The voice is an intriging MIRACLE, and it illustrates many Spiritual secrets too! Crystal is fantastic! Sort of a Marion Williams for the new generation, with the high notes! Search Marion Williams "The Holy Ghost Is Alright With Me" and you'll see the similarities.

Crystal Rucker is an anointed singer...I like the way she comes across too....she's a runner and a riffer, but in one video I was watching of her, she pretty much told the church to direct their attention to God, not on her vocal abilities....that's where the glory belongs! She's alright with me.

Anyway, "coloratura soprano" is defined in classical and opera, and as far as those genres go, soprano is something else, even Karen Clark Sheard would prolly be a contralto by classical def.
She's not singing in falsetto. Her voice is much higher than Lashun's and Nikki Ross. It may not sound like it because her voice placement causes her to use a strong voice in her lower register, but trying measuring her talking voice on a piano and then try measuring the others! But know that someone talking with a low voice does not mean they have a low singing voice. I've always had a different speaking voice from singing...

No doubt. Crystal is baad. And don't get me wrong, I go crazy when I hear the riffs too but there's enough talent to go around. There are a lot of people with vocal gifts who don't riff and run all over the place. It doesn't make them any less valid or anointed.

No sir! They do not have about the same range. The voice is complex and has a lot of variety, including range...admit that. Chrystal might be a high soprano but she herself knows there are sopranos octaves higher than she is. Whitney is not even a soprano. Chrystal is not even near Tina as far as high soprano goes. Even Lorraine Stancil is still not near Tina in high soprano. Tina belts up to sustained G6s in full voice, and can clearly go higher.
