Her vocal layers and arrangements and Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins ingenious production really set this song apart from others of its time. Another relatively underappreciated record is by Ashanti - Rescue you should definitely check it out.

Brandy is seriously the best. This album is epic. You literally can't pick a bad song to react to from Never Say Never. Every song is completely different and has a completely different vibe. You'd walk away surprised by every single one. But one thing, you'll feel every track because Brandy is so genuine and such a great singer! This wasn't a single and is one of her darker songs. Brandy is incredible at building up in her tracks. Another thing Brandy does better than anyone is the vocal layering. I'm going to check out if you have anymore Brandy reactions. She also has some never videos posted from a tv show she was recently in, her voice is still incredible.

Easily one of three or four best songs Brandy ever made. Glad you liked it! This was a radio single and was the last one from Never Say Never released directly to radio. So it wasn't technically a single, but I think it was delivered to radio after DJs started playing it on their own. It definitely deserved to have been a single, but by the time it was released to radio the singles had run their course in terms of chart position so my guess is the label didn't want to throw money behind this one. It likely should have been the 3rd or 4th single after The Boy Is Mine and Have You Ever and Almost Doesn't Count
The whole album is a Rnb masterpiece. I encourage you just to sit and listen to the whole album from start to finish each track from intro to the end flows seamlessly from 1 to another. Another fan favourite is ‘have you ever ‘ off the same album it was a no1 single and has a video to go along with it

I actually bought this cd again last summer because I couldn’t get this song out of my head lol. This track blew me away when I was 18 and still does. It’s the only full Brandy album I like and own.

I love this song but it always bothers me that it's called "angel in disguise" when the subject is talking about a "devil in disguise". An angel in disguise would be a good thing. The girl in the song is not. Maybe the writer was thinking that "disguised as an angel" as a title didn't roll off the tongue as well.
