    Wish I would've seen this video before trying to replace mine first time around.. I quickly figured it out, but would've had a much easier time seeing this first. Surprisingly, not too many 2230 tech videos out there, which is a shame. Thanks! - Cheers

      agreed, strange there aren't many 2230 tech vids! just picked one up at an estate sale for crazy cheap and decided i would learn how to service vintage marantz. fingers crossed more videos start popping up!

    I think going through the front and removing the front face and using an exacto knife to remove the face plplate. I removed the vellum and bought new vellum on ebay for $7.55. Once they were removed you can easily remove the bulbs from the front....thank you for showing how you get them from behind

    the music makes it seem like the laboratory of Count Chocula. I expect Frankenstein is lying on a table just out of camera shot.

    The easiest option is to access the dial lamps from the front. This way also allows you to easily clean the faceplate, the dial, and replace the original vellum paper.

    Hello there! I´m a big fan of your videos! Thanks for taking time and help us showing how to do it. Do you have a video on how to replace bulbs for the 2238b. If not can you give a detail of the lamps and fuses I need like you did with this one. Cheers!

    Does it matter if my original fuse lamps are 7 Volt and all I see is 6.3 volt and 8 volt and 12 volt will it work fine if I use a 8 Volt fuse lamp? or even a led fuse lamp?

    zie mjn andere berichten op de kenwood 3400, in principe is de kenwood erg makkelijk te repareren, zodra je de voltage en ampere weet van de lampjes die erin moeten is het simpel en die weet je nu...

    I've tried this yesterday, I guess the lamp fuse I got where defective. When Turned on after replacing, got some smoke from the lower front, turned it off immediatly. Removed the fuse, turned it on again, and everything is fine, all lights work, but the dial ones. Don you know what could I've burned out? thanks

    I was trying your method of replacing the dial lamps, but those two screws are really hard to get at.. I was thinking that drilling two holes in the plate where the dial pointer rests on over the screws would be a good way of accessing them. .How did you get at those screws? - Love your videos by the way

    • @vintagestereo
      @vintagestereo  Před 9 lety

      no drilling, just use good tools.

      vintage stereo
      I Found a much easier way to replace those dial light "Fuse Type" bulbs" - From the front panel - easy access and very easy to replace. The plastic dial and diffuser velum came off really easily and went back on with just a touch of glue..All you have to do is remove one screw under the Signal Strength Meter and Bobs you uncle.

      Ricardo D Gonzalez this bulb you have to solder in, a bi pin t1 1/4 size.

    Hi I want to order fuse bulbs for my Marantz gear, but cannot find the article in on-line electronic shops (like Conrad.nl). What's the official (dutch) term to look for ?

    • @vintagestereo
      @vintagestereo  Před 8 lety

      +Ha Ns this is the cheapest in the netherlands. Most other shops ask triple this price special if you order 50 ore more: cellux.proflamps.com/nl/product-details.php?p=18700400100931

    • @vintagestereo
      @vintagestereo  Před 8 lety +1

      +Ha Ns sorry igave you the wrong address, these are 8v 300ma bubs, you need 8v 250ma bulbs, these 300ma will melt the plastick housing rom the bulbs.The good address is: www.elektronica-online.nl/
      when you are there go to: licht&geluid....lampen.....lampjes laagspanning......and there you wil see Pilotlampje 8V - 250mA - €0.80 incl. BTW

      +Justin Snyder I don't know if some shops calle them power fuses....8v-250ma = 8v-250ma, can't make it something else from.
