---beautifull, car. I've, got a 72, rs-28. Been building it from the grown-up. 3rd owner of-it. Still as all the papers. On-it. Thanks for sharing. Hope, you have a great-day.
G’day, awesome and thank you for watching. I love hearing from like minded Camaro owners. What engine & what colour (combo) is your car? You are gonna love it when it’s finished.
Regards Robert.
My ‘70 also had the 3 piece rear spoiler. I like it better because it’s functional. It was developed for SCCA Trans Am racing. The low profile 1 piece was known to actually induce lift.
Why thank you so much for the information. I did not know that. Thanks for watching!
I graduated HS in the mid 70s. I guy a year ahead of me drove a 70 z/28 like this in a green with gray stripes. I was driving a 69' Ply. Road Runner soon after graduation.
G’day, that would have been so cool to have driven these cars as HS kids. Wow!
And even cooler to have had a Plymouth Road Runner.
That’s awesome.
Thanks for watching. Rob.
@@RobsGarageDays Sure NP.
Awesome job on the description of the car. And yeah it is an awesome beautiful car.
G’day Rob, as you requested.
You guys were so were, and still are, so lucky to have easy access to the big three car manufacturing companies.
We do have some cool cars (here) of yesteryear, but American cars rival all of ours.
Enjoy Mate
Thanks Bud.
My current DD is a 17' Camaro Super Sport 6 speed manual trans. Had a 2011 Camaro before that. Both great cars but the 17' is a step up.
Hi, a stick shift would be very cool! I often think of a manual conversion.
Thank you for watching.
@@RobsGarageDays Sticks in both my Camaros, only way to go with these cars.
I think you might be right!@@matrox
Hi mate, the rear spoiler was available in 1970 as an option from the factory (COPO 9796). A Very rare option for the year - perhaps review the build sheet to see if it was factory fitted. In 1970 the standard option was a low profile 1 piece spoiler
Hi bud, Thanks for the information. I'll check it out.
It was only available after april 1970
I have a 73 Z28. I prefer the spoiler that you have.
Never lean up against your car with those metal Rivets on your pockets
Rob this is a sought after car here in the United States as you probably know that.
Yeah, I think I have something special.
Thank you, Robert.
Look up Southern Camaro they put my Camaro on their front catalog
That rear spoiler looks very similar to the spoiler I had on my 77 Trans Am. And you said that car was June 19 70! 🎉. Cool 😎 I’m a 6/70.😂.
Beautiful car! Thanks for sharing!
I don’t look as good as that lol 😂
Hahaha.
Hi, Thanks for the tip on the rear spoiler. Maybe it is a TA wing?
6/70 - should this be your car?
Hahaha, enjoy your day. Rob.
Thanks! But it looks to be that it has a great home
That is the correct rear spoiler for that car
G’day, thanks for watching and thanks for the information.
By "trans am" spoiler, he's referring to the origin of the spoiler design as it relates to the 1970 camaro requiring that spoiler to compete in the trans am racing series.
G’day, thank you for the information. I should remove it and have a look at the part number underneath.
@@RobsGarageDays it is COPO (Central Office Production Order) #9796 and it was only made available for order AFTER April 1970. If your car has a build date prior to May 1970 then your car would only have been available with the short ducktail spoiler (or no spoiler at all).
@@barnabyjones5161The car is a June 1970.
Thanks so much for all the information you’re giving me. It’s much appreciated.
@@RobsGarageDays then your car was available for the optional spoiler.
How do you find the LHD? Would you prefer RHD?
Hi Graham, I much prefer LHD as it feels more natural. I only wish Australia would join the crowd.
300hp 350 was the bottom of the line stock 350. Could have gotten the 360hp ver. in stock form.
Yeah, a higher HP engine would be nice. But this thing cruises along fine as is. And with the current price of fuel, it’s an economical car to drive.
The L48 was the 300hp 350.
The 300hp L48 was the middle of the road option. It had a 4bbl carb and wasn't much more than a cam change away from the 360hp in the Z28. On the other hand, I have the bottom of the line 350 of 1970. It's a 250hp 2bbl, in my no frills, no options other than air conditioning, way more fun than it should be, base model 1970 2nd gen.
Didn't see a z22 on that build sheet....
Because it said Z27 just like he said in the video
@@raymondkidwell2338 no such option
@@barnabyjones5161 the build sheet may have said z67 it's hard to tell but it definitely had a 7 on the end of it and it definitely said "SUPER SPORT" as plain as day.
@@raymondkidwell2338 yeah but z22 is the RS appearance package. What i'm getting at is that if that's faked then the whole car is suspect.
@@barnabyjones5161 I know what you're saying and the reason you didn't see the z22 on the build sheet is because its not there and the guy said that he put the RS front end on the car. But it is a real SS car.
It has that air conditioning crap on it I see it on the dash all that air conditioning stuff it just takes up too much room in the engine compartment always like to put my tomorrow's without the air conditioning.
The hood is perfect
Chevrolet never called it a 70 1/2 it was always 1970
One of my long time best friends use to have a 70 1/2 Z28 and it said 70 1/2 on the title. And I have always preferred the 3 piece spoiler over the 1 piece or no spoiler at all on the 2nd gen camaros.
