  • In the far north of Western Australia, in the remote Kimberley region is a vast freshwater lake nestled amongst a rugged billion year old landscape. The jewel of the Kimberley, Lake Argyle.
A wildlife cruise of the lake's shoreline and islands will give you close encounters with an incredible variety of native fauna, from fresh water crocodiles, fish and wallabies to more than 240 species of birds - almost one third of Australia's total known species.
If you're feeling more energetic, hit the network of bushwalking trails or the mountain bike trail and enjoy the scenery and tranquillity of Lake Argyle at your own pace.
Lake Argyle is approximately 75km by road from Kununurra, via the Victoria Highway. You can take the leisurely and scenic 40-minute drive from Kununurra through the Carr Boyd Ranges to Lake Argyle's shores, or to appreciate its immensity, hop on a scenic flight - you can even go by float plane and land on the lake. You can also cruise from Kununurra along the Ord River to Lake Argyle.

Amazing video again. Thanks for all the info given with the voice over. Are you guys back in Australia for long term? Or just this visit?
The lake looks so gorgeous! 😍 that bird at 7:32 is so pretty, do you know the name of the bird?

We did a month long road trip through the NT + Kimberley in Australia a few months before we moved to NZ. We never edited any of the videos 😬 We have tons from this series we need to do, but been focusing on all the NZ stuff. Just felt like editing something a bit different!
The Kimberley is so beautiful if you ever get the chance to visit, the colours are breathtaking!
That bird is a Spinifex Pigeon! One of our favourite because of the way they run along the ground 😂 Their wings make a cool sound when they take off too
