This is my favourite ever song and it makes me smile seeing you react like that. Alter Bridge are the perfect band in my opinion, amazing musicianship, Myles Kennedy's incredible vocals, killer guitar solos, lyrics you can relate to and emotionally connect with. You don't just hear Alter Bridge's songs, you feel their songs. Their lyrics are meaningful and inspiring, their music is diverse, effortlessly switching from soft, beautiful, acoustic melodies to powerful, jaw dropping guitar riffs. I quickly got sucked in to the emotional journey Alter Bridge took me on, from losing loved ones, battling addiction and rising above to become a better person. Alter Bridge takes you on an incredible journey and that's why they're my favourite ever band. As others have suggested, listen to Alter Bridge - Words Darker Than Their Wings, live at the Royal Albert Hall. It's the best live performance I have ever seen. Keep up your great content.
Ross Bowden right on and could not have said better myself. Discovered them about 7 years ago. 59 now and I can say for me they are Number 1 all time for me!!🤘🤘
This is the best description I have ever read/heard of alter bridge put into words :) I 100% agree seriously Alter Bridge is beyond describing sometimes dude they are such a rare gem. One of a kind, they have made me cry, feel empowered, gave me goosebumps, made me headband till my neck hurts and just have some of the most powerful, memorable and relatable lyrics ever and on top of that i literally can FEEL the music especially out of thier 3rd album something just hit different in that album lol. I LOVE Alter Bridge and try to show other people them as much as possible. They seriously are so underrated it's criminal. I have listened to SO MUCH MUSIC and Alter Bridge is and more than likely will always be my favorite.
Your reaction is literally every fans reaction on hearing this song for the first time!!! So emotional yet so bloody good. I lost a dear friend a couple of years ago, way way way before his time. This song helped me get through it so much!!!
Your reaction says it all. ALL their stuff is of the highest quality. This is one of those bands that never disappoints. I hope you listen to more since it's obvious that you genuinely appreciate the talent.
Btw this song was composed by the singer Myles Kennedy in memory of the man (his friend) who sold him his first guitar, his words about the song were: "It's really about seeing the suffering he was going through and hoping he would find his solace soon and be free from all of that."
My favorite modern band... these guys are quality! Myles is in my eyes the best voice in rock right now, Mark is a BEAST on guitar! Modern day guitar god. Brian on bass is flawless and Flip on drums is killin it! This band is made up of the members of Creed, but with a great singer.
Wise man once said:,,you dont listen to Blackbird, you experience it" I think this man just showed us what was our first time hearing this song. There will never ever be a bankd like Alter Bridge i can guarantee it. SO much talent concentrated in these 4 guys - songwriting, melody, performing AND godly vocals. Once in a lifetime miracle and i am proud to say it was in my lifetime. Have a great day guys. H.
Had to come back and watch this after Sammys requested live version. Oh my God was right Fil. Such a raw reaction. One of your best mate. Glad you started your journey that day!
You NAILED IT when you said, "So much POWER in this!" & then again with "Masterpiece!" 💖🔥⚡🤘 For me, there's no such thing as too much Alter Bridge! ENJOY feeeeling it all as you experience more of their music!💖💖💖 ✅New Subscriber😊👍
The first time I heard this song was not long after Chris and Chester passed. When Myles sang “May you never be broken again” , I completely lost it . Been hooked on Alterbridge ever since. Powerful, beautiful, haunting song.🥺Your reaction was so honest and emotional, had me tearing up even more than I normally do hearing “Blackbird”❤️❤️❤️
YESSSS 🖤🖤 finally. !! He wrote this song about a close friend who died that sold him his first guitar. please react to “words darker than their wings”. The live royal Albert hall version. They got a full orchestra for their tour to play with them. This band is truly magical live. And also “in loving memory”. That Mark the guitarist wrote for his mother when she passed away.
At 59 I have heard some great ones no doubt but this song by This BAND is absolutely All Time Number 1 one my list. A complete emotional and musical overload to the max!!!! What a reaction and one I can relate to the first time I heard this and can listen to every day and one day will be able to play.
I heard them play this song live a few months ago in San Francisco and I was only about 20 feet from the stage (small venue) and I can only describe it as an out of body experience. One of the most beautiful things I've ever heard in my life...
