Happy Halloween everyone! Figured I'd cover the brand new Good Christian Boy update for FAITH today. It has two very cool new modes - one where you fight all of the monsters from all of the FAITH games and one where John gets a much deserved day off (requires completing all 3 games in Marathon Mode without dying once).

Considering what follows is the best possible life for John, I find that line depressing as all hell.
It makes sense, because there's no demons there's nothing that could make his life hell (lol)
Also this kinda confirms the only reason he has the leg problem is because if the demons.

With the bad ending I've seen the terribleness that is the lost of faith in EVERYTHING! Crying yourself to sleep.....I've been in that pit of dispair! But the worst thing you can do is stop!
With the good ending it show me joy....then a profound sadness as John is ROBBED of everything I take for granted! I got my dream home before the hosing market went stupid, a dog and a steady job. I SHOULD BE THANKFUL!

It's very cursed (as overused as that word is) seeing John rotoscoped with a t-shirt instead of the robes he's always got on.
God, seeing John walk faster in Happy mode made me cry knowing that he had a sprain which made him walk slower.

I grew up with an NES/SNES, so I skipped over the bizarre noises, the digitized voices, and the unbelievable imagination necessary to play Atari games, but I gotta say, this was so well done that I could feel tangible fear during certain moments, like the flashlight/lantern areas, or that cornfield at the beginning, or the mirror scene later on. Pretty amazing adaptation; I love seeing "faithful" adaptations of previous game consoles with modern capabilities.

Something interesting about the survival part, is that it's entirely in a mental ward, something hinted at in the 1st chapter. Maybe this is a glimpse into his time there? If it's considered cannon, it really messes with things, as maybe it did all happen in le.head,.or is it just part of it?
In the third chapter you can actually go into that mental hospital if you run into the giant floating head later in the chapter!

Another interesting thing is that in happy mode, neither Garcia or John are priests. The fact it's in happy mode is strange, as maybe it implies that there never was a need for them as sin doesn't exist in this world, or a slightly darker one meaning religion just doesn't exist. However the creator is a devour Catholic, so it's all very interesting

Demons are disabled. They never existed in the first place... presumably. It's possible Ward was never orphaned, or if he was, despite being raised in a very Christian orphanage, he never felt the calling he did with he was personally affected by the demonic sacrifices.
I'm pretty sure a lot of the opinions FAITH has on Christianity and faith are incompatible with Catholicism. Salvation, redemption, holiness, and God's guidance are treated as incredibly personal things, not the machinations of a larger church. Even if there are references to the Vatican (though the Vatican never actually does a damn thing, it's a couple of local priests saving the world - which is even more Protestant, honestly.)

The thing I know about ABG is that if the game is really, really good, they'll play the entire game if it's short or a huge chunk of it it's long. But if ABG plays the entire game, do some deathless/all achievements run AND the play the DLC, you know that game is worth all the money you spent on it.

I haven't able to do that much exorcising lately. Not to mention having to work today.
1. Love the music. Always been the stand out of the series.
2. Simple graphics=Great creepy atmosphere.
3. Little touches like distorted "here I come!!" adds to the creepiness.

John and Father Garcia defeat the UNSPEAKABLE and return to John's neighborhood. Garcia buys a house on the same street, Lisa moves in with John, John recovers from his mental trauma and his leg heals.
Not an impossible scenario.
Pretty sure it takes place in a world where Gary and the cult never existed, considering John walks way faster meaning he never sustained any injuries which if I recall, where caused due to things the cult did

Gosh - I literall grew up in the times when games looked like this. Nowadays, I must admit, you gotta love that style to really enjoy this. Sorry, I had my fair share of this in the eighties - now it's just...painfully to watch. At least for me. Other than that it's beautifully done ;-)
