Since X-Men 97' aired, the viewership of the original 90's cartoon has spiked up 900% and comic sales increased 33% in less than a month. New fans, old fans, and die-hard fans. We're all fans at the end of the day. Now we're going to have a completely new generation of fans that get to experience what the older fans experienced for the first time. With how crazy the world is right now, we all need The X-Men more than ever.
Unfortunately it’s always a timely story. Name a time when there wasn’t a group of people who are persecuted for being different.
Cyclops's "I will not be my father! I will not abandon my son!" is so heartbreaking

It’s absolutely tragic, not funny. He left because he knows it’s necessary but also knows if hes there he wouldn’t be able to let it happen.
And then jean is like “oh yeah! Hey remember that pirate guy in space…?”
Walking out was kind of the opposite of abandonment. He refused to say goodbye. It’s understandable, but it’s equally sad. He may have refused to say goodbye to give abandonment credence, but he also lost out on the chance to give parting words. If Nathan had to leave either way, he could have joined in with Madeline in leaving parting words to make sure he felt loved. He may come to regret missing out on that. I would.

re: Magneto 'making sense'. Don't forget, Xavier & Magnus were based on Martin Luther King and Malcolm X. Both working towards the same thing but w/ different methodologies.
Before the 'anti-woke' start in, this has always been the way they wanted for the X-Men, an allegorical representation of the struggles of the disenfranchised and oppressed, and a major reason they became so popular.
That’s not true, the allegorical stuff didn’t come until the 70s, when Chris Claremont came on to the scene. Stan Lee created the mutants as an excuse not to do anymore superhero origins. If you read any of the X-men stories written by Stan Lee, they’re pretty standard superhero stuff. X-men didn’t become really popular until the Claremont era and then we really got the civil rights stuff for the X-men

I agree about just enjoy the show. Everyone usually likes to have it exactly the comics but X-men 97 did it better... they made it not a linear storytelling, they actually combined multiple storylines and made it made sense. I appreciate this because they didn't drag the story (stories) out. I actually like X-men 97 more all because of this and the animation is fire. Can't wait to see what else will pop up
The only thing you should know about X-men other than the characters is that you never ever skip X-men into if you do then you should give back your comic fan card back especially your 90’s kids card

This was only EPISODE 3!!!!!! They are making these episode with absolute fire and gold. The combo attacks are amazing. They seriously hit the nail on the head with the dialogue, it sounds exactly like the old school show. They really captured it perfectly for me. Gambit was in SHAMBLES lmfao

I couldn't agree more. This fixed the bad things from the OG but stayed true with the good things in the OG. Im a superfan with the original 90s cartoon but this was truly an elevation and Im all thankful for what they did.

Xavier & Magneto were inspired by Martin & Malcom which makes the conflict extremely understandable and relatable
Not really inspired. The modern iteration of Magneto is based on Menachem Begin, and the modern Prof X is based on David Ben Gurion.
Those influences came later, they weren't there from the start. Just read those early stories. Magneto was just an evil dude.
@@LeVidocq he lacked nuance and was a world domination type villain. Prof X was a campy dc doom patrol chief rip-off before that too. Claremont is the reason they are beloved. And is by all accounts the modern definition in character creation and character development for X-men.

Claremont deserves a lot of the credit that people grant to Stan Lee. He fleshed the hell out of them, and the animated show adapted a lot of stories from his run, and they're continuing that trend with the new series.
The creators said one of the first things they discussed was releasing it on Saturday mornings. Unfortunately it was determined that would hurt the shows viewership as times have changed since those days. It’d have been a fun nostalgia bomb if they’d done it, but Id rather the show get the biggest audience it can.

I hope we see Havok again too. We got him and the 90s version of X-Factor led by Forge in an episode of X-Men in the 90s. Iceman was a guest star in the episode too. It was really good. Cyclops and Havok fight in it and don't know they are brothers. I truly hope they follow up on that. Scott and Alex(Havok) are really close in the comics.

This reboot is on fire. Loving it so far.
Havok appeared in the old series as the leader of the government-sponsored version of X-Factor - Cyclops thought he seemed familiar, but couldn't understand why (and then the show kinda forgot about their connection, because I don't think X-Factor ever appeared again). He's out there, so it's possible he could make another appearance in the future.
This is a good show. I wasn't expecting to enjoy it this much.

I think that Forge and Bishop act as mentors and father figures for young Nathan in this version of X-Men.
It explains his proficiency in cybernetics and advanced technology.

Marvel needs to make more animated shows or movies like these. Hopefully they’ll stick the landing by the end of the show.
Marvel has a lot more upcoming animated shows coming out after this, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spiderman, eyes of wakada and marvel zombies.
I hope Xavier stays dead in this, not because I don't like him. But just because his character is often all-knowing and the leader, it's nice to see how the group dynamics change without him around

Magneto was NEVER evil. His mean were necessary and he only considered different tactics because situations have changed.
Stan's version was evil, Claremont made him sympathetic later on with the Holocaust backstory

Just a theory…I remember hearing that Rogues body was taken over. It was revealed she could control her powers this whole time. She was just so scared of hurting someone, her powers were always active. I don’t think Magneto and Rogue are hooking up. I think Magneto is helping her to control her powers. Again, just a theory. But I could see the show going in that direction.

After so many years of x-men and marvel stuff coming out, I’m so happy to be getting Mr Sinister back in action. He’s my favourite marvel villain, his origin is the best. But they have still under utilized his actual power and capabilities.

It must have been a different version of the "Legacy Virus". Otherwise, Beast would've been able to cure Nathan.
He literally said it was an advanced strain that Sinister made.
It's the Techno Organic Virus. Nathan's mutation keeps the virus at bay thus the origin of Cable

This episode is why you get Jennifer Hale to play Jean Grey. She's a legend for a reason.
Please forgive me getting on my soapbox for a minute: to extrapolate from the above, this is why voice actors need contractual protection for their vocal likenesses from studios of all kinds who want to use generative AI to duplicate their voices **and then not pay the voice actors**. Everyone in the voiceover/voice acting community needs to check their contracts for phrases like "in perpetuity." And consumers need to make a conscious decision to not support projects who replace real voice actors with AI voices.

Hasn’t marvel said that the MCU is its own timeline, the animated series is its own timeline, the comic is its own timeline? We’re watching the animated series version of events, not a retelling of the comics. They’re separate, unique. Just have fun with it!

Gambit getting the least amount of screen time compared to everyone by a large degree is getting on my nerves, like everyone is shining but he on the side. So far each of his dialogs or action scenes are no longer than 3 seconds! And this episode was the worst in that matter, everyone did something but he wasn't even envolved in the fight specially at the end where he was compeletly absent!
Good eps though..it was beyond my expectations