One of the greatest guitar solos in modern music, in one of the most heartbreaking songs. If you want a change of pace as far as heaviness but with just as dark and emotional lyrics, check out Who Will Watch Over You.
Finally! Someone listened to the lyrics and understood them perfectly. This song is dedicated to the man who sold Myles Kennedy his first guitar and remained his friend until he passed away after a lengthy battle with an illness.
I didn't see anyone else point out yet that the solo is actually split....Myles Kennedy plays the first part and then Mark Tremonti plays the second part. MK is an awesome guitarist as well as the best voice in rock at the moment IMO. As well as the AB songs that others have suggested, I'd like to suggest the song Anastasia by Slash with Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators.
This song was written by Myles Kennedy's for a friend of his named Mark Morris. Mark Morris gave Myles his first guitar. The rest is history. Absolutely beautiful tribute to his friend.
I haven't even pressed play yet, and I'm already excited! One of my all time favorite bands. Myles Kennedy's voice is incredible and so very distinctive. Favorite songs: Brand New Start, Open Your Eyes, Watch Over You, and Ties That Bind.
I can never experience this masterpiece for the first time ever again but I love watching someone else watch it for the first time and feel like it did.... ❤
Indeed this track PACKS A PUNCH! I've been following Alter ridge since I heard "Cradle to the Grave" and they are just so different from any other bands. Every time I replay their music, it's always without fail getting goosebump all over me! I love them!
Alter Bridge is the most underrated and hugely talented band out there. This song is their "Stairway to Heaven". It is a perfectly executed masterpiece. They have 6 albums, all are terrific. Glad you finally found them.
This song was written for the man who sold him his first guitar and became close friends and a mentor through the years. He recently died and Myles wrote this song
According to Myles Kennedy (the lead singer), the song was about a good friend of his who passed away. That friend sold Myles his first guitar as a kid, and I believe he taught him a bit as well. The death of him affected Myles quite a lot, so he dedicated this song to him. :) Also, if you're into emotional songs, another one of my favorite AB songs is called "In Loving Memory" and was written by the guitarist Mark Tremonti after his mother passed away. It's more of a ballad, but it's really good. :)
That is the reaction this masterpiece deserves! On another channel, 2 people were listening to this song, where all the harmonies, all the changes of tone and rhythm, all the chords and styles mesh together like perfectly oiled and coordinated gears, and they were arguing about whether Miles Kennedy's name sounds like an important person or a gangster! This song is practically everything that metal is! It's one of those songs I never get tired of hearing.
I have been an alter bridge fan since one day remains (first album). I love watching recent reaction videos to people just now discovering this band. They truly are the greatest band of my generation. With that said, this is hands down, the greatest reaction video to this song I’ve ever watched. A lot of channels just do the jaw drop, talk about the lyrics meaning, like and subscribe. You absolutely got LOST in the song. And you were very emotionally drained by the end. Your reaction is how I feel every time this song is played (especially live). The tears, the goose bumps, the head banging. Welcome to the AB family. P.s. this is their second best song, I patiently await your words darker than their wings live Royal Albert hall video. Go ahead and cue up “walking on the sky” as my request. Fantastic song.
The lead singer of Alter Bridge, Myles Kennedy, has said before that there's a lyric in the song that was written for a friend of his who had passed away from cancer.
Welcome to the journey and adiction that we fans call Alter Bridge! Remember to keep your hands inside the vehicle at all times... Enjoy the ride my friend.
I think Tremonti is the best guitarist from the 90’s to now!! And it’s not even close. He may be one of the top ten guitarists of all time!!! His riffs are his own! No one has or does sound like him! He is a legend in my opinion!!!!!
Perhaps the most powerful Alter Bridge song is "In Loving Memory". The guitarist about recently deceased mother. Very emotional song that'll probably coax a tear or two... seriously.
Really glad you've gotten around to Alter Bridge! They're a truly phenomenal band and Myles Kennedy is probably the best vocalist in rock today. Thank you!
AB are one of my absolute favourite bands of all time. Myles Kennedy (the singer) has one of the most amazing vocals of all time. I recently had In Loving Memory played at my mom's funeral as it fit with everything I wanted to say and Mark (Tremontti) wrote it for his mom after she passed away so it was fitting. Check out Myles Collabs with Slash such as Anastasia, Far & Away, Apocalyptic Love or Halo.
