Ok, I had a 2016 JGC Summit and it kept doing the same thing. I changed the batteries both of them , that wasn’t the issue. I changed the fuse control module it worked for a while but it went out again. When I traded the vehicle they explained to me that it was the Control module ..... make sure you check out this vehicle before you purchase it. I had to trade mine within 3 months. It was in the shop over 4 times in 3 months .......
You didn’t hold the button long enough the first time. You need to hold it for a solid 1.5-2 seconds for it to start. The last time, you went a lot slower and it worked.
Is the problems with the brake. The Brake sometimes gets hard or gets air in it so it don’t engage quick, that’s why it won’t start because it needs both to start. I just hit the break harder and it works fine.
Mine just started doing this! I can barely push the brake n therefore the car won’t start. But then I leave it alone n check it after a few hours then it’s back to normal! So weird!
@@tamikanicole You are not alone. Mine spent 3 weeks at dealer. They couldn't reproduce it. Remote starter also didn't work. Not the brake pedal and no codes.
You right about that I had to leave my jeep behind even with a jump. It did not want to start up because it was running hot, but it did not show on the dashboard that it was running hot. It said it was the cooler was higher, was running higher, I think it was the airbag system, the electric park brakes it needs to be serviced It was just too much to bear. but all that to say that car need to be updated with thesoftware that’s probably was causing the car to behave the way it is I’m not a mechanic, but Lord without a software updated it is shutting the car down and that’s probably what’s going on with all vehicles
It seems you only switch to ACC. Engine will not start that way. If you push the button long enough, like 1.5-2 seconds then it will start the engine. That’s the basic step of push button FOB keys. Hope it helps. 😀
I have same issue 2014 grand Cherokee summit. I don't know why it is not working. I see message service electronic breaking system. I try what is in this video and it start working
I have a 2017 Summit and it had this problem, I spent 300 or so for both new batteries. I've had it stall out in the middle of the road, the idle does this weird in and out drone as if the alternator isn't charging or something. I'm gonna get a tune up. All new spark plugs, harness if need be. And check the alternator. Make sure your battery connections are clean and not corroded which they shouldn't because they're under your passenger seat in my model

My 2017 Summit V6 is having absolutely disgusting battery issues or something with the alternator, maybe even spark plugs i cant put a finger on it yet, but its driving me nuts. Its stalled out at a red light right before Im about to go and traffic starts honking at me while i furiously mash the start button. Its embaressing. This thing was once a smooth machine.
What are the symptoms of a bad head gasket? My car engine locked up and just won’t start. Firestone told me that it’s the head gasket. The car only have 88k mile on it and it’s a 2018 JGC.
I had a 2017 and same thing at 80,000 it started being jumpy and having issues with a cold engine. They dismissed me and at 104,000 the JGC head gasket needed to be replaced. Still searching a class action lawsuit till this day.
@@catherineoneill8260 I was told that Jeeps are notorious for this issue. It turns out that it was coolant leaking into my head gasket. How that happens, I’m not sure. I just know right after getting an oil change my car started to act up.

What does the control Mariel do?

I would have to agree but if it's happening more than once. Then yes you have a problem
That’s what we think, but no it should start right away with a tap. I had the same
Problem ended up changing it and works fine with just a tap

How did you reset
You have to hold the button and pressing the brake
Had the same problem. I changed the battery and started $500 later the problem was the same. It was the switch on / off button🤦🏻♀️
Would it only start with your key fob or both the same ?
