    Sunday Sauce
    Ingredients:
    Italian sausage, pork and meatballs (see description below)
    2 - 28 ounce cans of crushed tomatoes and 56 ounces of water
    1 - 8 ounce can of tomato sauce and 8 ounces of water
    1 - 6 ounce can of tomato paste and 6 ounces of water
    2 tablespoons dried basil
    1 tablespoon garlic powder
    3 bay leaves
    Directions:
    Mix the above ingredients in a large stock pot. Bring to a boil then lower to a simmer. Add meatballs and browned sausage and browned pork meat. Simmer on the stovetop 4-6 hours. The sauce will reduce and thicken, and the meat will provide a full bodied sweet tomato flavor.
    MEAT:
    One pound sweet or hot Italian sausage, browned and cut into bite size pieces
    One pound of western style or country style pork, browned
    Meatballs:
    One-half pound ground chuck
    One-half pound ground pork
    1 egg
    One-half cup Italian seasoned bread crumbs
    One-quarter cup grated Italian cheese
    ¼ teaspoon pepper
    Handful of chopped, fresh flat leaf parsley
    Directions:
    Mix all ingredients taking care not to over handle the meat mixture. Form meat into balls - golf ball size or smaller. Brown meatballs on all sides in a fry pan under medium heat. Simmer meatballs in sauce along with other meats.
    Remove bay leaves and any pork bones before spooning sauce onto pasta.
