Doc i got a question regarding applying Vitamin C in the morning... because Vitamin C is water soluble, does heat and sweat during the day, strip off the Vitamin C from face making it useless/ineffective and 2nd I have heard/read somewhere that sun can actually burn the vitamin c resulting darker patches on face even though you have sunscreen over it... can you please clarify these information/misinformation??

I tried your C&E serum and love the scent. I’ve used a C serum for years but did like yours even better! Glad that I’m on the right track with my skin care routine. Now if I could stay awake long enough to wash my face before bed!

I use korean beauty product. Vitamin c on every second evening, like niaciamide. I use every morning hyaluronic serum and every day sunscreen
Unfortunately hyaluronic acid dries my skin terribly
When I was working in dentistry, I had a patient who was an older white women and she had flawless skin. She said her skin care consisted of using greek yogurt as a cleanser and green tea as her toner.
Yeah wish I would have taken her advice way back then.... she had a flawless glow and firmness to her face.
I can believe that because, green tea is a powerful antioxidant and Greek yoghurt has probiotics which is what dr youn is talking about in this video.

I wanted that to show that you don't have to buy those things you can whip it up in your kitchen and get great benefits. I prefer diy's.

@@mariad3011 so yeah during that informative discussion I had with her. She expressed her feelings on using alive products on her skin, because our skin is living. I have to sit my greek yogurt out for about an hour b4 I can use it. The cold will definitely shock the life back into ya 😆.
I do not use makeup on my skin but I like the idea of using a retinol and the cream with vitamin C and E in them.

And here I am at 42, still using tretinoin for my acne.
ETA: I mean this seriously, tret causes skin cell turnover and I just had a pimple a few weeks ago. And sometimes I can feel them “coming up” (that pain you get under the skin with cystic acne) that thankfully never fully formed, thanks to Tret.
I was so sure that SPF would be number one 😂😅 Anyway… Awesome video and I like how short and informative it was. Gotta add that I binge watch all your videos where you react to Butched. They are great especially when one doesn’t have the energy to absorb loads of information or add things to ones To-Do list but just want to relax one’s mind (and maybe unexpectedly learn something lol) 🎉🎞️😁👍
I can't help but chuckle every time i use bakuchiol, as i am Italian and the word sound a lot similar to the Italian word "bacucco" which means "really really old". You see the incredibile irony there? I wouldn't be too surprized if the scientinst who discovered it was Italian 😂😂😂😂

Just in time doc. I wanna skin care and all I have is aloe gel. I'm 21 and I think this is the best time to start
I use jojoba oil and it's great. If my skin is super dry, I'll use aloe from my plant. I have found using less products and natural products greatly improved my adult acne (still used Salicylic acid), plus a fruit enzyme mask. Less is more!
@@TikiHi77 absolutely correct. I have oily skin and I think using moisturizer doesn't help. I used Johnson's moisturizer and it dried out my skin.i also used aloe gel at night on my face. 😊
21 is way too young to use tretinoin or even retinol.
@@aysee.9431 that's what I was thinking. I've seen other people who are like older than me saying that they started using it at 20 onwards and that's why their eye region is still smooth and no wrinkles.
I started with 18. Clean your skin morning and evening, use a nurishing day cream and moisturizer in the evening. I'm 65 now and my care product changed over time. My skin is telling ne " thank you"!!

Sadly, The Ordinary is ceasing to produce their vit.C serum in silicone soon; I am buying the tubes that I can (they come sealed). It is so sad because, age (almost 52) I noticed I was getting a small bit of permanent wrinkling around my smile lines. Then I started incorporating this into my routine, on a daily basis. After 2 days those wrinkles were *gone* and my skin was super plump & baby butt soft. I mean... I am amazed, after hearing derm after derm diss this kind of product because of lack of evidence that it actually does something. It does something for me, all right! And just this alone makes me so much more comfortable in my "old skin". I love it, just sad to see it go, because it's a smooth & soft formulation and it has 0 "crumbs" in it, like their other formulas do! It's like shooting themselves in the foot, taking this away.
Oh hell. I use that serum every morning. I guess I'll have to stock up.
@@angelag669 Angela, it's taking a while to get through their stock, I think, so you have some time but don't let it linger. I have heard it once, from them themselves (an e-mail) and so I found out you can "only" order 9 at a time. I pay through paypal and higher numbers get refused every single time. You can order twice, one straight after another, for 9 items, cut-off point (so 18 pieces total). 10 will not go through, trust me (I tried a couple times). The tube comes sealed, so I'm not worried about it. I absolutely love this type of vit. C. Why even consider discontinuing it? Why would I want "grit" in my stuff, and their other types of vit. C, you get grit in your application. This one is the only one even on the market that is smooth (not talking about higher priced items at all, just not gonna go there). Such a darn shame, it really is! Good luck!

