- In this video I analyse the data collected for measuring the magnetic flux density with a search coil (data collected in video 1 available here: • Search Coil Experiment... ).
I compare the result with the result I obtained in the current balance experiment (video here: • Current Balance Experi... ).
very nice video sir
Is their a market for these search coils? I have access to an old lab and could potentially produce some more.
Can you share that spreadsheet?
Yeah. It’s available here: www.tes.com/teaching-resource/current-balance-magnetic-flux-density-analysis-spreadsheet-12083287
@@PhysicsHQ That was warp speed!! Thank you.
Hahaha No probs. I share all my spreadsheets (just a few require payment), spreadsheets arranged by experiment video can be seen here: physicshq.wixsite.com/alevelphysicshq/resources-linked-to-videos
One spreadsheet, the one in which I analyse the decay of Protactinium, I haven’t shared yet (it’s a Google Sheet) and quite advanced so not as accessible to everyone.
The difference between your two times on this video is incorrect. t2 -t1 = 1.3768 - 1.3518 = 25ms not 50ms...
Well spotted! You're right - I had mistakenly left a × 2 calculation in the ∆t field. I think that was from a previous method of measuring half the peak and doubling it. So after all the search coil value differed significantly from the current balance 😕
@@PhysicsHQ thanks for the videos - very instructive :-). In the interest of science - did you ever find a reason why the search coil gives only half the value of B measured from the current balance?
