- I've updated how the BDA plugin works a bit. The effect it passes over to burning players is better looking and better on server / client performance than before.
It's not perfect, but there are limitations in the engine I'm dealing with at this point ;w; - Hry

Medic dies almost every time because everyone is after the medic. So its just his daily routine

i think the reason they don't use these is because they're too long. people would think whoever is doing these is still alive, unlike the backstab and headshot animations which are fairly quick and are always followed by the "critical death" scream, unlike fire damage which more often than not just produces the "mild pain" sound on death.

I mean, they would get use to it. And just waste 1 or 2 ammo
they could follow it up with the critical death sound, that'd be really brutal.
easy fix is just make them do those animations but kneeling scout as a stand up headshot animation i dont see why medic one should be considered still alive
I think this should be a pyro weapon called "Slow Burn" or something that forces them to do this animation before dying when they are less than 15 hp
I like how soldier goes out like that one guy at the end of Platoon or Robocop.
I think it's a reference to how he falls in Meet the Pyro.

It would be cool if they added this but only to Afterburn deaths. If it was caused by flamethrower damage it would be a bit messy but if it’s just Afterburn specifically I think it would be fine

I can see why these were never implemented. Most of them last too long and a few just look plain goofy.

Yup. TF2C enables it, and it's fun to see, but there's a couple of times I shoot at dead players thinking they're still alive when in reality they're the demoman dancing around trying to put himself out lol
It is visually confusing. They look like they are still alive when they are technically dead
honestly I think this would be good if they only play if you die to crit fire
plus also tf2 is a goofy game
The pyro does not have burning animations, if it did it would be wondering why its burning
Gas passer
The Gas Passer can set Pyros on fire.
@@TheDoomMaster This simply doesnt happen considering the Gas Passer sucks.
Because Afterburn IS more a annoyance similar to Bleed rather than something seriously dangerous.
Also even then Pyros use fire retardant suits but this suit only affects afterburn not Direct hit with flamethrowers or Flares.
So Pyro IS immune to Afterburn nothing else that triggered it.
So tell me how many times you killed someone thanks to afterburn i think not alot because Health Kits, Dispensers, Airblast, Water exists.
And since Gas Itself is not dangerous as long as you dont take hit, its extremely rare for Pyro to die by Afterburn as this is very situational.
i think it would be something more creepy like pyro falling to the ground and diying while laughting

since there's a way to ignite pyros now, i had an idea for a pyro burn death animation
he'd drop to his knees like soldier, see rainbows and stuff around him and giggle before they turn to flames and he promptly collapses, he'd see the true nature of pyroland before dying

did you guys know that pyro actually does have a flaming death animation it's just that since pyro has a flame retardant suit he just falls over and dies
I mean, for direct fire damage they are too long and kind of dumb, but for an afterburn death I can see them work fine.

if the animations were shorter and followed by a sound effect for them burning to death i think it would have been fine for afterburn

I personally think a work around for adding these is if they only played if the player was getting dominated not everytime they get killed someone with fire

The dumb part IS the animations look more from Sims than TF2
Because dying by fire results in ragdoll simply falling with little momentum
The Animations unlike Headshots or Backstabs doesnt simply need to be there.

the bad thing is that the second they fall down they dissapear of the face of the earth
I think the original intentions for these animations were so that they would occur rarely. Otherwise it'd be annoying to tell If your opponent was still alive or not.

They're still in the game files, this mod allows them to be used in community servers

They get shot by force a nature
They get bonked or head smashed by a bat or shovel
Get sent flying into the air by stickybombs
Getting shot repeatedly by minigun
Getting telefragged
Getting hit by multiple syringes

how do you make them disappear after death?
Each one has a predefined timer, and they're fizzled out when that timer expires. Previously I was using turn to ash, but it doesn't look as good.

This is a plugin that runs on a server running Sourcemod, so your friendly neighborhood server administrator would need to install it!

1) Pyro don't have an animation
2) Heavy is too slow, to be respawned

I've been trying to install this for way too long with no help whatsoever. I'm not blaming you, I asked someone else for you but I fucking give.

Someday I'd like to go back and try and clean this up, the original version I did had them turn into ash, but it was a little jarring because the animation did not cut out in a clean way so I made them fizzle out instead
@@rowedahelicon I think it would be cool if they just turned into burning ragdolls like spys backstabbing. But I figure it may be a little more difficult to make the transition smoother.
