- Hello! I'm finally ready to publish a new video! The video turned out quite long, as I did not want to alter its speed of motion too much.I enjoyed painting this pastel portrait. By filming the process, I feel like we've captured the internal structure of the painting, which has its own bones, tendons, and flesh (kind of)... :)The video has also captured the quality and power of Mamut pastels very well. These handmade pastels kept up with my hand and my mind.

Omg I'm so happy to see you, the way I gasp just seeing you make art again! 7yrs ago your videos have honestly made me feel better and gave me the courage to pursue an art course at the university of my dreams. I don't have the skills yet at the time but your channel was the one thing that helped me improve. I'd play your videos while practicing and just watch when I needed inspiration.
Fast forward I've graduated with flying colors, not so much into fine art now as I've pursued a different art niche but gosh the happiness and motivation you've given have stayed with me all these years.

I've been watching you for years also and this is my favorite video of yours, by far. You have a unique, wonderful technique with skin tones and your freehand drawing is so very skilled. Don't worry about the videos being too long, we can speed up the playback, if desired. I really appreciate watching all the steps and detail of your process, how you apply color and blend. I think you are the artist who inspired me to try pastel 4-5 years ago and I love the medium. Thanks so much!

Graciela, I just found your amazing videos. I don’t need to tell you that you are a huge talent. I am grateful for your work, as I have very recently begun to learn how to do portraiture. I am primarily a landscape dabbler. I work in both pastel and watercolor, but will never be able to attain this level of expertise. Do you choose your colors ahead of time? Or do you adjust to the moment?

I obviously know left handed people exist. But, when I watch them do things that are very detailed, with their left hand, it feels foreign to me. I suppose it is because I am so bad with my left hand. I am a painter and struggle to use my left for anything useful.
I guess just one of those things because I am use to being right handed and being around mostly right handed people. It's probably tough to be a lefty. Since everything is made for right handed folks.

Just amazing. I could watch you all day. Do hope one day you will give some pastel art classes on-line. Can't believe this is on Canson paper. I use sanded papers as Canson always turns out to be a disaster for me. May I ask what was the red pencil you used around the eyes? Thank you so much for sharing. You are such an inspiration.
