    Wow, always something special when the engine starts up. Never get fed up hearing that. Well done Ludi, sounds great. Can’t wait to see it installed now. 😊👍🏻

    I’m impressed at that adapter plate. Looks like hard work, but I’m guessing you couldn’t get hold of a Land Rover diesel engine for reasonable money

      Nope, I am pretty sure all of the diesel land rovers we have here were imported so expensive..

    I can see another "dieselgate" scandal coming up for VW.
    Good work Ludi.

    When welding something that is going to vibrate a lot it’s advisable to pre heat the metal as y get a better finished product. Great news and video 👍🏻

    • @ludwigseeley6359
      @ludwigseeley6359  Před 3 lety +1

      Really! I had no idea that was something that was necessary :) thanks for the advice ;)

      @@ludwigseeley6359 welding without pre heating the metal creates moisture which is incorporated into the weld and causes hydrogen cracking and since the piece you welded is going to be vibrating a lot may make your weld fail. I’m not saying it will but pre heat on anything structural is a good idea, happy welding, looking forward to seeing how the Range Rover performs and the economy side to 👍🏻

    Well done you! All those hours of bit by bit slogging all came together.
    I am still concerned about that fuel / vacuum pump on the rear of the head as I wouldn't be butchering the car bulkhead. But I am sure you will find a way.
    Take care and keep safe!

      @ludwigseeley6359  Před 3 lety +2

      I am concerned as well! haha but since I changed to the automatic transmission I gained a good 5 inches of clearance ( thats why the adaptor is now much shorter) so theoretically it should be fine but we all know real life is often different ;)

    1.9 TDI seems a bit puny to be putting in RR. Could you not have found something larger e.g. 2.5 VW TDI? Years ago I had a 2.1 TDI Peugeot engine In 2 door classic. It worked really hard all the time with lots of clutch work - so maybe the auto is the way to go. Had poor acceleration and a top speed of 60 mph. Having said all that I did tow with it and it was great fun to own and drive. Keep up the good work. Loving the content👍

    Another step forward. Will you be doing anything to/with the engine or is it fine as it is?...

    • @ludwigseeley6359
      @ludwigseeley6359  Před 3 lety

      Will have it tuned to get more power out of it, how much I do not know yet, it will depend on the budget when I get there!

    1.9 seems small. What is the power output and torque figures bud?
