Alexandra Johannesburg’s: No-Go Zone in South Africa! 🇿🇦

- Take a walk with me through Alexandra, informally abbreviated to Alex, a township in the Gauteng province of Johannesburg, South Africa.
Unfortunately Alexandra has become recognized for riots, looting, poverty and crime, but I found a different side to this dangerous neighbourhood: Kind people, great culture, unique foods and a day I will never forget.
Alexandra's "Level of crime" ranking is 96.43 - Very High! Most websites would warn you not to visit alone, and don't walk around.
I've never been good with rules, so I spent the day exploring this lesser explored hood in Johannesburg.
Thank you to these two local men that I met, that showed me around.
I like to travel to the places other tourists won't, follow me on my journey to every country in the world.

Ah Indigo Traveller sells fear, he's not a real traveller... everything is "most dangerous", "almost died", "caught in bombing", "almost kidnapped". I've been to several places that indigo traveler made videos about, and they're all relatively safe despite his claims otherwise - he's selling the fear factor, and it is not honest travel.

@@emilio2647 He's was great and one of the first to do it. But he is a whole tv show, travels with 12-15 people, writers, producers, audio and security. It's not the same as travelling to an area alone.

Chris I think you should visit Saudi Arabia because there are very few videos of that country on YT and and I've heard things have changed a lot there in the past few years and many people are curious to know about the changes happening in that country

I agree with you 100%. I've visited over 100 countries with zero issues. Iraq is very high on my list for early 2023, along with Syria and Lebanon. So those videos will be coming very soon!

@@DEADINSID3. Nobody was overly bothered by my tattoos (although they are not on my hands). I don't think you would have a problem. Afghanistan is very tame right now, and your biggest concern would be Taliban (and they are bowing down to Tourists). Other countries like Jordan and Palestine were overly difficult to travel without hiding every tattoo I have. Even when my wrist tattoo showed, locals really got noticeably upset and aggressive. I met a local in Kabul with hand tattoo's and he wore skin colour gloves.

Elements of it. I have tons of footage that I'm sitting on that I've never used so I am reformatting some of my favourite adventures and rue-loading them until my next adventure.
The building which is considered to be a residence for men, locally referred to as hostels, were erected by the apartheid regime for men who came from the rural areas to work in the urban areas while sending money to their families back home.
I appreciate the free knowledge.
So what conclusions can we come to after watching this video? Would it have been better to leave these people in the bush when the Europeans found them in the 1600s or do they prefer to live like they do in Alexandra?

I was in Soweto and will upload a video shortly. I stayed out partying until 3am (past curfew) solo and never felt any danger.

@@ChrisMustList i had the same experiences in 2013 but don’t have any video. the day Madiba died there were parades in the street in his honor. i was the only white person i could see among the crowds of black south africans celebrating Mandela’s life and i never felt anything but welcomed. it started raining and i was dragged into a huddle under a canopy where we continued jumping and singing

This eye opening. I thought Johannesburg was well developed. It’s like a slum town area. Very interesting. I am not pleased. The living conditions. I’m sure it’s a result of corruption. But I like that the people still find away to enjoy themselves and eat good food.
Which major city doesn't have Ghettos? even Brazil one of the most beautiful and fascinating countries in the world you'll find such areas particularly in Rio De Janeiro the largest city of Brazil. and this place is not even in Johannesburg it's outside but not too far.

I have lived in South Africa near Johannesburg for 11 years . There is lot of crime like car hijacking, mugging , house robbery and many more .