It's off their 2nd album from 2007. Myles dedicated it to the guy who sold him his first ever guitar. Loved these guys since I first heard them in 2004.
This is not only my personal favorite track I've ever heard but also very close to my heart and soul...after my Father death I loved it more..than after my little brother was killed I clung on to this...this will be played at my funeral
I haven't seen a reaction here on youtube which was so physically and mentally intense like yours. This song came out of nowhere for you and it hit you like a train at full speed. And it is a masterpiece - a beauty.
From 21pilots to Alter Bridge, I see you're going for quality stuff! You should check out the first three albums, I used to listen to them non-stop! Check "In loving memory", dedicated to the guitarist's mother who passed away, it's a very emotional piece.
You know - from an artists point of view, if you create a song that touches just a single person - like this one touches you - then all the hours and all the days it took to finish the song were worth it.
Where to start... I am a first time viewer. Undoubtedly you popped up in my feed for this song because I have watched so many reactions to this song specifically, because I love it so much. It’s power and ability to stir the emotions, yes to the point of tears, not from the lyrics necessarily, but just from the pure, raw power and emotional delivery of the music and vocals. I’m a huge fan of Alter Bridge and Myles Kennedy and have been since their first album. But as everyone states this song is a masterpiece that stands on its own and really needs to be heard by the world. Many people react positively to this song, but watching you experience it for the first was like looking in the mirror and seeing myself listen to it. Music is my world and I’m a pretty passionate emotional guy in general, so something bringing me to tears isn’t necessarily that big of a shock, but it’s rare that I find someone else who can experience music on that same level. I already liked and subscribed just based on that. I hope you are now a lifelong Alter Bridge fan and take the time to discover the rest of their catalog. While this song will likely go down as their signature masterpiece, this is far from a one off. Their musicianship and attention to detail is just who they are. If we ever get out of this COVID Pandemic and back to some sense of normalcy, you have to find a way to see this band live. Until then, please check out the Live at Royal Albert Hall with the Parallax orchestra. Fortress, Cry of Achilles, so many to chose from, but how about “Words are darker than their wings” please and thank you. Take care and stay safe. czcams.com/video/fTvJ1TYORJg/video.html
Also I just want to add that while Myles is an incredible singer and Tremonti a monster guitarist, many don’t realize how much guitar Myles contributes, both rhythm and lead, and they complement each other so well and in doing so the differences in their styles give the songs another layer of depth and dimension. Take this song, Blackbird, for example. If you go back and listen again knowing what I just stated you’ll likely be able to hear the difference and tell the 2 apart. Myles is generally a more bluesy, emotional feel type player, Tremonti is more technical and can shred for days but both always play to fit the song so well. Solo part A - Myles, part B Tremonti, the outro lead which sounds like a mournful cry is Myles. Great stuff, great band. You can tell I’m a guitar guy, but no weak links here, bass and drums phenomenal as well.
Oh sorry, I should have checked first looks like you’ve already reacted to this one and some others from AB. I’ll go and check them out now. Looking forward to more. Thanks!
Oh wow man... thank you so much for the love and support man. ☺️❤️ I like yourself absolutely love for music and it goes without saying that I am a huge fan of AB... they just so special. And there is a lot more reactions coming to them. We will go down this entire rabbit hole. I can promise you that. ❤️ once again, thank you! ☺️
Really like your channel. You really try to HEAR the music, the instruments, the vocals and you truly appreciate each one. I can't wait till You see their live performance, then all the things your hearing...will blow you away even more.
Written for Myles' friend who passed away from a lengthy illness. His name was Mark Morris and sold Myles his first guitar. Can you imagine this world if he had never literally put music in Myles Kennedy's hands?
Alter Bridge!! Thanks for the reaction, this song is an endless goosebump party for me too... This group has no bad songs, and even when all will ask for Words Darker Than Their Wings live at Royal Albert Hall, Cry Of Achilles and Fortress, I will ask you to check Dying Light, from their latest album (I really love that song)... Thanks again for the reaction, instant like 😁👍
Great reaction man... one of my favourite songs of all times.. .the solo es so amazing... and the lyrics are spot on, sad, emotional and moving... subscribed!
