- Visions is the most I've liked Star Wars in such a long time, and while the music for all the shorts fit super well and are all well made, nothing stood out thematically or emotionally as much as the score for The Village Bride, and the main theme of the short. Done by Kevin Penkin, legend behind Made in Abyss, and with vocals from famous NieR vocalist Emi Evans, the theme is contemplative, beautiful, sirene, and perfectly befitting the mythical and gentle tone of the short.

This episode understood the Lore of Star Wars perfectly. I liked the narrative of a Jedi having lost her way.

This is one of the most beautiful soundtracks I've ever heard. This alone should be proof that Village Bride deserves attention and continuation.
What I would give to see a 26 episode season that begins with this episode…
@@sumguy01 That story would end with her death. Her chance to survive the Age of Empire as a Jedi is too small.
@@theasianboy315 Probably, but I think that's what would make it beautiful. In nature everything dies eventually, everything returns to the living Force. For a Jedi like her, there is no death, there is is only the Force.

The Grand Inquisitor once said, "Do you know the key to hunting a Jedi, friend? It is patience. Jedi cannot help what they are. Their compassion leaves a trail."
F is a compassionate helper. Ironically, this is what would lead her to her own ultimate destiny.
I like short little stories like this in its own little bubble. Not everything needs to be a series, just more chance to ruin it. The brevity adds to its alure. A story only needs to be as long as it needs to be.
You can’t change the river’s flow by casting a stone, but live in harmony with nature, and you’ll change together. The breath of life becomes wind and will always respond. - The quote from F is so beautiful, it's like when humility and strength comes together as one.

That was it, right there. That was the moment that reminded me.
It's not about religious zealots, it's not about galactic politics or terrifying superweapons. Sometimes the best tales are two people standing up in front of those who'd do wrong and going "no, no more. There won't be any more of this."
Why? Because it's the right thing to do. Because that's what a knight does. They stand for those who can't. And when F's blade ignited and glowed in her eyes, when she quietly took that terrifying first step and took back what'd been taken from her by the Empire, I knew in my heart that this was what I'd been missing, and what I fell in love with so long ago.
More of these, please. Please, this is what we need.
That was a beautiful comment and I completely agree.
The short fight scene was for a reason too. Imagine an epic battle of F vs all those droids and thugs. There would be shots to the village, damage the property and risks of killing someone. The distraction by the guy and everything else was perfect.
In a way that's what make Ahsoka such a beautiful character. All the Jedi chose politics. Chose to defend the chancellor of the Republic and leave Mandalore to suffer. Ahsoka was the one who ignored politics, the chancellor, the Jedi, the Republic, and chose to defend them in their time of need. She was not a Jedi officially, but she knew what it meant to be a Jedi. Something others had forgotten.
What a single minded and narrow "Jedi" way of thinking. Full of hubris and arrogance.
The moment F started her talk of the Force and Magina as she stepped out to take on the warlord, I started crying fairly hard, and that was on the Japanese dub/English subbed version for the first time.

I have no idea how he keeps doing it, but Kevin's work just hits me right in the gut, every time. It was no surprise to see his name in the credits.

You know, saying this is the best thing you can say to Kevin. Cause he said he does music in order for people to FEEL things, be it bad or good, the objective is to never let indifferent. I should say, for the moment, for what I've listen, he manages to fulfill the thing ;)

This was the best episode for me. The episode and especially the soundtrack was beautiful. Magina x Force gave me chills the first time I heard it. I couldn’t believe Emi Evan was the ones doing the vocals. Kevin Penkin and Emi Evans definitely should work together more. This episode deserves a full show.

The village bride short and this music was more than enough for me to want to write scripts and stories for these characters. (I GUESS I'LL SETTLE FOR FANFICTION FOR NOW.)
I've had to make do with Samuel Kim's cover for MAGINA x FORCE, which by its own right was friggin fantastic as well, don't get me wrong. But the actual composition made by Penkin is what I was really after, and by god it's just as beautiful and goosebump-enducing as when I first heard it when I watched the episode for the first time. The drop at 11:24 will never cease to give me chills.

The violin and cello at 2:05 is freaking amazing and adds so much to this. I like to call it “dirty strings” whenever I hear something like it. I love it because it brings an eerie feel to the piece and I’m obsessed
Same, first hearing it I thought of it as a rusty violin. Very haunting and beautiful
Catching the Blaster Bolt is, and remains, two of the coolest scenes in Star Wars.
Like Force Awakens or not but in here and there... It is just cool.
And then she throws it back. The best bit was how casual it looked.

I'm just hoping like all frick that one of these days someone is going to come along and make a rendition of this score's main theme *except it's the NieR: Automato* *_boss battle_* *version of this score's theme!*
Imagine a version of MAGINA X FORCE where the part at 10:13 kicks up to about 1.25 bpm and has that flurry of violins joined with those pulse-pounding charging drums, not unlike the kind that are utilized in 'Grandma - Destruction' and *_'A Beautiful Song'_* from the NieR: Automata OST!!!
And why stop there? There was a version of this theme that _Samuel Kim Music_ made where they managed to work some music from Made In Abyss into the rendition. Why not make a NieR: Automata Boss Battle version of this suite's main theme that has *_'Dawn'_* from the Final Fantasy XV OST worked in which seque's into the bit at 11:25!!!??

It's Chaos language, a fictional language made up by its singer Emi Evans. It's a mix between Japanese, French, etc. with it aiming to sound like what language would sound like thousands of years from now.
If you like it alot of the soundtrack from games called Nier & Nier: Automata sing this.
