Here the 3 things to do after flushing engine sludge; these are engine sludge clean up essentials. Cleaning engine sludge from these additional areas will ensure you don't starve your engine of oil. How many times to flush an engine remains debatable but I had to do a couple of flushes and oil changes to get a god result. I used Liqui Moly Engine Flush Plus twice (before oil changes) and have recently used Mannol motor flush too. These oil control solenoid and its strainer need to be clean to ensure optimal engine function. Although I show how to check these parts on the 2002 - 2007 Corolla, the same principles apply to other cars and their variable timing systems.

Would you mind checking the pick up tube? I am almost positive that it's going to be fine, but preventing is better than lamenting.
Great points you made about the vvt solenoid, on Hondas thats the first place that gets clogged with metal shavings in pending component failure.

Does the Liquimoly engine flush dissolve the sludge into liquid form?

Yes. It did a very good job in my experience, but doesn't remove 100% of the sludge. I think it also depends on the state of the sludge e.g hardened vs soft

does a 7th gen accord have the oil control solenoid? Also the 5k oil changes is it in miles or kilometre

Yep. The 7th gen has it. Honda calls their variable timing control (VTC) solenoid. It's by the side of the engine (passenger side). Oil change interval is in miles.

My car has this exact engine, and my pickup was clogged by RTV and it caused rod bearing failure - there were 0 symptoms before the bearing failure, no pressure light, no noises, no lack of performance, nothing. I think you should check the pickup strainer as it could he partially clogged without you noticing.
