Thanks for all your videos. Never to old to learn new things(70 yrs. Young) was raised on a farm that we (8 of us) had to make a living off of. Long days & tractor lights, besides all the farm animals, gathering veggies to sale , can , & just survival mode! We made it!!!! 🤪Today I cherish all my grandparents & Mom & dad that taught us these skills! Thank you for all you do & share with us & I pray God blesses you abundantly!!!

This is my first year using this method on my tomatoes and so far I am blown away by the results! Thank you as always for sharing this content. I didn't trellis my peppers or eggplant this way because I didn't think about it but I'm so glad that I watched your vlog. As always, you're always teaching me something new. God Bless!

Thank you for the reminder about pruning the tomatoes!! I have 3 porch-size cherry tomatoes in pots on my Front Porch, & they're getting "tall enough"!! I need them to "branch out" now & put their energy into fruiting!!

I’ve been using cattle panels for a few years. I use clips which I can take off and reuse them for a few years before they start to break down.

Jill, Seeing Your high tunnel tomato trellis with the jute gave me idea for my green-stalk planter how to support the tomato plant from above and still be able to rotate the Greenstalk planter. It’s working. Thanks for the Inspiration.

Hey, Jill! Really enjoy hearing about your trellising system, as well as what's going on with your farm in your other videos, like with zinnias. Wanted to mention one thing, with love for all you do. You have gorgeous hair! You do seem to play and fuss with it a lot, maybe out of habit or nervousness? Anyway, it does become a distraction from what you're saying. It's so lovely and flipping around in the screen
it's easy to watch your hair and lose sight of what you're focused on, like tomato trellising. I hope you take this observation in the spirit in which it's intended--not as criticism, not as pick-you-apart, but as hoping to help you improve your vlog. Many blessings to you and your family:-).

Thank you for showing this! I am in Missouri and garden on half an acre in town but have planted 70 tomatoes in ground and trellised on cattle panels. I do plan to plant the rest in my 40ft raised beds down the middle and trellis this way!! I just ordered my jute twine so this video has prepared me lol thanks Jill!

One way to secure plants to trellises or whatever is nylon strips. Just while watching tv sit, relax and clip strips. It's a way to save money. I 'd love to see your high tunnel plants compared to the ones in raised beds. What makes the difference and how much different. Sweet smile! 😎

The problem with jute twine is if you have burried it under the plant to anchor it. The soil will be very active and the twine will break down quite quickly.

Great video! And tips! I struggled with what to use for a while as well, BT is still my “nuke” in my arsenal, but I am adapting to JADAM and KNF (Korean natural farming) techniques, REALLY powerful for the farmer, especially with all you grow and do you should check it out, you are producing all you need in your waist and in the natural flora fauna of your area. I think you would enjoy it. Check out Chris trump on CZcams he has a 700 acre macadamia nut farm that’s all KNF farmed.

Any cons to wrapping the tomato plants around the twine like you do the cucs? We wrap ours around and they grow instead of clipping. But wanted to know your thoughts. Thanks for sharing, I love seeing all the trellising ... its an art form. Last year we did this with wrapping the plant around the twine, this year we are doing a combination , added a few cattle panels to see how we like it, and then a good old tomato stake.

    • @WhisperingWillowFarm
