Fixing Your Marlec Solar iBoost PV Controller: Utter Carnage Repair !

This Marlec Solar Iboost solar PV immersion Controller was sent in by a customer that had seen a previous repair video on youtube. The unit had experienced a fault and had blown the internal fuse. Unfortunately the customer had decided to bridge the fuse, which is there to protect the components down stream of the fuse. This then meant that components further down the line from the fuse took the full brunt of the failure, vaporising circuit board traces and blowing up multiple components, making a right mess of the board. Luckily we were eventually able to find all of the blown components on the motherboard and managed to revive the unit, ready to send back to the customer.
