▬ About MDT ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
MDT was born out of a single purpose: to provide better value and better accuracy for precision rifles. The first MDT chassis was developed from the ground up based on the needs of shooters.
Our engineers verified every function and feature based on the input from competitive shooters. The end result was a game-changing product called the TAC21 that continues to perform at the range, in the field and in competitions around the world.
Today, MDT chassis, magazines and accessories are still developed the same way.
We collaborate, question and verify our concepts with precision shooters from around the globe to ensure that every MDT product is designed with the same single purpose: to provide our customers with the absolute best product possible. - Zábava
10:40 the best advice. Don't wait until you have all the gucci premium parts. Shoot what you have and learn longer range shooting. By the time you have the money to invest, you know better what you need and expect.
I have the same set up Savage 110 Tactical 6.5 CM mdt muzzle break and MDt Field stock and Oryx bipod minus the 25 power magnification.. the fartest I went was only 600y thanks MDT for this video now I am very confident of my set up
Lol fartest
What we like to hear 😎

My first rifle that I got for long range was a Savage 110 Tactical chambered in 308. with an LSS XL chassis, Oryx Bipod, and Venom scope. Using handloads, I hit 1400 yards no problem. Savage has good quality for the price.
Great video! I also built an inexpensive long range rifle using a Ruger American 6.5 CM with the included Vortex Crossfire II. I added an MDT XRS Chassis, muzzle brake and a Magpul bipod. Lots of fun without a lot of money!
Quality doesn't always mean expensive
Jon’s chuckles make the vid. 😂
Nice! Now try $800 setup at 1500 yards
I'm not seeing that being possible.
You're at almost a mile so you're really going to limit your choices. Just the number of rounds that can reach that distance is small. You're probably not finding a gun chambered in something capable of it for $800.
@@bmstylee7mm?
I think that's a good idea. Show people you don't need to drop thousands to just get into the hobby. Just keep practicing and have consistency. Sure, it'll be difficult but if you can do 1500 with a $800 setup then you sure as shit can do 1500 with a $1500 setup
I like you and Andy. Nice video, you explain the small important details and why. Then, emphasize the possibly overlooked to ensure people have successful shooting.
Great video! I am new to long range and haven’t decided what rifle to get but watching this video definitely gave me some pointers. Thanks
I really appreciate these videos by MDT. One thing I really watch for in videos is the view through the scope and the picture size of the target. At 12 power you can easily see the target at 1200 yards. Which shows you don't need a monster scope to see targets at distance. It makes me confident in the scopes I have on my rifles. Thanks MDT for making relevant to the point videos.
You're welcome and we appreciate the feedback. We will make sure to keep these type of videos coming
Not sure I'd say the $1200 build actually did 1200 yards since you needed a spotting scope (at a minimum) and used wireless cameras to spot your misses. Needs a couple hundred more dollars at a minimum to upgrade the scope so you can spot your own misses. Discovery optics 5-25 ED PRS would be a cheap choice at around $500 and has ED glass. Should do the trick!
Andy slade is a cool dude. Met him at VPRC for the first time. Super nice guy!
Yes he is and we a very glad to have him on the team
The Savage has a button rifled barrel. I had really good results with a Criterion button rifled barrel.
First step I cleaned it and then bore scoped it. It looked a little rough so I used JB bore paste to smooth it out a little, then I cleaned it well to remove all of the paste. I did a shoot clean shoot break in with one more use of the JB bore paste early on and after 3-4 shots I switched to 3 shots between cleaning. I started with it bore scoped and that was immediately on paper about 2 MOA off on the first shot at 50 yards. I think I did one adjustment to zero it before I went to 3 shot groups at 100 yards. I think i did another adjustment to zero it at 100 yards after a few groups.
After 13 shots I decided my break in was done because it cleaned up easy and it was shooting about 1/2 MOA at 100 yards. The range I was at only went out to 100 yards so I couldn't go further that day but it became my 1,000 yard gun and I'm sure it would do 1,200 yards but my 1,000 yard range only goes out to 1,000 yards.
