts! 👩‍🚀🎓👨‍🚀
An class of 11 Americans and two Canadians became astronauts on Friday, increasing the number of those eligible for spaceflight assignments that will expand humanity’s horizons in space for generations to come. The new astronauts successfully completed more than two years of required basic training and are the first to graduate since the agency announced its Artemis program.

During his time in the SEAL teams, he served with Task Unit Bruiser in Ramadi, Iraq in 2006. While there, his commanding officer was none other than Jocko Wilink. He also served alongside SEAL legends like Chris Kyle, Marc Alan Lee, Mikey Mansoor, Leif Babin, and Tony Eafrati. What a badass!

@Kent Horvath his military background proves his mental endurance, ability to work under pressure and perhaps technical skills. Nowadays every spacecraft is automated and there is no point to having so many pilots. There is only a need for a handful, if any. I believe that on a mission to mars or the moon the crew should really only consist of researchers and medical personnel, perhaps 2 pilots but even that will not be necessary in the future.

How do you figure that this isn't International, especially when NASA has been talking about partnering with other countries to the Moon, Mars, etc? Canada has already committed to working with the US all the way to the Moon and Mars. I don't doubt that there will be partnerships with Jaxa, ESA, and others. We've been working with the Russians in space for years despite political tensions. We might not work closely with China, but even that won't necessarily mean we won't work with them at all.