The lyric is all Myles.. Not the whole song instrumental. But I'm knit picking cause who cares? I'm 46 years old and my son played it in his car and I burst into tears. I have heard everything in my life. In Afghanistan I was deployed listening to Slayer. You needed that high to go fucking without worry.....I went to high school at Lake Highland Prep in Orlando Florida. Scott Stapp was one of my best friends. They went on to be Creed...I will never bad mouth Scott.....I knew they broke up but no Idea they basically got Myles Kennedy and that was Alter bridge. .....I never knew about Alter Bridge till like I said my son was playing it in his car. I think he was testing me.?. I failed cause I know the song Blackbird from the Beatles. But the song after the intro was obviously not a cover. I was listening to those lyrics and I felt like this was the best song I ever heard in my life...That was in 2008. I still feel that way and have a hard time with some of Alter Bridge songs. Seeing my feels is not something I do much. My son knew how to get me......To this day Myles Kennedy and Mark Tremonti. amaze me....We just saw Myles October 8 in Orlando. Stripped down solo. Incredible!!!!!. I love this band toget and will go nuts to get ticks when they come. ...Bless you all. Thank you my man for letting me flow
So proud to say the lead singer Myles Kennedy is from my hometown, but there are so many songs you should listen to I love this band so much please listen to Watch over you, Rise today, Ghosts of days gone by, All hope is gone, Cour’de lane, Life must go on, Cry of Achilles, Isolation, Slip to the void, In loving memory, Metalingus,
SO happy you found AB and are loving it as much as many of us certainly have been! Aren’t they amazing? Well... carry on my friend. Fantastic review! Blessings, peace, and joy!!! ~ Amy
Alterbridge are awesome, and the majority of the members are from Creed, who I have seen live. Alterbridge In Loving Memory is also incredibly moving. Great review as usual. Love, love, love your reactions. From Wikipedia. Alter Bridge lead guitarist and founder Mark Tremonti, bassist Brian Marshall, and drummer Scott Phillips were members of the rock band Creed with lead vocalist Scott Stapp, achieving significant mainstream success in the late 1990s and early 2000s. After releasing two successful albums, My Own Prison (1997) and Human Clay (1999), Marshall left Creed in 2000, which was followed by the release of their third album, Weathered in 2001. The band became inactive in 2003 following the conclusion of a controversial tour. That year, Tremonti began writing new material with plans of forming a new band with Phillips and Marshall. Being fans of Myles Kennedy's former band, The Mayfield Four, they invited him to join as their new lead vocalist.[1] They named the new band Alter Bridge, after an actual bridge near Tremonti's home on Alter Road in Detroit, and subsequently began recording their debut album.[2]
Alter Bridge is an American rock band from Orlando, Florida. The band was formed in 2004 by vocalist/rhythm guitarist Myles Kennedy, lead guitarist Mark Tremonti, bassist Brian Marshall and drummer Scott Phillips. After their former band Creed became inactive in 2003, Tremonti and Phillips formed a new band with former bandmate Marshall and new member Kennedy; Alter Bridge was formally unveiled in January 2004, months before Creed's official breakup in June.
Alter Bridge is my absolute favorite band. Miles Kennedy wrote the lyrics about a friend who died. That friend gave Miles his first guitar. So it's a very personal and deep song. The other band members (Tremontti, Phillips and Marshall) were originally part of Creed. I must admit that Creed is my sentimental favorite band. But Alter Bridge is in a complete higher level. Listening to them is almost enlightening... at least for me.
This song, along with its namesake album, has been out for over 12 years now and it has never gotten old, I always come back to it. If you want another powerful piece from them, "Words Darker Than Their Wings" live, you'll have goosebumps all over again. Great reaction, thank you!
Great reaction to an incredibly powerful song! One of my favorite reactions in quite some time. I have seen some where they listen to the music, but not the lyrics (which bring huge depth and emotion to the song). Thank you!
NOW THAT IS THE REACTION THIS SONG DESERVES!!!! Awesome thanks!!!
absolutely... his face, amazed at every second. this is the best and funniest react ever kkkkkkk
YESSSS! Agreed 1000%
@@thefablesphere Oh yeah ! I second Words Darker Than Their Wings live at Royal Albert Hall !
Cry of Achilles, Fortress and Slip to the void a must!
Thirded...If you think Myles's vocals were great here - you'll flip out when you hear "words darker than their wings" live from Royal Albert Hall!

Antonio Rest well Mr Mark Morse.🙏
It actually was written before he passed away, he just ended up dedicating it him because it took on a whole new meaning when Mark got sick.

