  • 1Zpresso are continually changing their product line up and in 2023 they will be discontinuing three more of their grinders.
The JX, JX-Pro and the K-Max will not be manufactured anymore.
In place of the JX-Pro you will have the X-Pro and in place of the K-Max you will have the K-Ultra grinder, the JX will not have any replacement.
Along with the design changes with the body of the K-Ultra and the newly designed S-series handle, the Q2, JX, JX-Pro and a limited Edition J-Max will also incorporate the new S-series handle while stocks last.

Thanks for this video. I too was worried about the new handle but you kind of put my mind at ease. It wasn't easy to find a video with someone talking about this specific change.

Thank you also for the positive feedback. When 1Zpresso introduced this new handle design i was a little worried that it was a misstep, because more moving parts can lead to more parts that can potentially break.
However after getting the K-Ultra with the new S design handle and being able to look at it better, its pretty solid and feels strong where the parts click into place.
I do think that the user will still need to learn how to twist the parts properly to change the position without being too aggressive, but i think that that is the only thing that could wear down or loosen the connection points over time, but this is the same with all the other parts of the grinder and just one more thing to add to good maintenance and looking after your grinder.

Thank you for your positive feedback. Actually 1Zpresso have been busy. They have another two new grinders available.
The Q2 Air (an even more budget version of the Q2 Heptagonal) and the J-Ultra (a newly designed J-Max)
I will have both of these new grinders delivered some time later this week and i will be making a video of both the grinders.
      Have a great weekend.

Strange about the JZ Pro, my latest grinder, having sold my JX. Let’s see what’s coming! By the way. Quite a bit of echoing in this video.

Yes i agree about the JX-Pro, i was a little surprised about that also. I have a feeling that 1Zpresso might release another grinder similar to the JX-Pro with the 12.5 microns, because its got that extra fine adjustment for proper Espresso and has a bigger capacity than the X-Pro.
Sorry about the echo in the video, i just had a renovation done for a new work space and its a little empty in there at the moment.

Mate, get a microphone. The reverb makes this really hard to watch. Even a cheap lavalier will make a huge difference.
Keep up the good work .

Yes apologies for the sound, the reflection is quite bad, i made this video in my coffee roaster work unit because i was having an renovation done and its a pretty big room and has a quite a lot of reflection.

So does that mean we should grab a set of spare parts? Very strange the JX-Pro is being discontinued.

    • @mightymightyironhead
      @mightymightyironhead  Před rokem +1

If the main parts of your grinder (body, catch cup, grinding handle ect ) are ok and in good condition, i think that you should be ok, these parts usually last a long time and dont really break if they are looked after.
1Zpresso still dont provide a burr replacement service, so its not possible to get any burrs from them, hopefully this changes in the near future, because its something that they discussed with me about two years ago.
The smaller internal parts like the spring, thumb nut, adjustment dial, bearing disc ect should still be available and usually these can be gotten from dealers (i usually have a bog of spares that i give to my customers for free if they need a spare part) or directly from 1Zpresso.

Great video thanks, any idea how much 1zpresso charge for delivery to the UK? I've checked the FAQ's on their website but can't see it listed on there.

Hi good morning. Really sorry for the late reply. I actually only noticed your comment by accident, its not showing up in my comment section, so my apologies for not replying sooner.
Yes 1Zpresso are a little bit slack with giving relevant information on their website, but i think that its free delivery to the UK.
You can find out by going to the 1Zpresso main page, click on the drop down for products at the top of the page.
This open the page for that type of product (for example K series, J series, X series ect ect)
There will be a black button next to the product that you want to buy called "Get now" or "shop now" Click that button and it will take you to the page for this product.
Click the add to cart button for your purchase and this will add the product to your cart.
Next click on the cart at the top right of the page and then click on the check out button, this will give you the option to input your delivery details and choose the UK.
There are two shipping types in the sub total on the right side, on is for free shipping and one is for standard shipping. The price does not seem to change when you choose either one, so it does look like the shipping is free.

Do you have a source saying that the k-max is being discontinued? Thanks for making this video so I can pick one up 😁

    • @mightymightyironhead
      @mightymightyironhead  Před rokem +2

Hi Mark. I am actually a dealer for 1Zpresso, i was informed by my agent last December that the K-Max, JX and JX-Pro will all be discontinued around March 2023.
Too be honest its sometimes not easy to get accurate information from 1Zpresso, they often release a product without updating dealers.
Usually what happens is that they stop providing stock to their dealers for the products that they are discontinuing, so the dealers that have surplus stock will sell those until they have nore left.
Then 1Zpresso they sell these products directly from their own website until they also run out of any surplus stock.
Its like the K-Plus, i was told that they were not manufacturing the K-Plus anymore and i could not order any, but they were still selling the K-Plus for over a year directly from their website, so you will still have time to pick up a K-Max, but obviously i recommend that you dont wait too long.
