1. In my experience, even though Upwork even say so, the weightage of "something negative" is like 100 times for powerful than "something positive".
2. I had a repeat client for 3 years with 100% public + private feedback from him, with 30K+ billing. Then suddenly a $60 project client gave a negative feedback. Boom! my JSS went down to 93% single shot from 100%.
3. The repeat client continued, but it took me 8 months to recover from that "system shock" of $60 project.
4. There you go, choose wisely for yourself.

I had the same issue...A bad client just ended a contract with me without paying anything and my JSS just dropped from 90% to 79% now. The client was asking me to agree on the contract and then he would share more details on Skype. I agreed but still tried to communicate milestone deliverables via Upwork, and the moment he saw my communication on Upwork regards to contract details, he just ended the contract and my JSS just dropped dramatically. I have not planned to receive many jobs on Upwork due to my full-time position so actually, this case really affected me. What could I do now? I just feel like crying.

i have an idle client ...that just did not respond anymore...i refrained from closing the contract as I heard that doing so from freelancer end would not be good for me...instead client should be the one to initiate closure...but after what u say i take it that it would be better if i just end it even if it has been over 1 year since i last heard from client/ Does it matter if is hourly or fixed price (not sure if fixed price contracts end automatically or not)?
Hi Aleksander! I am not sure if you reply back, but here's what I am facing on upwork. I have 4 jobs with outcomes shown on my profile 3 of them are completed, one with dispute (settled by Upwork and without any feedback), 5th is in progress, all are 2X 5star rated and 1X 4.7 rated. My JSS is 73%, does the dispute has a negative impact on my profile, if yes then why the long project is not affecting it positively. Thnx looking forward for your help.

My question is about the no feedback.. i have like 4 jobs are active at this moment which the clients didn't end the contrct they just released the milstone and gone..
what should i do now. should i close it from my side. but as you said you only gonna need one or two contract with no client feedback given

HI Aleksander i appreciate your effort i have couple of questions related upwork JSS i am running my account from last 11 years suddenly my JSS reached at 89 and remove TOP RATED tag as well due to not getting new work from last 2 months and few negative feedback etc and i have completed over 1700 jobs before 2 months my profile was at 92 and in TOP RATED so what you will suggest me to boost JSS again waiting for your response!!!

Hello Aleksander, maybe you can help. I just finished 9 jobs on upwork. All are rated with 5 Stars. 2 are with writen feedbacks with high recomandations. Two clients hired me even two times. From 3 of the nine jobs I recieved a extra bonus payment. Just now i got my job sucess rate: 74%. How can this happen? Do you think it is possible that one client made a misstake with the private feedback? Maybe a 1 instead of a 10? I had seven different clients. Do you think it would be okay to write them and ask, if they maybe made a misstake? Thanks

My 1 contract is on hold from past 4 months. I think there is an issue with the client payment method.
I messaged the client several times but there was no response from him.
So,
If I end the contract myself, then how much it will effect my JSS?
What' your honest opinion?

Don't leave contracts open. It's worse than closing them.

Get jobs and have them end the jobs, mark them as successfully completed and leave a 5 star review.
You can't ask for a review on Upwork, it's against the terms of service.
I had 10 now my success score is at 87%
