Reading a book right now that talks about trains using ferry boats to cross rivers, and it blew my mind. I had to find a video that showed something similar. I don't think I've ever seen a train come off of a boat before, amazing! 🙆🏽♂️💥🛳️🚋
@@HDdk100 It is planned to replace the ferry link by a tunnel. And in Denmark the works to upgrade the railway towards this tunnel will start. No idea why this will need 10 years.
@@abalada 10 Years is wildly optimistic for the German Part. Germany still is debating whether or not to upgrade the Rail Line and Highway going to the Tunnel at all. Looking at Tunnels under the Alps, we can see where this is going. E.g. was the Gotthard Base Tunnel completed in 2016, but the Four Track Upgrade of the German Rail Line going to that Tunnel won't be completed before 2050, at the very least. So the Tunnel is pretty useless for the first 35 Years. Keep in Mind that all of this has been planned since the 1980ies, so that's a dumbfunding 70 Years to upgrade 200 km of already existing Rail Line from two to four Tracks.
Nice Video - but on the end of 2019 this year is finished the ferry line and also the train connection hamburg - kopenhagen on this line... The stupid manager wan t to build up a channel under baltic sea - it is a big shame !!!

I find this incredible, that a train can essentially board a ferry and then be re-mounted on tracks at the other side of the ferry's journey!

I wonder if getting the rails to line up is a challenge, but it looks far superior to using cranes for the trains.

This train service with a part of the route on board of a ferry will end this December. At least for the next 10 years. But more likely for ever.