Sent you five other ones. They really rock song after song
I never heard them before, this is an awesome song!
Blackbird is the best song in the world since 2007.
The singer of this band is Myles Kennedy. He's the one I've mentioned before, doing a live version of Sound of Silence, with Disturbed.
A song about the guy that sold Myles his first guitar... past away of cancer ... this was the song in his memory.
Alter Bridge is one of my favorite bands of all time, loved to see someone appreciate it as much as I do, new fan of your channel now.

One of the greatest guitar solos in modern music, in one of the most heartbreaking songs. If you want a change of pace as far as heaviness but with just as dark and emotional lyrics, check out Who Will Watch Over You.
I actually agree with you! ❤️☺️
Just to let you know, the song is just called ‘Watch Over You”
With this guitar solo you don't need weed to fly.

My all-time favorite song from my all-time favorite band! Watching you react to this brought tears to my eyes...THANK YOU!!!

I keep coming back to this reaction
Best Alter Bridge reactions ever! I'm back here again on a binge! 👋
Seriously people...check out his Playlist!
Alter Bridge?? No way dude. My favorite band for the better part of the 2000s. Mark Tremonti is my favorite guitarist
If you want more Alter Bridge I suggest Cry of Achilles from the album Fortress
I think Tremonti is the best guitarist from the 90’s to now!! And it’s not even close. He may be one of the top ten guitarists of all time!!! His riffs are his own! No one has or does sound like him! He is a legend in my opinion!!!!!
@@TheRyanm153 I finally got to see him play live this year and he blew me away.
Thomas LaMotte I have seen him 1 time with Alterbridge and 5or 6 times when he was with Creed! Blew my mind ever time I watched him! Simply amazing!!
Tremonti is my favorite living guitarist..SRV is my favorite period..not a bad song from these guys
The lyrics of this song is simply magical. Your reaction sums it all.
I hope the band sees your reactions. As an artist I imagine it would mean more than a paycheck to see your art touch someone like this. ❤
Perhaps the most powerful Alter Bridge song is "In Loving Memory". The guitarist about recently deceased mother. Very emotional song that'll probably coax a tear or two... seriously.
Plenty more bangers like this in the back catalogue. Enjoy!
there's a live version of this that'll give you the back story of this song
Welcome to the Alter Bridge family! They are amazing and have so many great songs
They are 💯💯💯💯 amazing!
Really glad you've gotten around to Alter Bridge! They're a truly phenomenal band and Myles Kennedy is probably the best vocalist in rock today. Thank you!
We will be digging deep into them ☺️
My favorite band... im glad you reacted to this and hopefully have listened to more of their stuff.
Far and Away is beautiful. O,ly Starlight beats it as far as SMKC songs. There are not enough reactions to those songs other than Anastasia.
It's off their 2nd album from 2007. Myles dedicated it to the guy who sold him his first ever guitar.
Loved these guys since I first heard them in 2004.
Myles Kennedy, the lead singer who's also one of the guitarists, wrote this for his late friend who sold him his first guitar.
This is not only my personal favorite track I've ever heard but also very close to my heart and soul...after my Father death I loved it more..than after my little brother was killed I clung on to this...this will be played at my funeral
This is the sort of reaction that this masterpiece deserves. Great vid, great song.
Alterbridge is amazing. They are the former members of the band Creed with Myles Kennedy on vocals!!
Awesome that you discovered Alter Bridge. Love your reaction. you can also check out Myles Kennedy's solo album. Or Slash and Myles

Man, you must be the best guy to show this stuff to. It’s great seeing your reaction.
❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏
Written for Myles' friend who passed away from a lengthy illness. His name was Mark Morris and sold Myles his first guitar. Can you imagine this world if he had never literally put music in Myles Kennedy's hands?
Damn never heard this but i do like it! Great reaction my friend!!!
This band has been a big part of my life.
The other 2 emotional songs i recommend is In loving memory and watch over you.
The irony of a song saying "May you never be broken again" while it breaks Fable lol
Thanks again for the reaction, instant like 😁👍
💯💯💯💯 agree
~ Amy
loved that shared experience, so nice :) happy sunday and welcome to Alterbridge.
When they play it live you caan see me in tears every time😢
Alter Bridge is my absolute favorite band.
Thank you!
Their song In loving Memory is also beautiful
