Now you're in my backyard. Mother-in-Law has had a place at Harker's Island since 1986. My brother-in-law going fishing in "The Hook" at the Jettie and at Shark Island all the time. I finally can relate to your location. I do love seeing the places you travel. Thanks for sharing! I live in Chapel Hill, work in Durham. Brother-in-Law is ex-military and lives in Fayetteville. It is about a 3-hour drive for both of us to get to go see the "High Tider" on the Crystal Coast. :-)

I’ve heard both you and Taylor mention being cold on each of your channels so I thought I’d pass on something that my dad mentioned from when he was an MP walking dock watch while stationed in South Carolina during WWII. Since it would be damp at night he would use a rain coat instead of coat. He told me that with the humidity of being on the coast it would pass through a regular coat but it wouldn’t with the rain coat. Possibly on extra cold nights he had a coat underneath but his first article was the rain coat. Maybe it’ll help with staying warm better.

Did Beaufort, SC still have a Shrimp Fleet working out of there? In the early 80’s it was pretty vibrant and like Taylor said, it is a water-centric town apart from the Marine Corps’ Paris Island Base. The only time I ever got to sail was out of there on a wooden-hulled 32’ Herreschoff Ketch. Sailed from there to Beaufort, NC. It was a memorable experience complete with Dolphins. Ever since I have been thinking I need to go back out to sea. I spent an appreciable time in the Article Circle, the Mediterranean, North Atlantic, Mid-Atlantic, and the waters off the Bahamas, almost entirely underwater.

Nice work by both of you. The drone shots of Lookout Bite were really good. Lookout Bite is a great place to wait for weather. Thanksgiving 1989, spent 3 days there hiding from a gail. It was the first time I had to use the jib halyard to hoist the anchor.
My aunt lived in Beaufort for years. Looked like the "beach party" was at radio island. Took the kids there to swim when they where little. Cape lookout is an awesome place to hang out!

Cape Lookout is one of the greatest places at night to see the stars. Hope you had a clear night. There is an abandon town back behind the pier just down from where you were anchored. If you are every get back you should spend some time walking around the old town .

Awesome sailing community. And the restaurants at the yachts clubs. Are absolutely on point. The people are super cool. And the food is amazing. Newport News was fun a time 🍸
Hi you need a Bum strap secured to either side of gimballed cooker. That'll hold you in place to cook. I really enjoy your videos. Live life and stay safe.

i have a friend who has a house just two miles north of the look out bight there. We go out and troll for fish right there in that inlet every time i'm down. Last time, we were catching a lot of spanish mackerel there. it's a wonderful place
You should sail up the pamlico sound some time to Bath n.c. It's the oldest town in the state. I'm blessed to call it home. We have the oldest church in the state. And Blackbeard had a home in bath creek. Alot of history here.

Many offshore boats have a requirement that when cooking, a rubberized apron must be worn by the person in the galley. This is to insure that the likelihood of getting burned is dramatically reduced. You might want to consider that for your next offshore passage.

My family has a vacation house in South Nags Head and when we’re down and seas are good enough to take our 21ft Grady White boat out in the Sound it’s fun to get out and explore islands that are mostly man made from dredging. Anyway, great video 🤘

Those are Corey Worthington sunglasses. Party boy from Melbourne who organised a birthday party for himself and hundreds of kids turned up. Was very untidy. Reporter asked him if he was ashamed of the trouble he cause. Nuh, call me to organise a party was his reply. Legend. At the time he had a set of sunglasses that were similar to yours. So from here till eternity they shall be known by that name. ;)
