      His last platinum album was the last temptation in 2002.
      2003 he dropped Blood in my eye which totally flopped for ja rule standards.
      And in 2004 he dropped R.U.L.E which only went gold.
      So before the beef he sold 1st album 3 mil, second 5 mil, third almost 10 mil
      fourth 4,3 mil.
      And after the dissing he sold 500k and 700k

    Lmao. There is one thing about Slim u should know: never take his lyrics seriously, just enjoy. This whole track is sarcasm tho, he made this track especially for those ppl who took his lyrics literall. Ppl talked about Em he is a racist, homophobic, a violent prayer and all that stuff, thats why he came up with this one like:"u want it, u can get it".

  • @RakeshKumar-ue9dt
    @RakeshKumar-ue9dt Před 2 lety +12

    The final song on The Marshall Mathers LP, “Criminal” provides plenty of examples of and excuses for Em’s violent rhetoric.
    Em holds a noticeable pause after “A lotta people ask me”, presumably to draw our attention in. He then drops his punchline with his answer: “stupid fucking questions”.His statement with a rainstorm in the background is a callback to the intro to the last song of the SSLP, “Still Don’t Give a Fuck”. It is later reused on the intro to Relapse’s “Underground” as well.
    Both The Slim Shady LP and The Marshall Mathers LP intentionally blurred the line between Marshall Mathers the father/husband and his murderous alter-ego Slim Shady who threatened to murder anyone who pissed him off. Therefore, Marshall Mathers has no intentions to murder anyone in real life, but if he were to do so he would target the idiotic critics that label him as a criminal just because he raps about controversial topics.
    "How many records you expectin' to sell
    After your second LP sends you directly to jail" -: Eminem mocks the critics who predict that he will soon be sent to jail solely based off of his controversial lyrics. But if we learned anything from Tupac, it’s that you can still put out a successful album shortly after getting locked up.
    "You can't teach me a goddamn thing 'cause
    I watch TV and Comcast cable" -: Kids these days have so much access to information via television and the internet that many of them feel like they know it all and can’t be taught anything. By bringing this up, Eminem also suggests that there are other forms of media affecting the kids besides rap music, even though parents are much more accepting of TV.
    "Slim Shady, I'm as crazy as Em-
    -inem and Kim combined" -: Eminem’s alter ego Slim Shady is as twisted as Marshall and Kim Mathers combined - which is saying a lot considering both of them were pretty volatile drug users at the time.

    • @HamsterOnStrike
      @HamsterOnStrike Před 2 lety

      The "A lotta people ask me" is actually a shoutout to the last song on his previous album, SSLP, where in the song Still Don't Give A Fuck, he starts it with "A lotta people ask me, am I afraid of death?"

    I love listening to your two minds coming together to work stuff out. It’s really interesting. I always felt like he did the over the top schtick…like just kidding, no I’m not…so he could say what ever he wanted. Either way, it was a reaction to all the parents and critics…like na na nana na, I’ll say even worse. Would love you guys to react to the song “I’m Back.” Same album, you guys will be like 😯🤭😂

    On another note, Lex’s insight about music serving as history and the social implications of this fact reminds me of you Rage Against the Machine reactions. That’s the entire point of why Rage did what they did. If you do more of their videos you definitely need to pull the lyrics and analyze them. They are truly an important note in music history

    He usually uses alot of the extra vulgar stuff as a commentary on society. This song is all about the reaction he got from the media and parents saying he was a criminal for his music and so he basically mocks them by doing this. It's all basically to say.. it's not my job to raise ur kids. Do your job.

    This is Slim Shady, his 3 names have 3 different personalities so the rap is different when he uses each name. Slim was when he was on drugs. We wont get slim shady again because he is sober now. He did an interview and said this
