This song introduced me to the wonderful journey of Alter bridge a decade ago
You talk about music changing your day. In 2004 I had a rock music channel playing on TV, and I happened to hear this song whilst doing some odd jobs round the house. It stopped me dead in my tracks, hooked firstly by the melody then increasingly by the singers voice. This song literally shifted my entire musical world, totally blew me away, and I’ve adored Alter Bridge since that day.

I'm so happy to see you appreciate Alterbridge as much as we do. What I love about this fan community is that we all recognise how special they are. I could easily list at least 30 songs to recommend, and I have recommened some songs for you to listen so I won't do that I'm sure you'll get to most of them in your own time. But seeing the comments I agree with all of the listed songs. They all show their musical talents and artistry.
I cannot agree more with you, they not only have great music but with a powerful message. Alterbridge helped me through years of anxiety and depression and to this day I listen to certain songs when I feel low. But there is one song that helps me build a fire in my belly and help me power through all the bullshit.. It's in the title itself.

Another Alter Bridge reaction, time to subscribe! ;) Just reminding: Cry of Achilles (official video) & Words Darker Than Their Wings (live at Royal Albert Hall) :) You must know that the vocalist, Myles Kennedy, is also a phenomenal guitarplayer. He played the first part of Blackbird solo, same thing with Cry of Achilles. If you want to compare Mark and Myles as guitarists, go check song "Fortress", they play freakin AMAZING duel/solo splited in 4 parts (Mark/Myles/Mark/Myles - in that order). Cheers!
btw. Myles recorded 3 albums with Slash (and two more songs on Slash's solo debut album), he was auditioned by Jimmy Page, Jason Bonham and John Paul Jones to sing in ressurected Led Zeppelin, project never came to fruition as there were some label'ish issues.

If you are impressed with Myles voice and vocal range you have to do “watch over you” live at billboard studio. It one of the most amazing vocal performances to me.

Another great Alter Bridge track is Coeur D'Alene. Super heavy bass and rhythm with Mark’s lead dancing around above that. Very relatable to anyone that has been away from home too long.

When a band has Myles Kennedy's voice and a guitar god like Mark Tremonti... yeah. No need to say more? :D Brand New Start, Watch Over You (the Billboard live is probably the best one), Broken Wings and/or Ties That Bind. (All my suggestions are from pre-2010, I liked the older albums more and have listened to the newer ones less.)

This song was off their firsr album, back when it was just Mark on the guitar, the band had no idea Myles could play lol, so on the second he played rhythm and Mark was lead. It added so much more dynamic. And now they share roles. I honestly think you should react and go through their discography, and see how they have evolved and all the AMAZING music they've made. You seriously wont regret it! But first you NEED to react to Words Darker than their Wings live at the Royal Albert Hall ft the Parallex Orchestra!!

Open Your Eyes was their first single and is the most Creed-sounding of their tracks, which is why I believe the label chose it (but that said it's always amazing live because the crowd always harmonizes together). I vastly prefer the title track off the first album. You can hear the slight shift in their style when they broke away from the label for Blackbird.
I send you a request for Disturbed A reason to fight official live video. This makes me think of Disturbeds message from that song, especially what they present in the live video. After you do the official live video where they do not have the whole song, make sure to watch the official music video, that is also extremly powerful and there you can listen to the whole song. Is just resonates with this song right here. Is really important to know that we are not alone no matter what we are facing, being addiction, depresion, loneliness, mental health problems, any kind of problem might we deal with.
Love this song too. And his voice is lovely. Would love to see a song done by Disturbed with Alter Bridge, the vocals would compliment each other so well.
