Several years ago, a police officer came upon a homeless woman that was high and in the process of having a baby. She was leaning against a building. The officer called the EMS and got them to the hospital. The officer and his wife ended up adopting the baby girl. I think the mom ended up getting clean after that. Because someone cared. Sweet story.

Albuquerque don’t play no games… I lived there for some years. Was in the streets and even the war zone came to be my stomping grounds. From the police to the locals to the coyotes. Have to give them all my respect’s. Just every time I think of my memories both good and bad. It’s not too bad there you just gotta be there and be part of the city or don’t. If your not part you’ll get put in your place really fast. Beautiful city just some eye sores there that mess it up. And respect the police there if not you’ll be put in your place. I learned how to move through the city and met a lot of cool people. But then again don’t ever cross anyone there because that will be you in the news the next day

ABQs War Zone (Wyoming/Marquette/Central areas) have been called the "war zone" since before the 80s... it was called War Zone because of the Mexican gangs. I lived in NE Heights when the area was "middle class". In early 1990's the gangs were spreading all over, no one was safe. An innocent family who was just passing through ABQ on Montgomery from Midwest, sitting at a red light, the family was shot up by gangs. It was that event i was determined to never raise my kids in that area, moved 1200 miles away and never looked back.

Albuquerque is the biggest shit hole I’ve ever lived. Central is insane. It’s the most depressing city and state I’ve ever been too. Everybody there hates it. It’s so negative and poor there. So depressing. So glad I finally got out. I will never EVER step foot in that dump ever again.
