This is a company that lacks a graphic design team, or something. Or are they just misjudging Western tastes? In any case, the fact that this HORRIBLY tacky slogan made it through the whole decision chain is simply mind-boggling!!!

I would of got the 8 Pro in blue if the slogan wasn't on it. Not going to bother because of this. I know you can get the Punk Black with no slogan, but the coloured phones look a lot better. Most black phones look all the same.
Love realme 8 💙 Don't invalidate us, midrange phone users just because it's not Samsung or Apple. It's all about comfort.
This is the smallest/lightest budget phone you can buy. I like my phones 75mm wide or less and this one is 74 and weighs 177g. Majority out there are 76-77mm. The iPhone Plus phones are 77mm as it was my previous phone and found it a bit wide to hold (small hands here).

So, it's basically unchanged from the Realme 6 and 7. Screen, battery, and design are the only actual changes. Might as well get a cheaper, older model. I think my 6 takes way better footage, but I don't record in 1080 at all and simply downscale it's 4k30. Your photos also look more grainy, but I guess it's either cropping or YT compression.
This thing is a killer 16 months on my realme 8 is going strong. Best phone ive ever owned.

@@antonywhatever572 OIS never gonna happen in cheap budget orientated phones. A52 is 430€ lol, its more expensive than the Poco F3, nevermind any cheaper redmi phone.
idk about availability, but A52 4G w/ 4Gb ram exists.

You are paying all of that for lower spec phone that has OIS. I mean, its samsung. Im sure there is market for it, or if you only buy value samsung phones, then this one is very nice, as it doesnt have exynos chipset and it has a nice camera.
@@antonywhatever572 Xiaomi is way way cheaper and better. OIS for additional $200 is a waste of cash and will just buy a Mi 11 on sale.

Thank you for the video, great as always😊 The bottom line is that there are too many phones.. this is just another one of them and for the most part, they all look the same.. all of them. As for this particular phone, cheap or not, I have no idea who would buy it. Is not particularly good at anything, is ugly as sin and as inconsequential as it gets.. but I guess, it will sell. People buy anything these days, anything, and with a cover slapped on the back to cover the disastrous design, this will ultimately look Just like every other phone with a cover on the back. And me? My 5 years old Galaxy Note 8 still rocks, I can do just about anything with it, the cameras are great including portraits mode, and it works like a charm with no slowdowns (I had it rooted since day one and heavily cleaned up). The only I thing I've done to it was changing the battery a couple years ago (that was never good in the first place because it's an Exynos model and eats battery very quickly. I would not switch to any Chinese phone no matter what is it, and definitely not to a Real Me if it was given to me for free. Real Me? Get Real..

Note 8 would have cost about $800 at the time. Realme is a $200 and under phone, come on! Comparing apples to Oranges. No one cares for the look of a phone these days front or back. Cost and performance is what matters as any case can cover it up. Don't choose a boring black one also guys.
The difference in camera from the Pro to this one is dramatic. This is why I normally don't like Samsung sensors. I think there is a legit argument for this phone for people who don't take many pictures and prefer to play games.

For GPS you might use helper apps to achieve more stable results. I think Realme/Mediatek could update the GPS refresh more often to get better consistency (oh, loosing battery by that of course).
For me Mediatek is doing a _much_ better job than Qualcomm when it comes to GPS accuracy (and you know how to handle it). Okay, if you have weak satellite signals you probably have to wait little longer, but if positioning then is better, it can save a _lot_ of work.
And finally Realme changed the button placement, so not so many screenshots anymore.

Hi. You know the Realme 8 Pro's camera specs (and hardware specs in general) seem a mixture of upgrade and downgrade vs the 7 Pro. But in your opinion in terms of the rear camera/s would you still go for the 8 Pro? Or would you rather go for the Galaxy A52 5G? Comment please. Cheers.

Here in Canada, A52 5G is $550 (on sale right now $100 off), and on Ali express, it's selling for ~$280 avg. That's a hefty price difference. I would go for Realme 8 if you're on a budget. $280 is for Realme 8 btw.

I think realme is going downhill with their budget phones , I remember realme 6 blew me away at the time because of the 90hz screen ,64mp camera , fast charging for a great price , the realme 7 was the same phone with worse 48mp main camera and bigger battery , now they've gone back to 64mp camera , screen is OLED but only 60hz , and now they have another problem because redmi note 10 pro is a brilliant phone (imo) am I the only one who thinks this ? These phones should have been called realme 7T and 7T pro , it's not a new phone , just a minor facelift or update
And I think at this point the 2mp macro is an insult to the customer , the 5mp telemacro on the redmi phones is actually a decent camera worth talking about
wide-angle and macro on midrange are trash anyway and portrait can be done through software processing. only the main rear lens are worth using
@@vinobruins6719 I don't understand the point of portrait lenses either , they are there just so the company can say we have a quad camera setup , and in my opinion portraits using the main camera suck anyway , portraits should be done via a telephoto lens , for gods sake , my 3 year old xiaomi mi a1 has a 2x telephoto/portrait lens , is that really that hard xiaomi ?

When a mediatek processor is as good as snapdragon processor:
They have been for quite a few years now especially in the budget segment.
Now with the big Dimensity models even the high-end SnapDragons are getting some competition from Mediatek.

Only needed to know if it has tap to pay (NFC) available in its comms features, but you didnt answer that question, so does nobody else on the internet, since the world is obsessed with camera for social media and gaming and if the phone cover shines or not instead of communicating. Why these devices are still called phones I dont know.

the camera megapixel of 7 and 8 are just the same. they are both has a 64 megapixel. there's no really a reason for you to upgrade on realme 8 since it was still the same

I been fooled. The seller in shop said the only difference between 2 models was the 4 G against 5 G. I asked I wanted a not to expensive phone but CAMERA Was more important. I was going to buy a a MI, but he sais this model was just out and better camera. For 1000 bht, better had the Pro in my case, and cannot return it.
