  • The Hyundai Ioniq 5 N is one of the most extreme EVs you can buy at the moment. With over 600 horsepower delivered to all four wheels, plus a plethora of drive modes that help you do everything from circuit racing to drifting, it's a truly wild ride. But it's about to get even wilder. Meet the new Hyundai Ioniq 5 N eN1 Cup car. This is a lightweight, caged, and big-winged version of Hyundai's rocket ship, tuned to such an extreme level that it isn't even road legal.

Awesome video. $100k not bad for a race car lile that. Elantra N TC race car is about $100k in the US. Love how much Tim knows about the details like the AP brakes.

I have the regular Ioniq 5 with dual motors and it's plenty quick. It also handles fairly well with the weight down low, or maybe I should say predictably. I came out of a clover leaf (no traffic) pretty fast and the car started to slide as I exited and I felt completely comfortable with it as I stayed on the accelerator and let it do it's thing.
So I can't imagine how fun an N version would be. I don't care for all the fake sounds and shifting, but it's neat that they did such a good job with it.

The car is so eerily quiet while on the track. I was at least expecting some tire squeal in the turns.

The worst part of racing is the loud noise trackside. It would be great to have all EV race.

Downloadable? No, but it has several of them built in already. Who knows if they'll release more in updates though.

I'd love to see the mountain pass perf folks get ahold of one of these. Funny a stock full weight model Y perf at half the price is about the same weight&nearly the same power-weight as this is. 😀

For a 100k, they need to make it so that you can drive it to the racetrack since it so attainable.

The video shows that a Porsche GT3 RS can complete one lap of the Inje Speed Circuit in 1 minute and 46 seconds.
In comparison, an Ioniq 5 N eN1 can complete one lap in 1 minute and 37 seconds, and can potentially complete around 13 to 14 laps on a single charge.
This highlights the significant performance difference between the two vehicles.

CZcamsr Ben p raced Nürburgring with three friends on a regular Ionic 5N, and it was said that if you go around four times, the battery will remain 10

Giving an average person with no real performance driving a experience a vehicle that have a lot of power is asking for the public to kill them selves. Still say EV is a waste of time harm the environment more than gas vehicles the stuff you need to build one the cost it takes to up keep the updates that may ruin your car.. not practical

Good luck getting an ev on track days. Tesla drivers ruined that with their lithium fires messing up the tracks