Any way, a Savage barrel probably starts out rougher than a Criterion so it might respond to some JB bore paste even better. Just be careful and only use it when you need to.
A friend of mine casts a lead lap and uses super fine diamond paste to smooth out and eliminate tight spots on his long range guns so using JB isn't the most radical thing you can do but both of these thing require that you know what you are doing.
In terms of the $1,200 rifle, you could probably do that 1,200 yard shot on sandbags with a modified factory stock (free float the barrel and a skim coat bedding job). I'm not sure you need a muzzle break but if you are not having great results after barrel break in with a modified factory stock, getting the muzzle crowned might help. Also check for firing pin protrusion, off center primer strikes and consistent velocity if you have trouble. I've seen one rifle with an off-center firing pin hole that had inconsistent ignition and the accuracy improved quite a bit after the bolt was fixed. Ammo is another huge factor and your rifle might like some a lot better than others so after you have addressed the basics of accuracy, try changing the ammo or hand loading if you really want everything dialed in.
Very nice brother.
Love my new MDT ACC Premiere\Cz 457....Thx MDT
Make sure you tag us on social media; we would love to see it.
@@MDTTAC Will do.
I’m going to start a new IG probably this weekend…
yes
Awesome
Switched hats at the beginning😂
I like the bipod. What is the link to this bipod
It would be awesome if those stoicks would come for the TC compass :D
Never know what the future will hold; in the meantime, we offer our Oryx for the TC Compass SA
When the field stock comes for tikka???
Do not have an exact date, but it will not be too much longer, stay tuned
What variant Savage 110 did you start with? What scope did it come with? Thanks!
It was the Savage 110 Apex Predator XP with a 4-12x44mm Vortex BDC Crossfire scope that came with it.
Is it 1200 CAD or USD? Mossberg Patriot LR which comes with a MDT field stock for 750, then a 450 vortex venom 3-15x44.
USD
Can you send me an mdt folding adapter.... 🙏🏼
Pretty crazy! So the moral of the story is trigger time is more important than equipment.
Also my savage was a pile of junk and I bought the long range hunter. It was so bad savage replaced the entire rifle... Moral of that story buy Tikka
That is exactly what happened to me!!
Bought a 110 that sucked in 30-06 and then bought a tikka t3x rough tech tan in 6.5 world of difference
I’m working on a poor man’s build for a similar concept. I have had it out to 800 at Mammoth 23’s staff shoot with the factory tapered barrel. I have a new precision barrel for it but just haven’t had a chance to stretch its legs it.
It’s so far into the cheap end of the spectrum, I’m kind of afraid to even say what it is on CZcams comments 😂
There are alot of under rated rifles out there, at the end of the day, it comes down to the shooter.
@@MDTTACoh yeah. No doubt.
The short of it is, I got a brand new axis (pre accushot trigger) basically for free. Then scored a blemished Boyd’s stock. I’m only in the cost of the barrel and optic at this point. I did work on the action, bedded it and fixed up the trigger all with stuff I already had lying around.
So I suppose yeah it IS cheap for me, but to replicate wouldn’t be _as_ cheap
I'm looking for MDT chassis for SSG 69
Is there any options? 🤔
Not at the moment
Got a link to those targets?
Here is the link: mdttac.com/downloads/
Why do yall clean from behind? Is it not good to go through the tip of the barrel?
No
😎👍😎👍😎👍
Extremely stupid question, next!
I was excited to watch this until I realized you didn’t shoot the gun in its stock configuration first
1200 gun with 700 worth of furniture 😂
I’ve shot 1200 with a Ruger American in its factory configuration.
Savage Axis .308 to 1k for under 1k with optic. Shooting 1k really isn't that difficult
I believe the only reason there was any problem at 12 was the optic.
❤😂🎉😢😮😅
are we considering 1200$ rifles cheap now???
In the precision world, yes
For some reason, i just cant stand this guy
😂😂😂 I've shot an $89 Valmet M39 on the 1k line before with handloads....
So why not
