LOVED THIS! Not too long, very interesting and educational plus Michael and Ruth are such a beautiful couple. :-)
Thank you so much!!!
Looking forward to seeing your photography.❤
Very soon!
I absolutely love the background of your photos, where and ambience, time of day the refinement, even state of mind as you shoot, thank you Mr. Potts❤
Thank you!! I’m so glad you liked it.
3 days? Ah well, I know it will be worth it. Looking forward to seeing this
Haha. Sorry, I was traveling and didn’t know when I would next have reliable internet.
Michael, this was wonderful. The photograph of the door is amazing. My eye was drawn in and through immediately. I could look at it for hours. Very beautiful.
Wow, thank you! That is so lovely to hear
Very beautiful! The door draws your attention to follow the surroundings.
Such history and beauty! Thanks for sharing your story. ❤ I know it was exciting for you!
Thank you very much! That is so lovely to hear!
I enjoyed your video with the mix of history, creative process and capturing of the festival. My one suggestion is that you show the images in the festival montage just a little longer. This would make the experience for my creative, yet dyslexic brain even better.
Thanks for the tips! That is a really good suggestion.
Beautiful photography & wonderful history ❤
Micheal, your work is beautiful. One's imagination can run wild with this. Bravo.
Thank you so much 😀
Stunning photograph. Thank you so much for the history of the region which is so fascinating. I remember seeing the celebration last year on Chateau Diaries.
Glad you enjoyed it
Your photography of the door, did draw me in. I being older, thought of my future, walking to my new life. Though I also wished to close the door. You always make my mind wander.
That is a very interpretation. Maybe it does look a little a door to the hear after. At least they are making wine behind it.
A truly glorious photograph. I love doors, and I've always felt they represent more than a mere entrance into a specific dwelling. I have a couple of old doors in my studio, the houses they came from long gone, and I've hauled them along whenever I move (people think that's a bit odd), feeling that wherever I wind up, they are the doors to my real home, wherever it is I truly dwell. Thanks for the inspiration, and some validation!
That is so beautiful. My brother did the same thing. For years he bought reclaimed objects for a house he didn’t own. Now he does and all the objects have been incorporated immaculately.
That was thoroughly enjoyable. Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I really love these videos, they are so interesting and joyful! Thank you!
I'm so glad! It’s so good to hear that feedback
Michael, you have the most interesting job ever. I like the door, to me a door is an opportunity for adventure. Go on, open it!❤😂
Yes! Doors open to opportunities
Loved this. Beautiful, pic, Michael, and it was so interesting hearing about the vineyard’s history and the statues etc. wonderfully narrated! . Please tell Ruth I loved her little Vineyard book….will now get the other one. Hope to ‘see’ you both at Lalande soon! ❤
Thanks so much! I’ll tell her. I can’t wait to be back at lalande. I’ve got a few more races to go.
@@MichaelPotts-Photography yup… end of season! Enjoy it all. X
Such a beautiful picture. I did not know Ruth was a writer. I’ll have to check out her books. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you! I hope you enjoy the books too.
Great job!
Thank you so much
I love the sculpture. And I love Ruth's name. Such a good Irish name. My mother was also a Ruth. 🙂🇨🇦
Randomly that part of her family is Scottish. But if you go back far enough I’m sure its Irish
@@MichaelPotts-Photography Lol!! My adoption papers said I was.English/Dutch. 5 years ago I got a DNA test since I had very little knowledge about family health history, and 1 of my children was considering having children. It turns out I am Irish/Scottish/English-- German/Sweedish/Finish/Polish. LOL!! My maternal grandfather lied about where he was from. He told his family they immigrated through Germany. My adoptive parents were German and Irish. 😄
Wow, that’s a full house. I really want to try one of those tests but I think it will be fairly boring, just English and Irish.
@@MichaelPotts-Photography that's what I thought. But 23 and me does more. They have tests for genetics. That was why I had it done.
Very nice presentation
Thanks a lot
Congratulations! Your photography is outstanding 👏👏
great photo!
Thank you!
Thank you for the video!
My pleasure!
Yet again, a fascinating vlog. Michael, you pack your vlogs full of information: art, photography, history, industry (wine making), current events (wine festival). I'm curious about that external light source: what it is and how it was used. I can't resist a pun here in asking you to shed some light on it. 🇨🇦
Haha. Thank you. The light source was the light on my phone :)
Oh my, the mystery deepens. How could you get the light in the photo but not the image of the person holding the phone?@@MichaelPotts-Photography
I pointed the torch towards the camera, that left me in relative darkness and because the shutter is open so long, I wasn’t going to register.
There is something interesting about capturing a person moving through a photograph where they are nearly not seen at all. Something about how transient our presence is over a timeless landscape
Amazing picture it reminds my of LP covers.Ruth looks a lovely lady. Did I see Phillip taking a photo of you.
Thank you. It could be an album cover :) yes, that was Philip.
Another great photo Michael
Glad you enjoyed it
Enjoyed the history, photos and I remember Stephanie in the wine festival getting recognized also,or was that the same town ?
Yes! It was at the same festival. So much fun.
So interesting! Thankyou
Glad you enjoyed it!
Apropos nothing to do with your image (sorry, I'll come back to it) but I love Ruth's book. It's evocative of a glorious holiday in Provence with my late partner whom I lost 18 months ago. Her book is a constant re-read for me because it takes me back to that holiday and the love we shared for 30 years.
I am so sorry to hear about your loss, I’m so glad Ruth’s book provides some solace.
Nice to see you have a partner Ruth. Make a good LP cover.
:)
Michael. I could not locate the subject of this video to purchase a copy. This is my favorite of all of your photos so far, Yes, it has replaced even the wonderful Stephanie portraits. Is this still available??
I’m so sorry. It was missing from that catalog. I’ve added it. Here is the link

Thank you, Michael. I am enjoying your flog tremendously, even though I am not a photographer!!

Thank you so much!!
You are so talented in everything you do! Did my idea about the adopting stars have anything to do with adopting a star in the cathedral? Sending massive massive hugs from NY
It did! Thank you so much! It managed to raise enough money to save the chapel. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
✨🌞✨
Thank you!