You should know that the laws in some countries insist on animal studies as proof of innocuity for humans.
The best thing you can do is eat properly, don’t smoke, don’t drink, and very importantly exercise. Then all you need is a nice moisturizer.

Some ppl can’t touch Retinol w a 10 ft poll. Bakucciol is what I’m trying now. Does not break me out thankfullt

Doctor, question how you use different serum when there's so many for different uses. Example it is recommended to use Vitamin C and E serum so how do you incorporate another serum like Probiotic serum with Vitamin C&E serum. Please answer

Can you do a video on what you think of Clara Dao. She’s a body positivity CZcamsr who advocates against changing your face and body to fit into social media beauty standards and I really looked up to her. But lately her face, her lip are thicker, her nose is higher. It’s changed a lot and I’m unsure how to feel because while I have nothing against getting procedures, i think it’s important to be transparent to your audience.
Can vit C serum irritate your skin? It’s also on the expensive side.
Dr Youn, what do you think of snail mucin? And what non-invasive, non-expensive anti-age treatment would you recommend for not very strong jowls?

Last time I went to my dermatologist, I asked for a tretinoin prescription. She said she preferred tazarotene, so prescribed that instead. I used it for about a month and tolerated it well. Later, I googled it, and I came across several articles that said retinols are neurotoxins and can affect your brain. That worried me so I stopped using it. I would love your thoughts on this since you are a holistic plastic surgeon but recommend retinols.

Salicylic acid found in some lotions is also a good antioxidant. That, and sunscreen , sunscreen, sunscreen.

Can you PLEASE do a video recommending products for women who are breastfeeding? Using Alpha .15 % Retinol daily and usually apply at night and no problem with it but I did start out for a few months with a less percentage retinol.

I've been using Retinol, Collagen Reptide products. Every night and morning before I put on makeup..I research first on the best products for skin of the face and neck.. I have been using these products for years and they do work. I'm turning 57 this year and people actually think I'm 45.. **Be sure to look in** the ingredients before buying products that say it has these ingredients on the front.. just because it says it has these ingredients doesn't mean it's in the ingredients.

Can you please explain to me why my tretinoin doesn’t do much aside from keeping my milia at bay. Doesn’t seem to help with spots, enlarged pores or wrinkles like everyone claims.
I’ve had the same experience. I paid $145 for a small tube and have seen no improvements.
Maybe not strong enough? Best to ask the doctor who prescribed it
@@DoctorYoun it’s .025% prescription tretinoin. It seems that when it comes to all skincare prescription or over the counter, it will only work for so long and then it no longer works anymore. I’m constantly having to change my skincare products.
Yah, Regenerist does work, but, it seems that creams tend to clog my pores as I’ve gotten older, so I’ve switched to Castor oil.
I like CO for so many things. It’s inexpensive and works for me
Just be careful with castor oil ,because some peoples have facial hair grow on their face

Can you actually use vitamin c and retinoids on your eyelids and under like all over your face?
Retinol around eyes, lips, neck and chest can be irritating and cause itching, flaking and pain.
I use the cerave Retinol serum in the blue bottle around my eyes and I've never had a problem. I do the Retinol sandwich, moisturizer, Retinol, moisture.
You could also use a bit of petroleum around your eyes and mouth first prevent too much from being absorbed.
Vitamin c is safe for eyes

😮Any vitamin C serum i’ve ever used has made me break out like crazy, retinoids, too… I guess i’ll need to be a wrinkly old lady soon (except people regularly assume i’m 10 years younger than my actual age).
For how long have you been using retinol? Afaik your skin can purge for up to a month after incorporating retinol, so if you used it for shorter time maybe try again with lighter formula as well. I’m using retinol for 2 weeks now and I see new breakouts, but want to continue till a month mark. I’ve also ordered retinol in a lighter formula so if this one won’t stop breaking me out I’ll be trying another one… I so don’t want to give up on retinol 😂
