Suprised to see Joueur du Grenier in a Icarus video, quite an unexpected surprise! I can confirm that all weapons are indeed references to some more memorable parts of his french version of AVGN videos Now for a fun fact; in french the game therm "collectathon" is very unpopular and barely heard of, making collectathon game hard to describe; it's Joueur du Grenier who coined the now fairly popular "paw game" to refer to collectathons (in reference to the SNES collectathon game "the lion king" where you collected hundreds of paw-shaped coins).
@@matt92hun I think the meme imply that the "whatevr we have at home" whould be a downgrade, but not really, back in 2008 in was pretty on par, and he continues to make humoristic videos that are videogame-themed up to this day, the from changed over the yers but the content is still there, well humor wise at least
Next week that'll be the beginning of the review of the OCs. And well, that's were you'll surely see the most variety in terms of ideas on Doom compatible gameplay.
If you wanna get all the references for the Joueur du Grenier one: - The Flip Off is a reference to one specific shot of an episode where he flips his two birds up and then summons a third one. - Infogramme is to JDG what LJN is to AVGN. Just slightly more so diabolical. - The impacts of the Infogramme gun are paws. JDG calls Collectathons "Paw games" (Jeux a patounes), because the only collectathon he ever played was the Lion King on PS1, which is boring as shit, and in it you collect paws. - The ducks are a reference to JDG's superhero counterpart, Canardman. Read; Duckman. Basically Batman but with Ducks. - The Phone summons Fisti, a theme park mascot with an obsession for fisting. Bob Lennon, a local CZcams celebrity and kind of the equivalent of a Yogcast member but without the dwindling sub numbers. And Doug Walker. Because he was a major character in two episodes. - You might have noticed a shrugging guy. It's Seb playing David Goodenough, a slacking developer who codes poorly and calls it a day. Also a real person. - The rock is a callback to Dark Castle, a game JDG reviewed and that he personally recalls as being his least favourite game. - The Uzis are references to "Jake of the 99 Dragons", which he reviewed. He thought the guy was just jiggling his guns at random. That, or a slight jab at JDG because he's an avid Tycoon player but he is horrendous with FPSs. - The Shout is a reference to the RPG specials where JDG plays Swearborn. The Dovaahkin from Skyrim, but he yells insults instead of FUS-RO-DAH. - The pie is a sentient Frangipani who happens to be Space Jesus. - The Ghostbuster gun is a Ghostbuster gun. Because he made a Ghostbuster episode. Theres a joke about their guns being too darn bright.
Also, although not shown in the video, the phone can also summon a guy that shouts. It's also Seb but playing this time Jean-Michel Bruitages, and he produces the sound that first introduced this character: the death scream of the scorpion enemy from Excalibur 2555 A.D.
Tbf, Infogrames is the now current iteration of Atari after they bought them out, though I have seen their properties scattered across the four winds of the industry
Oh and another thing, you can hold the fire button to charge up the Infogramme gun which will give a tighter spread to it, making it more efficient at long range. It also change the impacts of it.
Jdg is known to ^lay the bad retro games and usually he goes in play swear a lot he does parody of things like the shout is from skyrim the duck is a batman one etc pretty fun too watch and is review are correct like it's not biast
I need help with the launch. When I launch zandronum with the mod in the console, it writes that sv_multimonsterhp is already there and needs to be deleted or something else I don't remember, I don't remember any other cvar or scvar. Help
If I'm not mistaken, AVGN's shotgun is the Light Rifle from the Magnavox Odyssey, which AVGN affectionately called "The Gun"
Tony's not having a heart attack; he's having one of his signature panic attacks because he ran out of gabagool
Uncle ben...!

Wich is added by the holes the infogrames gun do on walls. Man that mod really tought of everything
Is he "we already have AVGN at home" for the French?

@@obbscur2 I mean localised for a largely monolingual audience. But it sounds like he's going stronger than the real AVGN at least.

Homer's "EX" bar is pronounced "Eee Ex" and is a reference to fighting games.
Like mugen
Frigging Gabagool! 😂
Someone really ought to make a Binding of Isaac Doom mod.
thought that was a thing already?
It just wouldn't be right if Icarus knew the Joueur du Grenier part. The channel might ceased to exist (or worse).
Tony made me lose my shit, been awhile since I laughed that hard.
1:15 oh no, the incorrect walk animation. ☠
AHAHAHA BEST TRANSITION EVER 2:06
