If you actually watched that whole sequence you can see that out of the 3 judges only alvin saw his true potential. By his words and his reactions, he acknowledged that Eric can really win.
I love how wholesome the teamwork is, everyone is encouraging everyone else and telling them theyâll do great and theyâre doing a good job
Eric has grown so far. Despite the pressure he has bin Alvin who taught he might still be worthless from the audition, he knows that he has the potential and it did and its worth beyond his expectation. Very impressive.

As someone who has been a professional stir-fryer, woks aren't nearly as hard as they're making them out to be. That's the whole point of woks.
Exactly. This is a classic piece of Chinese kitchen equipment that almost every family has. Even the most impoverished ones.
I think the point here is that most of these people *do not* have experience cooking with a wok, or have been in environments where cooking with a wok is normal. These are home chefs, genius.

Itâs absolutely amazing to see Eric doing this well. During his try out for master chef, he stated that he would never feel the same feeling as when he had gotten accepted into master chef. Itâs unbelievable that Eric has won the whole season for master chef and even became on himself! I congratulate him in being able to achieve his dream.
I love how David knows one of the teams messed up but still tried to raise the good points of the dish, because he's been in their position before and knows how hard it is. Also how excited the alumni was to watch Alvin as he scolds the teams cracks me up

As a Chinese, actually cooking with a pan is harder for me, compared to cooking with a wok
How? Pan doesnt have any restrictions. You can make sauces, rice, sear meat, etc. Wok is more limited in what you can make but requires more technicality.
Keith Cheng As a Chinese as well, I personally think they are similar except the wok uses more energy than a pan. The wok also takes some time to get use to.
@@Itsant33 I'm brown but id actually see why it's easier to use a wok. It can have a lot of the same applications as a regular fry pan but also has a much larger surface area for you to work with. I think I'd prefer to use it too, especially for more Asian dishes.

I don't get why finding a cartilage is such a big deal. It's so normal to have cartilage in your seafood dish, this is a Chinese dish anyway. I think westerners are not accustomed to having cartilage in their meals, during a Chinese meal gathering we sometimes warn each other about bones or cartilage in the fish.

After watching the USA version, it makes me really happy to watch the Canadian version. The competitors and teammates are supportive and nice and even the chefs and past competitors are understanding, even the part where Alvin gave April-Lee pointers on how to handle a wok was really great
